I'm meeting up with a few lit freaks on the third, but other than that I'll be scarce until I'm back on the seventh.

Don't submit anything until I get back, damnit! :D

good trip huh?

well, I'd say the destinations were good, the actual traveling... interesting doing it alone with a two year old. I won't say never again, well actually I will, since she'll be older next time. :D

missed you guys too, tess, ang.

I'll be writing for the next few days, not sure if I'll post em all at once or just one at a time... right now I'm blowing up my writing chair.

I used to do long drives (i.e., hundreds of miles) alone with my kids when they were little. And you know two kids isn't two--it somehow morphs exponentially, lol, especially in a moving vehicle. My method for surviving that particular torture--stop whenever they say and give them whatever they want. Call it weak, call it caving in--I care not. :D

I always arrived at the destination poorer but with my sanity intact.

I once did an 11-hour drive--me and my kids, aged about 4 and 8 at the time, where they spent at least two-thirds of the trip singing the following (from Animaniacs)--

Are we there yet?
I'm hungry. I'm tired.
How far?

My nose is snotty.
I wanna move my body.
Need to use the potty.
Better stop the car.

It was cute about the first 300 times. You think poetry is hard? Sheeit....
