The park was fairly quiet, only a few people taking a late night stroll could be found in its setting. The water pouring into the fountain was the only sound around, until a little crack of lighting just ruined the quiet atmosphere. There was no warning, no storm or anything... just a simple bolt of lightning. No one really knew where it landed, and they just shrugged it off.

Mia found herself standing in the middle of a field, the large trees of the grove causing the darkness to feel even more ominous. Her eyes darted back and forth, searching her immediate surroundings for something that she could recognize.

"The world has changed..." she said to herself. She took one or two steps, stopped and looked around again. Her eyes focused on a sign that was staked into the ground, and it read Central Park. "Park? What is a park?" she thought to herself. "And why of all times did I wake up now?"

Suddenly she felt very hungry, and she placed a hand on her stomach, her cheeks turning a slight pink.

"Aww," she said with a smile. "Well, let's get some food." she said to herself, and started off in no particular direction.

Name: Crush.
Age: 276
Class: Demon
Rank: Rouge.
Hair: Black, buzzed short.
Eyes: Deep crimson.
Height: 6 ft even.
Appearance: Crimson, blood colored skin, powerfully built and equipt with a tail, in order to avoid raising panic, Crush uses his mastery of illusion to hide his true looks. Other mystical entities can see through his disguise however. Has black nails which he can extend into claws, and a large scar across his chest. Wears jeans, cannot stand the idea of wearing a shirt.

Throwing the burnt out stub of his cigarette to the side and lighting up a fresh one, Crush was bored once again. He knew that his old boss, namely Memnoch, or otherwise known as Satan, the devil, whatever, had been keeping an eye on him. Doing anything that would attract attention would be unadvisable, but he had enjoyed the last chase that the hunters had put him through. Maybe he could lure them out just to avoid them. It was dark out, he could have a nice night by terrifying some of the humans and then disappearing.

Thinking on this idea, he watched a lightning bolt crack out of the sky and instantly felt the demonic power behind it. As a rouge, he instantly was afraid of being captured. Its not that they would punish him, Memnoch secretly liked to have rouge demons running around, and had told Crush personally. He just didn't want to go back to work. Not yet.

He was curious however, and walked in the direction of the thunder crack. "The park.." he muttured to himself. Considering the strength of what he felt, Crush knew that if the force behind that snap of lightning was after him, it would find him eventually.

Mia had walked on the freshly cut grass, her bare feet lightly pressing into the ground. The few people she encountered in the park cast her glances, and some older folks scoffed at her lack of clothing. She didn't pay them much attention, instead she constantly searched around for something to eat. A demon can't very well dominate the world on an empty stomach, now can they?

"Tell me where to eat!" she commanded a human, grasping him by the collar of his jacket. The poor bastard was shaking with fear, mumbling incoherently. She glanced over his body, obviously not impressed with his stature. She let him fall to the ground, and she put a foot on his chest, staring him down again. He had dared to touch her without her permission earlier... and after a pair of charcoal grey wings fluttered out of her back she spat at him, the ooze spreading over his body and quickly turning him to stone.

Sucking on his cigarette, he found himself in the park, he walked over the sidewalk, his boots clinking on the paved stone. The air was calm, and smelled nice. A beautiful night among nights. Crush felt an urge to wreck it. He shook it and felt a sudden burst of fear eminating up ahead. Becoming more aware and closing his eyes, he focused and felt a great maleviolence coming from another figure, mixed with feelings of anger, as well as some great annoyance.

Well whatever it was, it didn't like humans very much. He shared the feeling, though their women were just stupid enough for him to take advantage of. He walked ahead, feeling the fear suddenly disappear from his senses. The other being, (the demon, he presumed) gained some pleasure from this. "Aww, damn." it had to go and kill the human. Well, there goes lying low, when you kill these things they really make a huge deal of it.

Stopping, he saw the figure ahead of him, standing on the grass and looking down at a grey figure on the ground. He looked at her and blinked. She was pretty hot for an ancient evil force. Crush finished his cigarette and flicked it onto the ground. Keeping his hands in his pockets and an eye on her, he didn't want to approach her and suddenly have his head sliced off, that would make it hard to explain to the devil.

Mia watched as the human had slowly changed forms, from the body full of energy into a cold substance. Forever would he be locked away in that state, much like she had been for however long. Her stomach pains reminded her that she was hungry, and she groaned, stepping over the solid statue and passed a few darkened bushes. The smell of something delectable filled her nose, and her senses pulled her into the direction of wherever it was coming from.

