Have you ever known anyone who thought they could see thier own death? If so were they right and about how long passed between seeing it & having it happen. Here lately I have seen my own death repeatedly. In various ways it changes almost everytime, but I sometimes get overwhelmed with the sense of impending doom, & that my life is almost over.

My first instinct were I to know this 100% would be to reach out to everyone I love and hold them tight for what may be the last time, But to be totally honest all I want to do is disappear. that way if I'm not too close to them emotionally when I am gone it will lessen thier loss. I know that sounds twisted but ohh well.....

Believe me, it's a much more common approach than you think.

I know what you mean. Say your goodbyes, then just fade out of the picture. Better that way.

I forgot to add that I have discussed this with both my Phsycologist & counsoler. They both kinda blew it off and acted like it was no big deal. I am going back later this week.

No fading allowed, buster! You'd be missed way too much for that to ever happen.

And yes, I've heard stories of people who somehow knew they were going to die.

Geez, I'm sorry, but I've only known people that have seen someone elses death.....except my grandfather when he started talking about death and getting to see his mother he never knew. But he was old and it was just a matter of time for him anyway.

My mother dreamed of her father's death two weeks before it happened....

And I had this strong feeling to "go see Terry", a friend of mine's brother, about two weeks before he committed suicide.....

Another gf of mine knew about her husbands death months before he died.

So it's hard to say.

Another gf has this 'doom' thing happen to her every spring. She's in her 40's now, but in her twenties, she thought she was going to die. It still happens to her, but she knows now, for her, it's a seasonal occurence.

Sorry I can't answer your question.

Been there, done that.

It's not that strange to dream of your death. But it doesn't always mean you're going to die. Could be any major change that will require adjustment.
