Hello to you all. I have been a writer for a very long time, but I'm only just now dipping my toes into doing it more seriously. I would love to find an editor or interested beta readers that would enjoy something slow burn with a historical flare and Vampires. I have a good 30 chapters written with various levels of editing with a lot more to fill in. I'm trying to figure out if literotica is a good place to support what I am hoping to do with it as a starting point.

Is there anything I can do to sweeten the pot to catch someone's interest? I'd be happy to have a conversation and make it hopefully enjoyable.

Editing is hard work. It ;eaves you drained with no energy for writing. As a full-time professional editor, I can do anywhere between 500 and 1000 words an hour.

So you can see how 30 chapters might be more than anyone is willing to volunteer their time for.

But despair not! Over in the Authors' Hangout we have a thread dedicated to self-editing (there's also a link in the Editors' forum). Hopefully you can find some useful tips there to help you manage by yourself.

Also, if you want to have a look at my own attempt at Gothic horror with vampires, take a look at The Countesses of Tannensdal. I deliberately tried to imitate a 19th century style, and combined elements of the Ruritanian romance as well.

Oh, no worries. I have been self editing. And I certainly don't expect a volunteer to take on the whole job. But after my first lit rejection, I just figured I'd try to follow a little of the advice listed.

Thanks for the link. I'll check out your story later :D