Once again she gained a few odd stares from people, and they probably would've just shrugged it off, but with her feathery wings pretruding from her back they couldn't stop to stare before quickly running away. It didn't bother her, many years ago the humans of the world did the exact same thing, except back then she had a following. "Pitiful." she thought to herself as she walked onto a major road, a few cars whizzing passed her. The vehicles frightened her, and the noises they made were quite strange. With a strong gust of wind she had lifted herself up and over a bit, her feet coming to crash down on the hood of one of the cars, stopping the vehicle from moving but causing a lot of noise.

He watched as she stumbled off in another direction, "this could be bad." The demon trailed her from a distance, noting the odd stares her wings recieved and the chaos that followed her. He blinked as she stepped out in busy traffic, and almost got flattened by a car. It beeped its horn at her, and to the drivers surprise, she seemingly jumped 4 feet onto the hood of his car, her bare feet slamming down on the metal. Crush saw there was no dent, and nodded, no one had actually seen her turn the other guy to stone, and if she were to suddenly buzz off from here, then there would be no problems.

Breaking disguise, Crush stretched out a pair of red wings and ran forward, jumping into the air and flapping to gain height. He swooped forward and grabbed the demoness around the waist with his right arm, then came to a running halt in a dark alley. Before she could protest, he put up an illusion of them being human teens and got infront of her, turning his head to the side and placing her arms around his waist so it would look like they were making out. A man ran into the alley.

"HEY!...oh sorry.." the man looked around. He "You two lovebirds seen a pair of freaks flyin around?" Crush blinked confusedly and turned his head. "I saw something, but it streaked off that way." he pointed up to his left. He felt her breathe in to say something, but influenced the man's mind to not hear what she said. The man walked of, in the direction that Crush had pointed.

Looking down at the Demoness, he backed up slightly and rubbed his head. He let the illusion drop, as well as his influence on the other man's mind."What are you trying to do? Get killed?"

Mia had come down hard on the car, but it squeeled off quickly. She was to chase after it, but before she knew what happened she had just as quickly been taken hold of by a fairly strong body, her eyes narrowing in on a demon. His red wings coming into contrast with her own dark ones, and then pushing them into the darkness of an alleyway. Before she could protest by chopping his head off, he had her against the wall, forcefully holding her hands on his sides.

He had incredible strength, probably moreso than she had herself.

"HEY!...oh sorry.. You two lovebirds seen a pair of freaks flyin around?"

Trying to wiggle free, Mia could barely move her arms. The demon shook his head at the man.

"I saw something, but it streaked off that way." and then pointed in some direction. he pointed up to his left, and the pitiful human ran off.

"What are you trying to do? Get killed?" he said to her as he backed up a bit. She had half a mind to just kill him, but he was the first demon that she had come across since her release.

"I can't die." she said simply and after a moment, folding her arms, wrapping her wings about her and shielding her body completely, save for her neckline up. "I just woke up and I went looking for food. And none of these pathetic humans will tell me where I can get it." she said.

"I can't die."

He rolled his eyes, another one of these wise asses who thought they knew everything. His feeling of annoyance was somewhat multiplied as she covered herself up, the only reason he had bothered with her was because of her looks in the long-run. Now she was trying to hide from his view?

"I just woke up and I went looking for food. And none of these pathetic humans will tell me where I can get it."

"Thats because you arent asking right." He calmly folded his wings behind his back raised up an illusion around himself, and walked out of the alley, his tail curling up into a leg of his jeans. Within earshot, she could hear: "...place to eat?" "Its..the corner." "Thanks."

He walked back into the alley, the humans he had been talking to back on their way. "If you want something to eat, I suggest you put up with me." he said, sensing a bit of rage. "And put those wings away." He said, walking ahead, his hands shoved in his pockets.

Mia looked on with interest as the man walked back out into the open and stopped one of the wretched humans. She had her arms crossed as he asked the peon where to get some food, and the creature responded both by pointing and telling him that it was around the corner. Not long after that he came back into the alley, and Mia shrugged her shoulders.

"And put those wings away." he added before walking away, hands tucked away. Mia blushed for a moment, then glanced around to see if there was anything else she could use to cover up her body. Sighing when there wasn't anything around she felt her wings retract within her body and she walked out into the sidewalk.

"So why did you grab me earlier? I was perfectly capable of handing that creature myself." she said as she watched more of them wizz up and down the street. She had her arms crossed as she walked just a little bit behind her guide. As much as she would hate to admit it she needed him for the time being.

