OOC: Alisha (Olsen) James, long raven hair, green eyes, 5’6”, 125 lbs.
Shawn Ariel 34 years old. 5’11 205 pounds. Brown hair and green eyes.

The Story Line: Alisha born to parents who wanted a son. Unloved but still able to see the beauty of the world in the 1800’s. She was 18 years of age when Robert James, 20 years her senior came around looking for a wife before he was too old to start a family. He had known Alisha’s father from the previous war as they both served in the army. A marriage was arranged as Alisha’s parents were all too happy to accept a dowry and as a gift Robert gave Alisha a stallion that she named hero. She had an affinity with animals and hero was just that to her. Soon after the marriage, Robert took her to his ranch outside of town that included several acres for both cattle and farming. During the journey west he never touched her.

When they got to his ranch he introduced her to John and Mary Flynn, Irish immigrants who helped to run the ranch. John organized the farm hands for both farming and cattle herding work. Mary took care of organizing the cleaning and cooking help. Their house was a good mile away from the big mansion type house.

As they went into their new home Robert led Alisha to the bedroom, ripped off her clothing and with no preliminary fornicated with her. He told her he had married her to get an heir. Every day he would take her and when her time of month came about and she was not pregnant he would go to town and get drunk. When he came home he would enter the house with a thin branch and beat her backside with it for not getting pregnant. This went on for 10 years.

One night, She lay under her husband, feeling nothing as his hard manhood thrust in her over and over again. Oh how she hated him with every fiber of her being. Every stroke was painful devoid of lubrication and passion.

Suddenly, he stopped moving; she figured he was done with his disgusting actions. She waited but he did not roll off of her, as was his custom. His body was like dead weight crushing her. Finally she mustered all her strength and pushed him off of her.

“Robert?, Robert!”

She shook him and he did not move. She looked at him closely, what was wrong with him. She put on a robe and ran outside. John was out there working on some fences.

“John!, John, come here!”

Her voice had real panic in it and John Flynn came running.

“What is it Missus”

She told him Robert was not moving and John ran into the house and looked him over.

“Sorry Missus, he’s dead”

Elation filled Alisha at those words and in the days that followed she set her plans to leave this hateful place. She wanted to give the ranch to the Flynn’s but they would not accept such a wonderful gift so Alisha offered a plan. She was leaving and they could run the ranch and when they wanted to buy it they could get in touch with her. They agreed on a price and all. She would let them know where she was at all times. So an agreement was made and Alisha, dressed in man’s clothing, carrying 2 six guns, saddled up Hero and rode away never planning to come back to the hated ranch.

A few years past and the Flynn’s made a go of the Ranch and wanted to buy it legally but did not know where Alisha was.

Alisha sat on her stallions’ back riding across the lush green fields. She was content and at peace with the world. She had been free and on her own now for three wonderful years, nobody to tell her what to do or when to do it and most importantly, no man in her life. Of course she took pains not to attract a man, in her men's clothing and her long raven hair tucked under a man's hat, who would know she was a woman.

Shawn Ariel’s Parents wanted him to be a priest but he knew he was not born for that calling. He was a wild free spirit growing up. He did however meet a young lady and fell in love. He was clerking to be a lawyer one day. She fell ill and died. This event tore him and he has taken many years to recover. He dove initially into alcohol mainly whiskey and became a gambler as well as sought the pleasures offered by prostitutes. He did beat the life of whiskey and prostitutes after ending almost rock bottom. He nearly ended up at the end of a hanging rope.

He has worked to clean up his act by taking jobs in several western towns as a peace officer deputy town marshal. He gambles occasionally but never drinks alcohol and absolutely no prostitutes. He has not even socialized with any women for many years. He received a telegram from an old friend town marshal that he owed a favor to. It seems he needed to handle legal papers and even find the lady to sign them. Not many can go in the territories needed to find her and bring her back safely.

Shawn arrived in town and met his marshal friend along with the Flynns. They briefed him on what he needed him to do. He did get a picture but not much more except she left and had no intention of coming back. Some very bad memories and bad experiences for her was how he took the whole story. Three years is a long time.

