Hi all,

I am a relatively new writer that has just recently decided to start writing with a goal to be published.

Although the ideas are there I suck at grammar/punctuation and really need an editor with a keen eye for detail as well as one that will tell me what works and what does not.

I also need someone that will get back to me within 7-10 days.

Say if I want to send in a story to an editor for submission by April 30th and I send it to you on April 15th, I would hope that you could get it back to me by the 25th at the latest depending on length. of course if it were longer then I would send it to you earlier.

Editor must be open to reading gay, menage, lesbian, m/f, light bondage, transgendered genres. Explicitly erotic! =)

If this is you please PM me.

Thanks

Allow me to regurgitate the specifics.

You arrive here, new, placing demands that an editor, whom he/she spends hours of their free time trying their level best to help at no charge, be at your disposal, at your whim.

Try again. I'll give you a do-over, everyone makes a mistake. Don't make it twice.

Okay, in hindsight my response may have been a bit severe. Bad day at work, looking to make more cuts.

WELCOME!

I don't think you were severe. As you said, we edit for free. I tell all my authors "but be aware that if I am busy, either with a lot of editing to do, or with a deadline to meet for my publisher then I may have to say I don't have time immediately" and if they don't accept that then it is their bad luck.

Um...ok

Hi to both of you.

I don't think I made any demands. The editors that I tried to message before put themselves out there and then did not send back a response at all.

One emailed me, I sent them a couple of stories and they NEVER got back to me.

Maybe it came out wrong but I just ask that the person be a communicator, patient, and open to what I write.

I hope that is more clear.

I do understand that people have lives: I have two growing children and I really can only write late into the night after both are asleep.

I apologize if it did not sound right but as I stated, have not had very good luck with the editors on LIT.

It is okay though, someone has PM'd me already and it seems to be working good so far.

=)

Yes, you are right. While the intent was sincere, the editor program here is broken. I don't think anyone would argue this point, the editors specifically.

So, what to do? Snooper does his best to enlist editors to sign up a month at a time and advertise on the editor thread. Me, I just post threads notifying writers of my availability. Right now I'm backed up about a week, but could take a look if you're willing to wait a bit

In the meantime check out a story or two of mine and see if our styles converge. I'll include the thread. I am pretty open to most topics.

At any rate, best of luck.