He could sense some embarressment, and figured she didn't like showing much skin. We might not get along too well in that case. he thought to himself, they gained a few stares as they walked down the street. Niether of them were wearing a decent shirt, so quite a few of those stares were perhaps gawks, being attractive had some nuisance to it. He felt his box of cigarettes in his pocket, I guess I better pick up some later.. her voice cut his thoughts off.

"So why did you grab me earlier? I was perfectly capable of handing that creature myself."

He nodded towards the passing cars. "Those arent creatures, those are machines, and I pulled you away because if the humans saw you, they would bring alot more machines." They turned a corner. "How long have you been asleep anyway?" he asked, the lights of a low class diner comming into view.

Once again Mia was forced to share space with these pathetic creatures. She walked a little distance behind him as they weaved their way through the street, and more than once had she been bumped by a passing moron.

"Those arent creatures, those are machines, and I pulled you away because if the humans saw you, they would bring alot more machines." he said. Mia paused for a moment to watch them more closely, but after a while she just gave up trying to understand.

"How long have you been asleep anyway?"

"Ever since I banished that absurd Quetzalcoatl from my domain. His cult had started growing and they challenged my power. My treasonous slaves had turned on me... said they wanted to be free. They locked me away in stone and enchantments."

He blinked. "That guy you mentioned is well over 900 years old.." he turned his head. "You musta been a big shot awhile ago eh?" he grinned as they came up to the diner. He opened the door. "Let me show you how to gather food these days." he walked in with her.

There were few people there, and only a couple there working. They still all seemed to notice the two as they entered. He calmly walked up to the counter and sat down. A worker approached. "Sir, madam, I'm sorry, but your clothing is inapprop-" Crush looked up at the man, he stopped talking. "Its fine." The worker nodded, "yes, of course..what can I get you?"

Crush ordered a slice of pizza and a coke. He looked over to her and handed her a menu. "Just point to what you think looks good."

Mia was walking with her arms crossed as they approached a place with fancy lights.

"Yes, he is over 900 years old, and so am I." she said as they walked a little further. Opening the door for her she walked in, once again attracting quite a few stares. They had walked up a bit, and the smell of fresh meat infiltrated her nose. She had stared at a plate that one of the humans was eating off of, and she wanted it... but she was handed a tablet of sorts... flexible material with strange words on it.

"I can't read this." she said as she looked at it. The demon told her to order something that looked good.

"I want to eat all of it." she said after a moment, looking up from the tablet. She glanced back at the human and stared at his food, then back forward as both the demon and the human working looked at her oddly.

Crush calmly slid his plate over to her. "Can I double that order?" He gave her his drink, then got some more food. "Thanks."

He grinned somewhat as the worker walked off to deal with something else. He looked over to her. "So you've been locked away for almost a thousand years if I'm correct?" he asked, she was tough, but she didn't know what she was doing, if he let her off on her own, the humans would probably bring in the military, and then there would be trouble for everybody.

The demon figured he could use her lack of knowledge to his advantage.

Mia was standing with a look of annoyance, wondering why it was taking so long for them to get her meal prepared. Instead, she was shown to her seat as her escort sat down as well. Once his plate was ready he slid it in front of her, her eyes glancing down at the strange dish. She poked at it, and retracted her hand.

"It's too hot." she complained.

"So you've been locked away for almost a thousand years if I'm correct?" she heard him ask.

"Yes, a fact I intend to rectify." she said, not looking up but poking at the food before her.

"Why?"

"Yes, a fact I intend to rectify."

He grinned, hot stuff eh? Crush looked at her for a minute longer. "Why?" He shrugged. "Just curious, but uh, how do you intend to rectify that?" he asked, apparently she harbored alot of illwill towards mankind, he liked that, very angry, very bad intentions. He became aware that she was paying more attention to the food than him.

He rolled an eye and looked out the window. A man was looking in at the Demoness. Crush raised an eyebrow at the man, and the man quickly tried to walk away. Crush took control of his mind and calmly had the man turn towards the street. He considered having him walk out into traffic, then simply let the man go, he had no bloodlust at the moment.

"My name's Crush, by the way." he added.

"Just curious, but uh, how do you intend to rectify that?" he asked her, and she glanced up from her plate.

"I'll defeat their fighters and their machines, and the rest will become my slaves." She said as she picked up her food with her hands and ate it. It was a little strange, the sauce and parts of the food coming off like softened bread. But oddly enough it was really good. She quickly finished the rest.

"My name's Crush, by the way."

