Secret Santa

Woodnymph brought this up (and she may have been joking) in the Christmas thread, but it seems like it could be a fun idea, though I have no idea how it would in reality. Is there a way for us to do a Secret Santa exchange? Some kind of gift giving? Or at the very least a card exchange?

Anyone know how that kind of thing would work or if it even would work?

Personally I don't mind select people having my physical address, besides some already do, but I can see the need for e delivery if lots of people we don't know played.

I agree on address if they are Pmed to chosen people and not posted on board for all to see I'm fine, some already have my addy , or phone number. I don't think those who are unknows on this board should really be here signing up anyway, we wouldn't be able to trust that they would not leave their chosen recipient hanging.

Everyone would pick a number which would decide who they send a gift to

Does that sound feasible and acceptable? Would we have a price limit? A theme- like gag gifts? Would people offer up ideas for themselves or favorite colors or anything?

I'm in on that , sounds good how about we pm the organiser (you ) a list of likes, dislike, and addy then you forward along. themes I don't know i wait for the popular vote on that one, and I'd say do what you can on cost , not limit those who wanna give, and accept what can be givin .

I'd love to sign up but does me being in the UK throw things out of whack?

I'll happily send something over seas (though i need postage time to do so, so it gets to the reciever before Christmas) but i don't want anyone to be lumped with having the postal cost of sending something to me.

Crim, I can relate to that, but I know that I can trust the AH regulars. As Nymphy pointed out, the irregulars won't be participating.

I look at it like this love, many of the people here trust each other enough to tralvel for hours and stay in each others homes, an addy among friends if not publicly posted should be fine in my book. thats why it will be limited to those who have been around , not vigin posters who have not earned any trust.
