DO NOT USE A GLUE GUN FOR WAX PLAY!!!

I thought because my fingertips could play in hot glue...I failed to realize that my fingertips are somewhat calious...

the wax inside a glue gun turns into pure liquid that is way to hot for skin and will leave a nasty burn. Plus there is no controlling the wax liquid. unlike the thickness of the glue stick, the wax just melts and squirts and runs right out of the end.

Thinks this would be an interesting type of wax play. Has anyone tried it? I know its important to use the correct type of wax. I wonder if the glue gun would melt it to quickly?

This was all spawned from me recently playing more and more with wax. I like it. The feel of hot wax on the skin is so very yummy. I like peeling it off afterwards. I am sure there are many other threads dedicated to wax play, I just wondered if anyone has ever used a glue gun and if it would work.

Comments, ideas, suggestions...

I have used glue guns a lot for arts & crafts with my children.

There are many different kinds, but most of the ones I've seen are carefully labelled to distinguish between High and Low Temperature guns. Some have a switch, so they can be used for both. Like this one:

The glue that comes out of High Temperature guns will burn the skin, leaving lasting pain and a red mark for days. It's a real burn.

The glue that comes out of Low Temperature guns hurts when it lands on the skin, and continues hurting until it cools. But, after it is removed, there is no mark left and the pain is gone.

I notice that the gun at your link says "High Temperature". You asked for suggestions, and mine would be to use a Low Temperature glue gun if your partner is hesitant, inexperienced with wax play, worried about marks on the skin, and/or not a masochist.

I don't really understand your question about the glue melting "too quickly". The glue guns I have used need to be plugged in (with the glue stick already inserted) for about five minutes before use. If you tried to squeeze the trigger before the glue was melted, nothing would come out. Once that five minute period is up, as long as the gun is plugged in you can use it at your leisure.

My only other comments are that I love the phallic imagery of the gun, and I found that scenario very... ummm.... appealing ..... but only if the guy was using a Low Temperature gun.

Interesting thought, RJ. I really like wax play - one of my fave things to do, actually. But temperature is an issue. According to the domme I learned about wax play from, wax touching the skin really shouldn't be above 135, as it can leave first degree burns on certain areas of the body - fair skinned people will burn more easily as will tender areas, like nipples and genitals. So I would be very concerned about the temperature this wax needs to be heated with.

As an aside, we don't do knife play, but we have a dull butcher knife that he uses to remove the wax with. The knife isn't sharp enough to cut my skin - in fact, it's very dull, but when he places slices within the wax, it feels like it is cutting into me. Then he uses the side of the blade like he's shaving the wax off. Very erotic feeling.

I personally think wax dripping off of a glowing candle that has lit the room is MUCH hotter than a glue gun, but that's just me

I would think it would be unsafe as presumably you would be putting the wax directly onto the skin while in traditional methods it is dripped from a height to allow cooling...hmmm, except for the fantastic photo shoot I came across last week of a red candle stuck in butthole and allowed to melt down over the butt, crack, and pussy...looked delicious.

I will let you know how it turns out. I don't plan on putting it directly on the skin. More like holding it above. I think the point of the gun though might provide more accurate placement and control, I dunno. I am gonna test it out though and see.

My guess is that the head of the glue gun will melt the wax and it will drip out of the tip just like dripping from tilting a candle. Be interesting to see if you can achieve more control. After I run some tests I will let you know if I burned the shit out of myself or if it worked out with any success.

Its not like I am gonna go freaking nutz...the worse that can happen is a I get a small burn on my arm. Shrugs I'll let you know.

As for getting the wax into the glue gun...I plan to take the glue gun and hold it upright while it is cool, with my finger on the tip to prevent any dripping and then drip wax from a candle into it and wait till it cools inside the gun.

When I am ready to test I will plug it in and wait till the wax starts to drip out then test it.

Should be fun.

I just plan to use a glue stick as a plunger to do the test. I find if I put my thumb on the end of the glue stick...I can push on it with the trigger pulled and it slides right in. So in theory I should be able to do the test without to much problem.

The first problem I had was the tip still had some glue in it so I was having trouble trying to push the wax in as the wax which was turned to liquid just seeped back up along the tube.

I finally got the end unplugged and out squirted almost like a water pistol....hot liquid wax...

SOB that was hot...and yes got a nice little burn for my efforts.

I do NOT recommend this ever.......

There is no control of it at all...the wax just runs out of the end as it is liquid....

Having dripped hot wax on a few people's delicate bits, I would wonder if perhaps it cound be the reverse as until it comes out of the barrel you really don't know where or when it will drop. Think I prefer the traditional option as it is prettier, IMO more controlled, and allows for the addition of many colours without necessarily having them mixed through left over remnants. Have fun.

Little boys and their toys, RJ. I knew you would end up trying this somehow. I hope you didn't burn yourself too badly. I know how hot regular candles can get and I've used a glue gun before, so I know how hot that was. Stick with regular candles, and remember that scent and color can sometimes burn hotter. Also, glitter or other things inside the candles can get extremely hot, so don't use candles with glitter in them. And tea lights burn very hot, so use them after you've used something else.

Gotta admit there's nothing like a nice hot waxing scene. I just love it.

Maybe I have an archaic glue gun, but it gets about as hot as an iron on its highest setting. I imagine it can melt skin if you touch the metal for an extended period of time.