He saddled up his horse and took another horse to help carry supplies. He also made sure to take his rifles and put on his belt with two guns. He added a gun in one boot and a knife in the other. He put on a jacked and had a shoulder holster with guns under each arm. He rode off with his horses dressed in a black suit with a white shirt and fully armed. He met up with an Indian guide that he had known from his days as a full time gambler. Jack Blackbear was an old friend he asked to come along on the adventure and was paying him well. Jack had a knife on one side and a gun on the other side. He also had a rifle with his supplies.
“Jack, we need to find where she even started. This is not going to be easy. For all I know she could have gotten taken by bandits or even by coyotes.” he said to his long time friend.

They rode for a good bit then camped over night. Jack showed his hunting skills and that fed us for that night. They finally rode to a town a ways away. Now they can camp by Shawn’s preference in a hotel. Shawn got a nice shave from the barber and started asking around and showing the picture. He kept Jack with him so he wouldn’t run into trouble. Shawn found a card game of course and played some five card draw poker that more than paid for our hotel as well as a nice steak dinner. No one recognized the picture unfortunately.

Alisha had been ill equipped when she started off on her journey in the territories. All she knew was that she wanted to get new experiences. She hid her body beneath mens clothing and had starting going by the name of Al.

She loved to ride, her horse named Hero has been her best friend and most trusted travel partner. The past three years had done wonders for her emotional wellbeing. She still had the physical scars from her marriage, but they had faded.

She loved these kinds of days, when the sun was shining a blue sky, it wasnt too hot or too cold, it was perfect weather to sleep under the stars. She shot a rabbit for herself and made a campfire to roast it over. She looked over her supplies, seeing she needed to get some more ammunition soon.

She spent the night sleeping under the stars, smiling to herself, she had finally found her place in the world.

In the morning she saddled up Hero and rode toward the nearest town to load up on ammunition and other supplies before heading out toward her favorite spot, a bluff over looking a deep blue beatiful river. She loved to spend days and days there, it was so peaceful.

As morning came Shawn went to Jack’s room to find him sleeping on the floor in his sleeping bag roll.
“Why are you sleeping on the floor?” he asked.

“I don’t care for the comforts as you do Shawn. I prefer to sleep on the prairie under the stars. You always want to do things your way. How come you carry so many guns?” Jack asked.

“I won’t ever lose a gun fight because I ran out of bullets or guns I suppose.” He replied and smiled. He finally got his friend to eat a bite of breakfast with him. They rode most of the day through a couple of towns before they finally caught a break. No one recalled the woman but the horse, they did recall about a year and half ago. A gentleman not very large or masculine came by for supplies and headed out west.

A man? Shawn was convinced that this guy must have robbed her and took her horse. He would be the key to find out what happened to Alisha. He never met her but he was motivated to bring justice and have this guy hang at the end of a rope if he bushwhacked her. They rode harder and faster as they started to find the same clue a guy and that horse. The guy kept to himself just got supplies and most times didn’t say a word just paid and left. Within days they had caught up to a lead that spotted the guy and horse in the last 2 months.
No one ever speaks to him. No one knows where he goes or what he is about. Shawn was perplexed but determined as ever. He even camped in the prairie a couple of nights although complained about his back each morning to Jack. He teased Jack about his cooking skills compared to a hotel café.

"I feel we are just days away from finding that lowdown SOB and bringing him in. I just wonder if he will tell us what he did with poor Alisha." Shawn states outloud.

From her spot high on the bluff she sees two men camping. Who are these men she wonders. No one ever comes out here, she rides down and tries to investigate.

"I feel we are just days away from finding that lowdown SOB and bringing him in. I just wonder if he will tell us what he did with poor Alisha." Shawn states outloud.

Alisha gasps when she hears that, she hasnt heard her name is three years. Quickly she scampers back to her camp to ride hard from these two men. She quickly breaks camp and saddles her horse, mounting him. She rides hard and fast to get away. She does not want to go back to that life or that ranch.

She finds an out of the way grove and decides to stay there, from here she can make sure she hasnt been followed. She might even follow the two men to see what they want with her. She has taken great pains to make sure she has been left alone for the past three years.

