As an aspiring author & editor, with lots of free time on my hands, I find myself inspired by the beautiful, yet sometimes desolate, surroundings up here in the north Scottish Highlands.

I'm an early-50's male empty-nester living in a small coastal town, with 2 spare furnished rooms & usual mod-cons, which I occasionally rent out. The local area is bordered by beaches, countryside, cliffs, lochs, wildlife, history, ancient ruins, and everything else the Highlands are renowned for.

Are there any female authors who feel they could use similar inspiration and/or local locations / knowledge (once freedom of movement is available, of course) within their own stories, and who would benefit from a visit?

If so then I'm willing to trade free lodgings (you pay only for your own food), in return for a female perspective on my own writing, maybe the occasional meal I don't have to cook, even the company on walks or meals out would be a nice change!

I'd be interested to hear from any lady authors who might like to consider this NSA offer. If nothing else you could bag yourself a cheap Highland holiday or base!

Feel free to get in touch.

I recently read Faber's Under the Skin and loved the descriptions of Highlands around the Moray Firth. I hope, like Isserley, you're not looking for unsuspecting humans to abduct...

Sounds idyllic! I got as far north as Inverness when I visited Scotland years ago.

Abduct? Hell no!... but I've an inkling some won't want to leave by choice once they've sampled the area, so I might have to kick them out lol.

BTW for those who can WFH & like a bit of remoteness, property is cheap & fibre internet is more than adequate... paradise found!

Hard sell much eh!
