Seattle M needs BSDM Training

Have you posted this message on the BDSM board? That might be a better place to look for this information.

I'm a newly single man who is just entering a relationship with a woman who is experienced in BDSM. Circumstances have prevented us from "formalizing" the relationship but that is going to change very very soon. My sexual history is pretty vanilla, and I need some pointers. She is a versatile dom/sub. Sometimes she likes to give orders, and sometimes she likes to be controlled. I need to be prepared for either and would appreciate any advice or instruction I can get from women with the same exotic tastes. I am EXTREMELY open minded, and willing to try anything. Email or phone is good, face to face would depend on the person.
I'll second Glynndah's advice on visiting BDSM Talk if you're looking for ideas (be sure to check out the BDSM Library sticky at the top of the forum before posting, and it should also give you ideas; look for the interest surveys, as they go through every kink and preference imaginable and will give you both a better idea of what you're into) and BDSM Personals if you're seeking people.

I guess I'm confused as to why you would even need email, phone or in-person meetings to learn about BDSM and get ideas for your play. Is your partner okay with you looking outside the relationship?

The forums at http://www.collarme.com are also great places to ask questions and learn about the lifestyle. They also list local kink events and such, if you're interested in the scene in Seattle. I'd also suggest checking out The Wet Spot, as it has seminars, events, socials, a good library and a large play space.
