Schrödinger's cat

he chose a cat, i think, since it's a familiar and well loved living being that walks about and occupies a part of many human's lives.

that some alleged truths of physics lead to the conclusion: Sarah's cat is neither alive nor dead-- is thus obviously a problem for them.

I think he picked a cat since like sweetsubsarahh said: cat's are familiar and ordinary. What better way to make a mental exercise that includes the familiar so everybody and anybody can understand it. If he chose something that people don't find familiar or ordinary then all the questions they ask for clarification could just ruin the elegance of the thought exercise.

He had to take the cat - all the rats were running mazes and Pavlov had pinched the dog...

Well I'd look in the box every 15 seconds and if it didn't work I'd replace the isotope and then look again until it worked.

He probably really did have a cat...and cats, not unlike spouses, can sometimes lead to a "can't live with them, can't live without them" philosophy. Or not.;)

Dammit. One of my kids just asked me "what's with this Shrodinger's cat thing?"

and I can't explain it because I can't remember

I just wonder if the cat did the Snoopy dance while schodinger worked on his equations.

Just thinking........
