Eve Wolf had the life she always wanted she never had money but she was happy with what she saw, and it was nice to grow up with a very good friend. He was older then her but he always knew how to make her laugh and that was important when he ended up moving away. Life after that kind of sucke but she was really happy to have the time with Alex, he meant everything to her. Alex was really handsome and very sweet, yet he sometimes seemed really sad and that made her just wanna cry sometimes. But when he moved for what ever reason since he never told her, she misse him and thought about him. She graduated with honors but sadly couldn't go to college because she had no money and couldn't get any. But the whole time he was away she had no friends, which made it even harder to want to go out and do things.

But after a couple years now at the age of twenty she had read the paper and saw a bad accident, and when she read the name everything changed and she was as grey as a damn ghost. Right now it was kinda hard to think so she packed a bag and went to the hospital that he was stuck in. Eve told the nurse she was family since only family could see him and when she went in he was out cold with a bandage over his eyes. Tears went up in her eyes and couldn't help but wonder if she could have done something. She sat beside him and placed her hand gently on his and sighed a little bit. Right now everything just seemed to be right out of control and she hated it.

Alex Winter, 42, stirred briefly in his hospital bed when he felt a hand on his. With very little recollection of what had happened in the last 48 hours, he wasn't sure just where he was, or who could possibly be sitting there attached to the hand . . . he was pretty sure it was female.

All I remember is driving back to my home town for a quick trip to the bank to settle some family business. As I turned off the Interstate, a semi blew thru a stop light and slammed into my car. I was unconscious for quite a while . . . only now beginning to regain consciousness for more than a few minutes at a time.

The doctors haven't told me much yet . . . except that my injuries will take several weeks in the hospital and then a few months of rehab . . . and then, the real kick in the ass . . . my eyesight will be minimal. No more driving, reading with the assistance of very strong glasses . . . and probably not working again for at least a year.

Turning toward the side of the bed where someone is seated, "Who's here?"

She didn't know if he was going to b asleep but when he asked who was there she couldn't help but smile and squeezed his hand. "IIt's me" Eve said softly and hoped he would still remember her since it had been a while, but right now nothing but him mattered she knew he would be legally blind but even legally blind he would still be able to do more then someone totally blind. She harmonized a short tune so he would know it was her since she had written music since she was very young, she sighed softly and felt really bad for him and had no idea what was going to happen now with what has happened. "Im here now and im not going to leave your side Alex I promise, you jump I jump" A tear fell down her cheek and onto his hand, she was afraid he would have died in that crash since it said he was in critical condition but it wasn't that bad thank god. Perhaps because she saw the pictures of his car and the drivers, she was just glad he wasn't dead. He had been the only one to really understand her.

Just the sound of your voice was enough to bring back a flood of memories . . . although I have been gone for several years, I still remember you blossoming into an outgoing and sparkling teenager. Quickly calculating in my mind, you must be at least 20 by now.

"Eve!! How did you find me?"

she had a smile on her face and was happy he remembered her and it was easy to answer a smile heard in her voice "I read the paper it said what hospital you were in, I googled it and here I am. I said I was family so just go with it. I knew you wouldn't mind me saying that." She kissed his head happy to see he is ok and it could have been worse.

"I'm absolutely glad you took that chance. Guess I can claim you as my little sister, for now." Lying back for a minute, I take you hand in mine and squeeze it. "Looks like I'm going to be here for a week or so; then some physical therapy and learning how to move around with limited eyesight."

Lots of thoughts coming to the front of my mind again . . . memories of you . . . thoughts of you after I moved away . . . and now that you are 20, maybe some of my thoughts are going in a whole new direction.

"Maybe I will need to hire you as my nurse while I'm going thru all this recovery?"

She smiled at him rather happily and ran her free hand against his cheek she couldn't help but be really happy that he still had two legs and two arms and eye sight that maybe bad very limited but at least he didn't have worse. Looking at him she sighed softly "I will be here the whole time Alex got enough with me to be here a month if need be. I could be your nurse I don''t see why not" She offered herself to him in the way of helping him and was really happy he was so glad to see her. Now he would just need time to heal and was just greatful it wa omething rather simple compared to what it could be

"Well, Eve, let's see how it goes . . . I don't want to be in here forever. The reason I was on my way back to the city was to sell my parents' house. Maybe I should just move in there for a while to continue my recovery."

