Presiderp Donald, trolling the media and press ?

(Daring the press and media to report it, and print it-
" I dare you. My MAGA fanatics will scream "fake news.")

The problem with Trump’s Revolutionary War airports isn’t the airports

July 5, 2019

"In June of 1775,” he said, reading from a teleprompter, “the Continental Congress
created a unified army out of the revolutionary forces encamped around Boston and
New York and named after the great George Washington, commander in chief.

“The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge,” he continued,
“found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis
of Yorktown. Our army manned the [unclear]. It rammed the ramparts. It took over
the airports. It did everything it had to do. And at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’
red glare, it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their star-spangled banner
waved defiant.”

- Presiderp Donald

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...mps-revolutionary-war-airports-isnt-airports/

“The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant,”
then-press secretary Sean Spicer insisted.

Trump himself tried to imply that there was some secret meaning to be uncovered.

In keeping with Trump's general refusal to admit mistakes. It raises a key question,
though:

Does Trump do the same thing in private conversations with other world leaders,
doubling-down on mistakes in lieu of admitting that he'd made one?

How far does his reflexive self-defense extend?

Trump claiming that Revolutionary War soldiers were dispatched to lock down airfields
is the sort of gaffe that we've seen from other elected officials in the past.

His refusal to admit even simple mistakes like this, though? That's pretty new.

The Justice Department has abandoned an arguably unprecedented
lawsuit seeking to confiscate the proceeds of a book written by an
aide to former First Lady Melania Trump.

Government lawyers filed a notice with a federal judge Monday saying they are
voluntarily dismissing the suit filed last October against Stephanie Winston Wolkoff,
who served as a volunteer adviser to Mrs. Trump and came out last year with a
tell-all book, "Melania and Me."

The move was one of the first by the Biden administration to throw in the towel
on litigation initiated by the Trump administration.

While the Justice Department has a long history of successful legal action against
CIA agents and others who go public with national security secrets, cases outside
that arena are few, typically involving law enforcement personnel who leak sensitive
information related to pending investigations.

Many former White House aides have published memoirs, without legal repercussions
There is no known case of an adviser to the First Lady facing legal consequences
for divulging information learned at the White House.

The suit against Winston Wolkoff alleged that by publishing the book she breached
her "fiduciary duty" and a nondisclosure agreement she signed with a White House
contracting officer in August 2017.

The one-page court filing dismissing the case provided no explanation for the
department's retreat.

Trump defense:

— His attorneys argue that Trump, even if convicted and barred from office,
would challenge the results in court should he run again.

— Trump’s attorneys refute Democrats’ assertion that the ex-president allowed the riot
to continue, arguing that he was “horrified” and sought to act immediately to stop the
violence. This could up the pressure on the managers to call witnesses from the
White House who could testify otherwise.

— And, true to form, the brief cites discredited The Gateway Pundit to suggest rioters
were actually anti-Trump forces. As our colleagues noted in their story, law enforcement
has contested this debunked conspiracy theory. So have Hill Republicans, including
Trump ally House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy

It didn’t take long for observers to point out Schoen’s ugly, implied threat
to the Senate, his contradictory claim that the second Trump impeachment
was both rushed and too slow.

His hypocritical attack on the House Democrats for using a “movie”-like video
as evidence — just minutes before doing the same himself.

Did Schoen just threaten that there could be a second civil war if Trump is convicted?

Sell that on TV!

Michigan state Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey (R) this week appeared
to double down after calling the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol a "hoax."

Shirkey first made the claim at a Hillsdale County Republican Party dinner last week.

“That wasn't Trump's people. That's been a hoax from day one. That was all prearranged,"
Shirkey said. “It was arranged by somebody who was funding it. … It was all staged."

During a session on the Senate floor on Wednesday, Shirkey could be heard speaking
to Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist (D) on an open microphone.

"The temperature is hot," Gilchrist can be heard saying.

"I frankly don't take back any of the points I was trying to make," Shirkey explains.
"I take back some of the words I chose."

Trump Loyalists try to sell the idea, that I should not believe the lies that my very own eyes
and ears are telling me.

Trump's fuckers had identifying tags during the attack and the ransacking of the Capitol
building.

Are Trump Loyalists trying to tell us that it, perhaps, was not Antifa ?

Sens. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) read aloud some of Tanden's tweets, including her criticism
of Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Ted Cruz of Texas
and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

"I’m concerned that your personal attacks about specific senators will make it more
difficult for you to work with them," Portman said. "Just to mention a few of the thousands
of negative public statements, you wrote that Susan Collins is the worst, that Tom Cotton
is a fraud, that vampires have more heart than Ted Cruz. You called leader McConnell:
Moscow Mitch and Voldemort, and on and on.”

They (Republicans) are performers for right-wing media, not legislators or problem-solvers.

Their outrage-of-the-day focus fits that mind-set and indeed gets them play time on
right-wing outlets. Those outlets in turn incentivize Republicans to generate more
content for the media.

There is a bargain of sorts: Right-wing media won’t cover bad news for Republicans;
Republicans come on their shows to keep the outrage and the ratings high.

Republicans would have little to talk about if not for these concocted non-issues,
given that they have lost the White House and Senate and no longer claim support
for obstructionism (even among Republicans).

bodysong comment -

There is a time and place for everything.