Shawn and Jack sleep next to the campfire with their guns close looking up at the stars.
“You ever just look at the stars Jack? It makes you feel just how tiny and insignificant you are or just how your problems of today are meaningless in the big scope of things.” Shawn says and Jack starts to talk in a very educated philosophical way but then he hears Shawn snoring. He smiled as it didn’t take much sometimes to put him to sleep with talking philosophy. Shawn was intelligent but he was a person that enjoyed his thoughts and otherwise the conversation needed to stay simple or he would wonder…much less go to sleep in this setting.

In the early morning before the sun rises, Jack prepares breakfast and Shawn rustles around. Shawn takes a map and marks the towns that had seen hero and the bandit. He writes down dates.
“It’s a circle…he has been around here all along circling.” Shawn says outloud and smiles. They quickly eat and clean up then ride to the next town they suspect he has been at. Sure enough they state it wasn’t even days ago.

They ride back out on the prairie. Each town marshal has been alerted to take him into custody and they will check back regularly. The search now is for fresh tracks of a single horse. Jack is as good they get when he finds a fresh set of tracks. This time they will ride even in the dark to spot a campfire or anything.

Alisha stays hidden all day and making sure she doesnt make any noise to avoid detection. As the day turns into twilight she makes a small campfire to keep warm and to make some dinner. She slowly lays back and contemplates her moves tomorrow. She could go back to one town, but she had a close encounter there.

She decides to stay put, the two men did not ride near her during the day and figures she is safe for now. Pleased with her plan she closes her eyes and goes to sleep.

Shawn spots a fire in the distance. With it pitch black at night time…a camp fire can be seen for miles. He finds Jack and they sneak up to investigate. They in fact do see a horse and a man it seems in a sleeping bag roll sleeping.

Shawn has Jack circle around to the horse to make sure they are not being ambushed or set up. Jack has his rifle ready as Shawn moves in. Jack does give him a sign that the horse is hero from the picture they both studied. Shawn is full of adrenaline now. He moves in and tackles the sleeping figure. He hits the man with a forearm and takes his rope out with a knife. He ties the man’s wrists after using a piece of torn clothing to gag him. Shawn didn’t like the yelling and commotion as he tackled him.

“I would hang you now…but I am not a judge. I also need to know what you did to Alisha you dirty no good rat.” He said with dismay. He pulled the man up and put him on Jack’s horse to ride to the nearest town. Jack rode Hero to the town.

It was late but Shawn knocked on the door to the jail and the local deputy answered the door. He was watching a couple of cattle rustlers.
“Shawn Ariel. Deputy US Marshal. I have a possible murderer. I would like to take up with your Town Marshal in the morning. We will stay at the local hotel.” He states as Jack brings the man in and begins to ungag him…or her.

Shawn didn't torture the bandit but he was rough with a forearm to the back and a kick or two.

Shawn didn't torture the bandit but he was rough with a forearm to the back and a kick or two.

Alisha grunts as she feels the kicking but it is nowhere near the amount of pain her dead husband give her whenever she did not end up pregnant.

Alisha tries to fight him off, but she is no match for his strength. When he gags her she tries to spit it out and tell him to let her go.

When she gets thrown into the prison her hat falls off, making her appear more feminine. She sits on the bench in her cell, angry with herself that she let herself get caught.

She tries to lay down and get some sleep before morning, knowing she will have some bruises from Shawn. As she lays there for the first time she thinks back to this Shawn fellow, he did have a nice deep voice.

In the morning the jailer pulls her out and stands her before Shawn and whoever his partner is. She stares daggers at him.

The man doesn’t talk or tries to talk but the deputy tells him to shut up as he tosse shim into a cell. Shawn laughs and goes with Jack to the local hotel. Shawn of course finds a good poker game and cleans up till 2 am in the morning. He goes over the hotel for a good 3 hours of sleep. Jack makes sure to wake him with a bucket of water. A little payback for his friend staying out all night.
“JACK! If you weren’t my best friend…I would unload all my guns in you and reload to finish you off.” He yells but laughs.

They get cleaned up and eat breakfast before going back to the jail.
“Marshal, can I see the prisoner to question him?” he asks.

