I know some words in Spanish, but I certainly would NOT say that I speak Spanish! lol (Hell, the things I learned in my Frosh year at high school preschoolers are learning on Sesame Street now!)

No it isn't Parisian French, but he can communicate with French people fine.

Interesting stories. My father was the son of a dirt poor cotton farmer in south Louisiana. French was what was spoken in the home- he learned English at school. If the nuns caught anyone speaking French at school they would make them carry bricks around the schoolyard for punishment. When he calls his father on the phone, they speak French.

Speaking of my grandfather, I remember my father saying to me, "Your papa is a good man. You have never heard him cuss, have you?" I never did. Until my cousins taught me some French cuss words...
