A Win for the Second Amendment in California as a Federal Appeals Court Rules Pandemic Gun Store Closures Unconstitutional
By Jennifer Oliver O'Connell | Jan 21, 2022 2:00 PM ET

The wheels of justice sometimes turn slowly, but when it is a just outcome, it’s often more satisfying.

From Fox11:

An order closing gun stores in Los Angeles County in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic two years ago was unconstitutional, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

In its ruling, a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals determined that both Los Angeles and Ventura counties had violated the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms when they shut down gun and ammunition shops in March 2020 as nonessential businesses during the beginnings of the coronavirus pandemic.

At that time, the National Rifle Association and other pro-gun groups filed suit in Los Angeles federal court against Gov. Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva and other officials, alleging both state and local policies and enforcement practices violated citizens’ rights.

In rejecting those decisions, Judge Lawrence Van Dyke wrote for the appellate panel — meeting in Pasadena — that the Second Amendment “means nothing if the government can prohibit all persons from acquiring any firearm or ammunition. But that’s what happened in this case.”

We really should just let California go.....

I did, but I still have many friends there. We cannot allow California Democrats to conspire with the CCP and allow them to establish a beachhead on our continent.:D;)

I understand, same here, family too.

But they want to live in that, they choose to.

Too late. ;)

California might fall into the sea, but not from the "Big One."

Many do not want to live under this Governor but are condemned by circumstance to do so. We might need at some point to infiltrate some Green Berets fluent in Wokish and Valley Girl to build up an insurgent force to retake what used to be a great state and secure its strategic value. :D;)

They certainly are nonessential businesses.

The governor and his AG have a couple more losses coming their way.

Although I do believe Goth is right, it's too damn late to save CA. Like a drunk, it's going to have to hit rock bottom before it can start a recovery process.

Quite the task.

I figured building a wall around it would be easier. LOL

That's a nice opinion.

Unfortunately for you more liberal people think otherwise.