In the morning the jailer pulls her out and stands her before Shawn and whoever his partner is. She stares daggers at him.

“ALISHA JAMES…what did you do to her.” Shawn yells into her face. He knocks her hat off.

He is a bit stunned is this a guy?
“Whhh…who are you…Your name?” he asks with a huge bit of confusion. This guy didn’t like he could whip the local school teacher.

"My name is Alisha James, although I prefer the name Alisha Olsen. Now take these cuffs off of me, I havent done a single thing wrong."

"I have spent the last three years riding and being free, I havent done anything to anyone, that horse, Hero, is mine. The one thing my husband gave me that I love. If you harmed him I will kill you." Alisha rants.

Finally the jailer takes the cuffs off of her and lets her go free. She leaves the jail and starts trying to find her horse to take her far away from this horrible town.

"My name is Alisha James, although I prefer the name Alisha Olsen. Now take these cuffs off of me, I havent done a single thing wrong."

Shawn was wide eyed.

"I have spent the last three years riding and being free, I havent done anything to anyone, that horse, Hero, is mine. The one thing my husband gave me that I love. If you harmed him I will kill you." Alisha rants.

“I…I..I am sorry Alisha…Miss Olsen. I didn’t know. I can’t say how sorry I am.” Shawn states somberly. He never says he is sorry but he was groveling.

Finally the jailer takes the cuffs off of her and lets her go free. She leaves the jail and starts trying to find her horse.

“Look Miss Olsen…Alisha…Please let me try and make it up to you with at least breakfast or something. We came here to find you to help bring you back safely so the Flynn’s could buy your ranch.” He says almost desperate for her to listen to him.

“Please.” He states.

Alisha storms to the main road, "what have you done to my horse?" she yells angry.

"Look Miss Olsen…Alisha…Please let me try and make it up to you with at least breakfast or something. We came here to find you to help bring you back safely so the Flynn’s could buy your ranch.” He says almost desperate for her to listen to him.

"Let them take that ranch, I never wanted it anyways. I told them they could have it. Now are we done here? I would like to get back to riding the open praries."

Alisha storms around angry that she cant find Hero. Her stomach rumbles, "i will eat breakfast with you if you bring me my horse."

"Let them take that ranch, I never wanted it anyways. I told them they could have it. Now are we done here? I would like to get back to riding the open praries." She states

“The problem is that the law doesn’t see it as being that easy. You have to go back and sign it over in front of a judge.” He states.

"i will eat breakfast with you if you bring me my horse." She states.

He waves his hand and Jack brings Hero up.
“Sorry…Jack was watering Hero and making sure your horse was taken care of. It is a fine horse.” He states.

“You know I won’t question your desire to ride free…but I hope you understand why we thought it was so plausible for a bandit to take your horse much less add in some supplies…most bandits would kill for much less. I would be happy to not only ride back with you but make sure you got back in this area safely…I reckon I feel pretty low still you know…” Shawn says with his head down walking to the hotel café.

"Fine i will go back with you to the ranch and sign it over if I must, but make it quick. I want to move past that life." She turns her head away at the fear of returning to the city, "I wont have to return to that ranch will I?" She asked this without realizing she exposed a lot about herself.

They reach the cafe and she eats quickly, wanting to get on the road quickly so she can return to her life of riding free. She does not talk to this shawn fellow, just snarls at him.

"Why do you feel low? Because you roughed up a poor innocent woman?" Alisha asks angerly.

Finally they saddle up and ride out, Alisha feels like she is being lead to the slaughter.

"Fine i will go back with you to the ranch and sign it over if I must, but make it quick. I want to move past that life." She turns her head away, "I wont have to return to that ranch will I?" She asked

“No…we will ride in and go to the courthouse. Jack will fetch the Flynns.” He replies.

He smiles at how quickly she eats. Not a pleasant woman but it is to be understood from the bits and pieces he has been told.

"Why do you feel low? Because you roughed up a poor innocent woman?" Alisha asks angerly.

“I am not an angel maam…I have done plenty to be ashamed of. I will however say that my momma raised me to respect women and be a gentleman at all times. Even during my peace officer days I never raised a hand to any woman. I have been slapped, scratched, spit on, kicked in my manhood and even stabbed once.” He says somberly.