"I am called Melcheera by the pilli." Mia said and then noted a slightly confused look. "The pilli were their pathetic attempt at having an... um upper rank of men. If you so wish you may refer to me as Melcheera, or perhaps Mia would be more easily spoken."

Crush grinned, the idea of whole world armies falling by the wayside intrigued him so. He blinked, no, her way would send everything back into an age of darkness. He rubbed his head. Ages of working for Satan, ages of trying to retain a proper balance between the sides of good and darkness, he couldn't just let her enslave the planet. Thinking deeply, he predicted the use of nuclear warfare, then onto the after effects of radiation, an image of thousands of dead bodies due to radiation poisoning flicked through his head.

He involuntarily grinned, he knew eventually that the population would have to eventually strike out at something. He knew human nature couldn't allow the mortals to survive forever. They would die as the dinosaurs had sooner or later.

Finally looking up at her, he decided he would wreck her plans. He knew she was strong, but she wasn't worth her salt against a nuclear weapon. Her body would die, her spirit would return to the underworld, and getting the permisson to be reborn would be impossible after a stunt like hers.

By stopping her, he was protecting her. Screwy Eh?

I'll play along. "So what can you do? I saw you take care of that human earlier.." he asked, sweeping his eyes across the room and seeing that no humans were nearby. "Anything impressive?"

"What can I do? Well other than what you did see I'm able to fly and I have unrivaled physical strength... and one of my abilities is to drain the lifeforce from mortals to replenish my lifesource. So nothing 'impressive' I do suppose, but then again I have been asleep for centuries so I haven't been able to develop anything new." Mia said as she took a huge bite out of the 'pizza' that was put before her.

He listened, taking some interest in her lifedraining powers. Something very old, very hard to learn. Crush turned his head and grinned slightly. "Well If you intend to take over the world, I think you should attempt to work up your strength again." He saw the look she gave him and stopped her before she could protest. "Like you said, being dormant for so long must mean you're alittle rusty, and I have a place where you could work yourself up."

He intentionally skipped the topic of his own powers.

"Well, it shouldn't take me too long to get back to my full strength." Mia said after a moment, still a little skeptic at trusting Crush.

"But I do suppose you're right... being asleep for so long my powers have waned a little. But what about yourself? I noticed you seem to be right at home with these humans. Are they your slaves?" she asked him, glancing down as another plate of food was brought before her. Hungrily she devoured the contents, then beckoned for another helping.

"But I do suppose you're right... being asleep for so long my powers have waned a little. But what about yourself? I noticed you seem to be right at home with these humans. Are they your slaves?"

He grinned somewhat at her question, truthfully answering. "Only a couple, and I don't really pay much attention to them."

He watched her easily ingest another plate of food, then idignantly ask for more with a wave of her hand.

"I don't really see much point in enslaving all of them though." He shrugged. "I can easily get whatever I need, sex, money, food..." He took a long swig of soda ...items of value. He leaned back. "I cause chaos here and there, I'll sneak into a girls dorm here and there, kill people who rub me the wrong way..."

He rubbed an eye. "Truth is, I don't really go around letting people know I'm a demon, I influence them to see otherwise." He nodded towards the bus boy who had been serving them. "He thinks I'm a human that just isn't wearing a shirt, thats why he isn't afraid of me."

The demon shrugged. "You have skin like them, so you don't have to worry about it, you just happen to be dressed in what would qualify to them as sexy underwear." He laughed at her expression. "Why do you think the males have been gawking at you? You're quite attractive." he said, taking another sip of his soda. He had finished his pizza awhile ago.

"What's a dorm?" she asked casually as she looked pleased at the plate of food being brought to her. She started to eat it, glancing up a few times as Crush started to talk about his habits. Power of persuasion and illusion... very impressive, at least the powers of some demon that would rather work behind the scenes.

She glanced down at her apparel, shrugging her shoulders.

"Humans have always marvelled at my form." she said casually, "So I don't really pay attention."

He raised an eyebrow at her casual acknowledgement of her good looks. Her arrogance was astounding, it didn't turn Crush off, just made him more intrigued. It had been a long time since Crush had met a female that didn't immeadiately feel some sort of attraction to him. His human form was the ideal 21 year old tanned surfer, he could get anyone. Married women, bible toting girls of faith, celebrities, twins. All fell to his desires.

The demon grinned at the idea of a challenge, well, I'm not bored anymore at least..

He watched her finish up her fifth plate of pizza. After a moment, he nonchalantly leaned forward and wiped her cheek with a napkin, getting some sauce off.

"You still hungry?" he asked, having eaten a second slice while he had been thinking.