Not really thinking about what the future holds, but beginning to feel really comfortable with you by my side. Our age difference is not so much of a problem any more.

"There is plenty of room in that old house for you to have your own room . . . almost like an apartment . . . what do you think?"

She heard what he suggested "Well I suppose I can make it work" She said in a serious tone but then started to laugh. Trying to get him to laugh her gentle way she laughed was rather soft and angelic in its own way. "That will do just fine Alex don't worry about it, only thing you need to focus on is your recovery. Doctors told me that you were lucky to have lost some of your eye sight not the whole thing. You have all your limbs so thats a good thing, look at the bright side of things which I can't imagine how hard that must be for you"

I am quite sure that we will catch up with each other as time moves forward . . . finding out what has happened in our lives since moved out of town and lost touch with you. I have had a couple of serious relationships, but neither lasted very long . . . I wonder if you have always been in the back of my mind and I didn't realize it.

Lying here in this hospital bed . . . eyes still covered, several bandages still in place, unable to move like I am used to . . you feel so natural sitting beside me. I take you hand and tug on it a bit, hoping you take the hint to come closer to me.

She watched people come and go around the building from her own little slice of heaven, the view of the hospital room was breath taking and it was really nice that they had the view sadly however he couldn't see. Feeling him tug on her hand she smiled and leaned in a bit and didn't know what he wanted but she would soon find out she had a feeling, no relationships have ever happened to her, perhaps she was just waiting for mr right, and she had no idea what to feel about alex, he was older and handsome that much she did know.

Feeling you give in to my pull on your hand, I reach across my body with my other arm, my bandaged hand behind your neck, pulling your face closer to mine. Inhaling deeply, your scent filling m nostrils, the scent I remember of a teenager, now blossomed into a young lady aroma, only faintly tinged with a light perfume.

Not sure if I am doing the right thing, but I open my lips slightly, "I want to feel your lips on mine, Eve I think I have waited too long for this."

It made her nervous him wanting to kiss her, it had nothing to do with him but with her. For she had no expirance with men and never kissed anyone, but she felt herelf being pulled in and when he kissed her, her eyes closed and she just followed his lead on ho to kiss. Her free hand went to his cheek, it felt nice, it felt wonderful how all she was feeling could'nt be expressed into words at this moment.

The kiss was just a few seconds, but the emotion that flowed was obvious; yes, your inexperience with men showed, but that did not detract from the feelings that were exchanged. As the kiss broke, and you sat back in your chair, we were both quiet for a couple of minutes.

The entry of my Doctor broke the silence as he came in for his morning visit. He plans on removing the bandages from my eyes tomorrow and then talking about my release from the hospital two days from now. He asked about my plans for the next few weeks so that we can arrange the therapy I will need.

I introduced you as a long time friend who will be staying with me in my parents' house in the city so that I will have someone to look after me on a daily basis. That way I will be able to maintain my therapy schedule without having to stay in another facility. After a few questions from him, the doctor agrees with my plan and tells us to start making arrangement for my discharge in two days.

Eve didn't know the first thing about taking care of people but she knew Alex would help her as much as she would help him. She listened to the doctor and couldn't help but smile hearing he was going to get out in a couple of days. So after the doctor left and the nurse came in with his pain meds she got out her phone and made a few arrangments, And once she was done she tucked her cell phone away and looked at Alex "I bet you are happy to get out of here I know I would be" Eve still couldn't believe that he had kissed her the kiss was such a nice eeling and made her feel safe and wanted. A feeling she hadn't felt in a very long time, she took his hand in her own and couldn't wait for the adventure to begin with him, would be nice to see him back home.

Pointing to the table beside the bed, "You will find the keys to my parents' house in there. Do you remember where we used to live?" Of course, you do, and nod with a smile.

"It would probably be a good idea for you to go there over today and tomorrow and make sure everything is ready. You will find my credit card in my wallet. Take that with you so that you can go shop for new bedding, towels, etc. and whatever you think we need to stock the kitchen. I will move into the master suite and there is a small bedroom across the hall that you can use."

"Eve, I trust you completely . . . whatever decisions you make about what we need . . . no question on my part . . . understood. These pain meds are going to knock me out for a while, so why don't you take some time and get out of here? One thing, another kiss before you leave."