“I can say I didn’t know you was a woman but it still bothers me.” He adds as they saddle up and ride out.

“I can say I didn’t know you was a woman but it still bothers me.” He adds as they saddle up and ride out.

"It should bother you. I was just riding the prarie minding my own business and then you came along. Why couldnt you have assumed I was dead, it would have been better that way." Alisha states.

They ride on for a day. Alisa shoots a small rabbit for her dinner and makes a campfire to cook it. She doesnt offer any to the two men she is traveling with. She beds down for the night without even talk to the the two. She hates them for taking her back to her life that she was trying to forget.

"It should bother you. I was just riding the prarie minding my own business and then you came along. Why couldnt you have assumed I was dead, it would have been better that way." Alisha states.

“This was a job maam. Besides the money the Flynn’s are paying I owed the town marshal a favor. I reckon when I figured you got bushwhacked…the job became personal. I am sorry for the outcome but not for my feelings when I though you were a bandit.” He states and spits.

“I promise we will get you back as soon as we can to this life.” He states and looks to the sky. “We probably should make camp soon.”

Alisa shoots a small rabbit for her dinner and makes a campfire to cook it. She beds down for the night without even talk to the two.

Shawn rolls his eyes and smirks at Jack. He makes a separate campfire as apparently they are like separate tribes of some kind. Jack catches a snake to cook. They share beef jerky. Not much is said as they also lay down to bed for the night.

As morning breaks Shawn gets up grouchy.
“I hate sleeping on the damn ground.” He states. “Lets get moving to get across this god forsaken prairie.”

“I hate sleeping on the damn ground.” He states. “Lets get moving to get across this god forsaken prairie.”

Alisha rolls her eyes at Shawn in the morning, "You are worse than a pampered woman. How can you hate sleeping on the ground, under the gorgeous stars."

Alisha mounts Hero and smiles wide, she feels like she was born to ride a horse. "Lets ride quick so we can get to that old town and I can be free again."

They all ride in silence during the day. Alisha smiling softly, enjoying her time in the saddle even though she was headed somewhere she didnt want to go to with people she didnt want to be. She looks around and thinks it is a little too quiet on the prairie and says so to Shawn.

Just as she says something a band of robbers set upon the three.

Alisha rolls her eyes at Shawn in the morning, "You are worse than a pampered woman. How can you hate sleeping on the ground, under the gorgeous stars."

“The stars are fine…the hard ground and rocks are not. Jack says the same thing about me being a pampered woman but at least he does so in Cherokee…so I can pretend I don’t know he is insulting me.” He says and laughs. Jack smirks.

Alisha mounts Hero and smiles wide, she feels like she was born to ride a horse. "Lets ride quick so we can get to that old town and I can be free again."

Shawn and Jack ride in front on both sides of her.

They all ride in silence during the day. She looks around and thinks it is a little too quiet on the prairie and says so to Shawn. He nods and gives a look to Jack.

A band of robbers come out in front and behind the three. There is four in front and three behind them. Shawn would have gladly shot it out but with Alisha there was too much risk.
“Good day….we are just passing through.” Shawn says to the men. He calmly stares at them with their guns out.

This is your unlucky day. We plan to not only rob you and the injun but the woman might fetch a nice price with our trading. Toss your guns or we will shoot you off your horses.

Shawn nods at the leader. He tosses everything except what is in his boots. Jack does the same. He keeps a knife in his boot as well. Shawn nods at Alisha to comply for now. He even mouths do it for now. They get off the horses and the bandits roughly tie them up. One takes Alisha to the covered wagon and mentions for her to get dressed in a dress. What the bandits didn’t know is that Shawn and Jack loved to practice and compete against each other untying knots from rope. They did as a hobby of sorts.

They had four of the bandits with them while two took the horses and the one with Alisha. Shawn smiled and looked at Jack. He mouthed 5-4-3-2-1 like they were competing. Quickly both had the ropes undone. They reach down when they have the opportunity and take their knives out and leap onto the bandits and take out the four without much of a stir. Still the men did cry out while being killed. Shawn and jack armed themselves with guns and when the two that were taking care of the horses came out to see what was going on, they shot both mortally wounding them.
“That leaves one Jack.” Shawn says.

