Seeing with Seeing(Closed for myself and Demos Straxus)

Kris made her way thru the busy streets, her bangs and sunglasses covering the scars along her eyes. AS a child she had been blinded when her family's cabin blew up. She was 6'0 and had a slim atlethic build, with jet black hair and pale skin

Kris was far from your normal human, she was a Lycan, a werewolf. Unfortunately her gifts had not been able to prevent the damage to her eyes, when she changed forms however she could see in ultoviolet.

Counting her steps Kris stopped in front of the butcher shop and went in. "Hey George! Got my package??"

"Sure thing." The again italian came from behind the counter and slipped teh bag onto her free arm. "Same thing next week?"

"Yep. I'll see you in a few days." She msiled and headed back out onto the street. Turning back to ther left she headed back for her apartment. The building was large but only had a few tenats.

Entering the building she made her way to the stairs after folding her cane. Her heightend sense of hearing picked up the stirring on her floor. Seemed she was finally getting a neighbor.

At the landing she called out, "Hello?" Kris was curious as to who the person was, the wolf in her could smell the moving men. She had had this level all to herslef since her elderly nieghbor died some years ago.

Realizing there may be boxes in her way she opened her cane back up.

"Hey."

The "moving man" said as he half carried that last pile of his junk through the doorway. Returning to the hallway, he noted the beautiful young woman as she crossed the floor using a cane. He looked at her glasses and realized she must be blind. Stepping bit closer he spoke again.

"The floors clear now. I just got finished dragging myself in. Names John."

John was a 6'4" handsome olive skinned man. He inherited his skin color, along with fluent italian from his mother, a sicilian. From his father he had gained an athletic build, and easy charm, as well as short brown hair that never seemed to sit striaght on his head. He was dressed for the manual labor, wearing jeans, and a green tshirt. He smelled of sweat from his labors, but seemed exhilarated rather than exhausted by the work.

"Just got the lease on this place yesterday. Can I help you with those packages?"

Kris turned her head in his general direction. normally she would say no to help but said, "Thank you." She handed him the bag. "My name is Kris. I'm the only other one up here on this floor."

She flooded her cane up and started walking towards her door. The beast inside her regarded john as just a normal guy. Though the smell of him was intoxicating.

"You must have started movingin while i was at work. I usually notice new people around me."

Pulling her keys out she unlocked her door and pushed it in. "You can set it down on the counter."

John nodded, more to himself than her, and carryied the package, setting it on the counter, turning back to her he spoke, trying to be as friendly as possible.

"Yeah, had to spend last night at a motel, wasn't interested in paying for a repeat. Its nice to meet you Kris."

Turning to leave the door, he almost made it there before a through occured to him.

"Say, I was planning on going out to eat tonight, would you care to join me? I'm kinda new to the area, so I don't know where any of the restaurants are."

Normally she kept to herself, but for some reason Kris said, "Sure why not. it's been awhile since I've been out."

Turnign to face him Kris said, "Umm give me an hour to change and freshen up?"

It was a good thing the full moon was still a wekk awake, she could trust herself out in public.

"Sure thing. I need to take a shower and change clothes myself. Meet you back here in an hour then."

Leaving her apartment, he headed to his own and pulled off his sweaty clothes, and hoping into the shower. He smiled to himself, recalling Kris, and marveling at his luck for finding such a beautiful practicaly next door to him.

She cloed her door and put the meat away. Taking off her sun glasses she headed into her room. Out of a habit from her youth she turned the light on. in her room and inthe bathroom.

She stripped down, the light dancing over her skin and the long scar across her back from the explosion.

Naked she walked across the tile and into her shower. Kris turned the water on, jumping as the cold water hit her before it turned warm.

She only stayed in long enough to get clean. once she was out she dried off. Walking to her closet she opened it. She only wore two colors red and black. Red on the left Black on the right. Seh grabbed a blouse from the left and a pair of jeans form the right.

Kris was dressed and decided to make sure everything was clean. She dumped her dirty clothes in the basket and began to ponder her new neighbor. It was strange that she felt comfortale around him.

Any of the others in the building could tell him she came and went without a sound and kept to herself for the most part.

John got out of the shower, toweling himself off, and dressed casualy in another pair of jeans, and a light blue t-shirt. Smiling nervously he walked to her apartment, and checking his watch rung her bell.

Kris opend the door, not realizing she had left her sun glasses off. Her scars weren't bad really just white lines going across. Her eyes were blue dull but blue.

"Hi john. Let me get my purse and my cane." She grabbed then from the tale by the door and closed it behind her. "I know of a little bistro down the street. We can walk there."

John stared at her eyes. They were enchanting.