Eve smiled and leaned in kissing him again stroking his cheek "You rest now" She said simply and she grabbed her bag and she left. She went to the mall in there town and grabbed everything they may needed and spending most of the day in the mall, since she had to buy all sorts of things. When it came down to it once in his home she began to clean it from head to toe, not that it was really messy but she wanted to rearrange it so it would be easier for him to move. She stocked up everything in the kitchune, it was going to be nice eeing him in this home again. Eve could never imagine anyone else living here but him. Perhaps because she had always felt something for him, she didn't really know that time. When she saw the time she just decided to pass out on the couch, she had a long day and sleep took her quickly.

But once the morning came she was up and out of that room, there the second vistors were allowed to see friends or family. It was nice to have someone there in her life, ever since her parents died a year ago she wasn't quite right after that.

The pain meds helped me rest thru-out the day. The physical therapist was in and worked with me to be able to walk with minimal assistance, a requirement to my being discharged in two days. I was a bit disappointed that you did not make it back, but realize that with the list of things I had given you to do, you were probably exhausted by the end of the day. Damn, Alex, what are these feelings you are having about Eve?

When you came in the next morning, I could tell it was you just by your presence in the door With the bandages off my eyes, I am wearing dark glasses so that my eyes will get used to the light again. So far, all I can see are shapes, but that is a start . . . and I have to admit, seeing your 'shape' in my room is definitely a good thing.

"Where's my good morning kiss?"

Walking over to him she bent down kissing him softly on the lips and sat beside him on the bed "Im sorry that I couldn't get to you last night, with everything I had to do ended up passing out on your couch" She stroked his chek and knew there was nothing to apoligize over but felt like she needed to say it any way. Looking into his eyes she wondered. "What can you see Alex?" She asked in an almost cooing sound, she wondered what would happen with everything going on how the relationship would turn out.

"Not much yet with these dark glasses on; but the doctor says it will get better with time. Right now, just some hazy shapes. But, somehow, I knew it was you as soon as you walked thru the door. Eve, I can't wait until I can see you better . . . and see how you've grown up from that teen-ager I remember from several years ago."

A nurse walks in and tells me it's time for a walk around the unit, starting to get my balance again. Turning to you, "And since you are going to be his care taker when he leaves, you should come with us and see how we help him maintain his balance."

She shows you how to help me sit up on the edge of the bed and how to assist me in standing . . . and we take off for a slow walk around the floor. Worn out when we get back to the room, she shows you how to help me back into bed and how to lift my legs onto the bed.

Damn hospital gowns, sliding around on my legs as I get back in bed, showing you a good bit of my thighs . . . oh, well, better get used to that . . . both of us!!

She smiled at what he said and when the nurse showed her how to get him up and down in the bed since she was helping the nurses out she watched as he grumbled about the gown she couldn't help but giggle a little she tried hard to be quite with her giggle, but when she saw his thigh she swolled a bit and got very hot seeing part of his body, something she hadn't seen or havent seen in a long time was kinda hard to even breath but once he was in bed she sat down beside him and kissed his forhead she felt like she really mattered to someone, it felt lovely.

Even tho my vision is limited, I'm pretty sure you turned a bit red as my gown slid around . . . doesn't bother the nurses any, but a bit of a challenge for you. Thinking you better get used to it, because you'll probably see even more when I get home and you're the only one there to help me get dressed . . . and everything else. Damn . . . hadn't thought about all this!! Who going to help me shower . . . put my dick back in my pants after I take a leak?

"You ok with all this, Eve? You better ask the nurse any questions you have before we leave here in two days."

She looked over at him and nodded "Just going to need to get use to it again..." She said simply but sadness poured out of her as she sighed a bit. She had said again meaning he would want to know what happened looking at him. "Had to do it for my father my parents were in a bad car accident my mother died instantly and my father I took care of him for a month but he had a stroke and he died in my arms'"

"Are you sure you want to go thru this again with me, Eve? I can definitely afford to hire someone to come in and help if you think this will be too much for you."

I definitely want you with me, but don't want my being so needy right now to push us apart, rather than pull us together.

"You've got a couple of days to think about it. OK?"

She got a little fustrated "Its fine Alex if I didn't think I could do it I wouldn't have offered, now enough of this it will be fine' She said happily.