They creep around by the covered wagon behind the bushes and trees. The bandit is holding Alisha at gun point. Shawn drops his gun and puts his hands up.
“Okay lets talk this out…I am sure you want to be able to walk out of here as I do and she does.” Shawn says walking in front of him. Jack sneaks around the bushes and takes a position after climbing a tree.

He listens to the nervous bandit babble.
“I have no issue with giving you my word to let you ride out if you release the woman and don’t shoot anyone. Short of that…I don’t se you having a good today.” He says smirking. Jack takes aim waiting for the bandit’s move.

“At least take me as your hostage…after all I am Shawn Ariel US Deputy Marshal.” He states and shows his badge from inside his coat. The eyes on the bandit widen as Ariel has a reputation that even stretches to these parts. The bandit aims at Shawn while releasing Alisha and Jack shoots the bandit through the back and then to his head. Shawn is able to leap out of the way and he takes his knife out of his boot and flings into the chest of the bandit. Shawn leaps up as he sees him fall.

“Are you okay Alisha? Sorry…I didn’t mean to put you harm’s way. We should have smelled the trap the bandits had before we rode into it.” Shawn states checking on her.

“Are you okay Alisha? Sorry…I didn’t mean to put you harm’s way. We should have smelled the trap the bandits had before we rode into it.” Shawn states checking on her.

"I am fine, I am not some pampered woman from out east. All he wanted as to feel where he shouldnt, no worse than my dead husband." Alisha states angerily.

"I suppose I should thank you for saving me as it were, so thank you." Alisha walks away to try and find Hero.

She mounts Hero and gets ready to ride out.

"I am fine, I am not some pampered woman from out east. All he wanted as to feel where he shouldnt, no worse than my dead husband." Alisha states angerily.

“Just the same I am glad you are okay.” Shawn states.

"I suppose I should thank you for saving me as it were, so thank you." Alisha walks away to try and find Hero.

“No thanks needed. I feel we messed up in letting them sneak up on us.” Shawn also replied and smiled.

She mounts Hero and gets ready to ride out. Once they have their belongings. They get ready to ride.
“Alisha…Jack is going to head to the nearest town. He will let the marshal know about the bandits.” Shawn states and says goodbye to his friend after paying him for his share of the adventure.

“I did win when we untie our ropes but I figure we are more than square. I don’t want your little woman to hate me anymore for taking you on this adventure like this. After all you named your second born after me.” Shawn states and shakes hands and hugs Jack before they ride their separate ways.

Shawn catches up with Alisha.
“Not a better man on this planet than Jack Blackbear. I will never know why he has always stuff by me as a friend.” Shawn comments and smiles.

"I will never know why he has always stuff by me as a friend.” Shawn comments and smiles.

"Neither will I." Alisha comments, almost sneering at Shawn.

Alisha and Shawn ride on in silence, Alisha impressed by how well Shawn sits a horse, she even comments, "You look like you were born to ride."

Alisha is riding along side Shawn in silence again. She is trying so hard to not be attracted to him. She has promised herself to never open herself up to be hurt like that again.

"Neither will I." Alisha comments, almost sneering at Shawn.

Shawn laughs. “Really…I thought I was the only one that said sarcastic rude remarks.”

Alisha and Shawn ride on in silence, Alisha impressed by how well Shawn sits a horse, she even comments, "You look like you were born to ride."

“Well been riding all my life. I think I started riding before my daddy even taught me to shoot. I learned to shoot like at the age of 5. By the time I was six…I was given two bullets and if I didn’t hit something then I didn’t eat. By twelve it was one bullet. All the time, I had a great horse like that hero of yours that helped me find my dinners and stay safe a time or two growing up.” He replied.

“In my darkest days Alisha…my horse and my pride is all I felt I had before I beat the whiskey bottle and other sorts of the devil’s ways. I respect you for your relationship with your horse and life you have chosen. It is none of my business but I can’t imagine you having demons that you can’t overcome. You is a strong woman from what I see. I made a living judging people’s characters either at a card table or as a lawman.” He states and looks somberly at her.