Democrats demand a standard of excellence, because there are some actions and words
that cannot be tolerated. Democrats made their choice, of upholding standards in their ranks.
Truth is the truth.

Not so very long, ago, Republicans had their own standard of excellence. There were actions
and words, that they could not tolerate. Trump entered the picture, and suddenly all of their
speeches about decency became ashes in their mouths. The slide down the slippery slope
began at the cash level. Grifting and theft of money was easily forgiven in the Republican
community. Sexual scandal was not. That changed, because Trump.

Truth never had a strong point in the Republican community. Truth was given a
merry-go-round carousel ride on the spin machine, that made everyone dizzy.

Real journalists never lost sight of the truth - with so much grifted and stolen cash,
Republicans could afford to hijack the truth, and sell spin stories in truth's place.

The Biden administration has taken two major steps that helped hasten vaccine production in the near term.

Even before Biden was inaugurated, his aides determined that by invoking the Korean
War-era Defense Production Act, the federal government could help Pfizer obtain the
heavy machinery it needed to expand its plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The Trump administration had repeatedly invoked that law, but its order for Pfizer only
covered single-use supplies like plastic liners, not durable factory equipment.

How is this for a Trump-like lie ?

After Joe Biden's bill passed, this is what Mitch McConnell had to say -

The People do not need the money.

- Mitch McConnell

Fuck no, Mitch McConnell the billionaire does not need a stimulus check.

"All the signs are that we are on our way out of this. "

"And this is vastly more expensive than should’ve been approved at this juncture."

“Borrowing from our grandkids to do socialism for rich people is a terrible way to get
help to families who actually need it,” McConnell said...

(Hypocrite Mitch McConnel assisted in providing trillions in tax breaks to wealthy patrons.)

...of an effort to boost the checks from $600 to $2,000, which is supported by President
Donald Trump. “Washington Democrats took President Trump’s suggestion and skewed
it so the checks would benefit even more high-earning households.”

- Mitch McConnell

Judy Woodruff to Mitch McConnell:

The bill President Biden signed today, you have said it's the worst piece of legislation
you have seen pass in your time in the Senate. And yet it helps working-class Americans
There is support in it for the unemployed. There is support for health care workers and
for schools. And the polls are showing 70 percent of Americans like it.

Why are they wrong?

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/s...elief-election-reform-and-the-filibuster-rule

Yes, Mitch McConnell lied to Judy Woodruff.

He played a pretend game of ommision-his complete ignorance of how bad things are,
after a year of his failure to order the funds to be released a number of times. Then he cries
that the money is already there, and Joe Biden is demanding the very same amount.
But, he omits the fact that the funds are locked up, and Joe Biden cannot use the excess funds
for the purposes that he has in mind - Like Saving America

The Trump Loyalists in office held onto the funds, until they had proof that the nation's vote
was not in Trump's favor.

Say good-by to your good health, your job, your condo, your children,
your spouse, your pets, your car, and finally your right to vote, because
Trump and Mitch McConnell do not think that you are deserving of help.

And say good-bye to your rights to having a small family business-
That is robbing a corporation of an opportunity to have a new subsidiary !
Mitch McConnel's friends do not like that.

Glory days of Trump's gold-plated 757 seem far away as plane sits idle at a sleepy airport

- Kate Bennett
- Pete Muntean
- CNN

Trump's personal Boeing 757 sits idle on an airport ramp in Orange County, New York
about 60 miles north of Manhattan.

One engine is missing parts. The other is shrink-wrapped in plastic. The cost
to fix and get it flyable could reach well into the high six-figures...

"Fixing one of those engines would easily cost six figures."

Flight records accessed by CNN show the 757 hasn't been flown at all since
Inauguration Day, when Trump's use of Air Force One ended, leaving him
to less showy modes of transport.

The choice to leave it outside at a northeastern airport, exposed to the elements,
has baffled aviation experts who spoke with CNN.

Snow, rain, and moisture can lead to metal corrosion of the airframe and the engines --
hard to detect, and, in severe cases, catastrophic.

Trump's 1997 Cessna 750 Citation X (just eight seats) - the plane Trump flew
on when he made his first post-presidency trip back to Manhattan earlier this
month.

Trump's 757 was almost twenty years old when he bought it.
A plane past its prime with decaying mechanics and exorbitant storage fees.

The cost to fly a Boeing 757 is about $15,000 to $18,000 per hour...

An aircraft charter broker tells CNN the smaller Trump plane would cost
about $5,000 per hour to fly.

The Strange Saga of Lauren Boebert’s Pro Wrestler Paternity Case

However, there was no father listed in either Boebert’s Orlando Sentinel birth announcement
or her birth certificate, and no record exists for such a divorce in Seminole County Court’s
online system, which goes back well into the 1980s and shows no hits for divorce cases
involving “Shawn Roberts.” (There were also no hits for “Shawn Bentz” or “Shawna Bentz,”
as well as no relevant hits for “Shawna Roberts.”) A September 2020 Colorado Sun article
by Nancy Lofholm, meanwhile, says that “Boebert has glossed over any mention of a father.”
(Though the next line of the article notes that various police reports showed Boebert’s
birthdate as being either December 15, 1986, or December 19, 1986, her birth certificate,
other paternity lawsuit documentation and her newspaper birth.)