"You have beautiful eyes Kris. Would you like to take my arm? I'm no seeing eye dog, but I am trained as a nurse. I can probably avoid leading you into dumpster."

"What a gentleman." She folded her cane and put it inher purse. Locking her door she said, "Lead the way."

She was surprised about what he said about her eyes, "thank you. i usualy hide them. Most people just pity me. I've been blind so long i've forgotten what its like to see really."

John glanced around the aparment building for a moment as he took her arm and started to lead her down the stair. leaning close he whispered into her ear.

"Well....just between to two of use......the walls around he are the color of dog vomit."

He smiled at the warmth of he rboady against him, enjoying it, and her weight on her arm. This looked to be a promising evening. Good food, a nice apartment at last, and a beautiful lady on one arm. Very promising looking indeed.

How wrong could a guy be?

Kris laughed and said, "Sure." The night was cool and fileld with the noise of the city. "Head left." She could already smell the fresh bread and pasta from the bistro.

"Gino's is the best place for dinner on short notice. Always good food, and crowd. It's family owned."

John followed her lead, pointing out obstacles as they walked. Curious at the deft way she move about the neighborhood he decided to ask about it.

"You seem to know this city rather well. Lived here long?"

"I moved her after my family died. We had a cabin out in the country. A friend of my dad's brought me here and i just stayed here all my life." As the reached the curb she said, "Its just across the street."

Her ear clearing picked up the sound of the long line and crowd. Kris sensed John feeling of upset.

"Don't worry Gino's grandson always saves my table, wheter I show up or not."

John chuckled at the comment, and steered he rpast the crowds, so that they were led to a table in the corner. Helping her get seated, John ordered himself an iced tea, and sat across from her, glancing through the menu.

"You must know everyone in this town, blue eyes."

Kris ordered herself a pink leomonade "Just those within a ten mile radius. I can ge u a good deal at the deli."

Sitting back she became aware the the place was almost packed and that Gino was cooking up a storm. "you want my input of the menu or are you brave enough to go blind?"

She smiled at him, her eyes almost seeming to glow.

"The blind leading the blind.....where have I heard that before?"

Chuckling, John couldn't get over how unashamed she seemed of her disability. He'd dealt with people who wouldn't even leave their house after her kind of trauma. It impressed him deeply....she also wasn't bad to look at.

"What would you suggest?"

"The shrimp scampi and tomato pasta. It's very good, considering Gino's a half blind italian who cant read."

"are you bad mouthing me girl? After all the times I bring you food and for free. This is what I get?!" A large burly man walked over in mock seriousness. Kissng her forehead he said, "I see you brought a freind. its about time."

"Gine hush." Kris laughed and said,"I think we have two of my usuals and some chocolate cheese cake for desert."

Gino laughed and said to John, "Maybe you can tame her some, boy. Let her keep ordering fro you and she's gonna run you like mule." the old man laughed ad set the bread on the table.

"Have you ever seen a mule with curves like this? She can run me all she wants."

The response is spoke in fluent italian, and with an accompanying wink. In answer to Kris's unasked question, John shrugs, even though she cannot see it, and reverts to english.

"My mother was italian, and my father german. I can speak a bit of both. Those both sound great Kris."

Gino laughed. "Keep this one Kris. i like him." He clapped John on the shoulder and then headed back to the kitchen.

Kris was blushing and said, "Gino is like family to me." Reaching out she laid her hand over his, "Thank yo for asking me out. This is my first real date."

Their drink arrived and Kriss munch on a piece of garlic bread.

John sipped his iced tea for a moment and then spoke.

"Trust me, I'm having a blast. This is the first relaxation I've had all week."

Reaching over he snagged a piece of garlic bread for himself and munched it absently before asking a question.

"How'd you learn this area so well?"

"My guardians used to let me walk around the town, to learn the area. I didn't want to have to be dependant on someone to take care of me. It took a while but eventually, by memorizing the number of steps I have to take to get to anyone point, I learned my area."

The food arrived and she said, "Prepare for a treat."

John smiled and dug in happily, enjoying the exquisite food, though his eyes never left her, she was realy quite wonderful to look at.

"I'm pretty lucky to wind up with a pretty neighbor AND good food nearby. Though I'll have to bring you by my place after my kitchen is set up. I make a mean stir fry."

"I love Chinese." Licking sauce from the coner of her mouth she said, "I eat out mostly though I am quite capable of cooking for myself. Its amzing who some people let obstacles stop them."

Sipping her drink she smiled at John. Since the resturant was illuminated by candels she was able to keep her eyes open.

He was very handsome, the wolf saw a possible mate, while the woman was unsure of him. However neither of them were aware that their lives were about to chage drastrically.
