All my ads have touched on this subject in one way or the other, but here I like to emphasize it a bit deeper than usual. My first reason: civility, so it seems to me, has deteriorated over time. One impetus for that being prominent examples in DC.
IMHO, one aspect of civilization is an absence of ghosting. When a conversation partner no longer feels the attraction to another that once existed, it is not too much to expect her/him to write an honest "good bye" mail, is it? Instead of a deafening silence, or some implausible excuse like my pet has died, so I must mourn now for a year.
Another one is actually reading key posts of a "search advertiser" here, before PMing, to understand what (s)he is looking for. PMs now and then from women, who exclaim Oh, a great ad you wrote there! are frustrating, when it turns out, she does not have the faintest idea what kind of an ad she has actually replied to.
Responsiveness is another aspect of civility, I believe. When – in the course of getting to know someone – I mention three thoughts in a mail to her, and she responds to only half of one, I consider that an insult, really. What am I writing mails for, when she is not interested to understand them and to actually respond?
And when I say "respond" I mean timeliness as well. A question or a thought or a remark sent out today, simply begins to lose significance, when two or three days transpire before a response arrives in my IN box. Maybe there's nothing grossly uncivilized about delays like that, but I find them hard to live with.
And finally, when two strangers get to know one another, it seems to me that each of them ought to develop and put forward a kind of positive bias towards the other one. When you don't fully understand what someone is telling you, why not assume the message was not meant in a negative sense, instead of the other way around?
Next subject: "beyond erotica": In the beginning of my time here, I believed I wanted only to exchange horny mails. Until I realized that I have a soul as well. And an intellect. And a woman I correspond with, has those two "things" as well. And both crave attention just as much as our libido. I talked about the details in my first signature post, so no need to write more about that here.
By now you – a woman on the lookout – will have discovered also, that I am a lover of words. And that you should be a lover of words as well, when you want to get a mail exchange going with me. Because when one of us loves words, and has lots of thoughts and fantasies in his head, then he simply needs to find a woman, who ticks likewise.
I hope we will talk to one another soon.
