The story thus far:
Two schools exist for mutants, the people who run the schools holding very different views on the role mutants play in this world but both agreeing on one thing. That role does not include destruction of the 'normals' in this world.
Charles Xavier and Emma Frost have welcomed their new arrivals into their schools, the first order of buisiness? A trip to the mall. All goes well until one of Emma's students, Cai Chan, decides to change into one of her alternate personalities and trapse through the mall calling attention to the small band of mutants.
Through some quick thinking and team work from both schools, the situation is diffused and the weary students part and head for their various schools. Emma's students to some pizza delivery and Charle's to some cooking and a heart to heart with their new head master.
As Emma leaves her students to their meal and enters her office for some late night work, she is greeted by one of the Academy's sponsors and her main worry. Magneto.
Magneto delivers the news that he has been keeping an 'eye' on the students and was watching what happened in the mall and has decided to take over their training himself and to incorporate them into the Hell Fire Club when he feels they are ready.
Emma refuses and Magneto laughs at her resistance as they both know she would lose in a battle between him. Heedless of the consequences, she takes a moment to use her telepathy to blast a warning to her students before attacking Magneto. Taken aback by the attack, Magneto is caught momentarily and the two struggle while Emma's students escape.
As soon as the message is broadcast, one of Cai's personalities contacts Charles Xavier to let him know what is happening at the Academy. Help is now on the way....but is it too late?
Recap of the posts leading to this
Emma sighed as she entered her office once again. She was really pleased with the performance of her students. They had performed well beyond expectations. They were probably waiting for her to gush all over them as Xavier did his students but that was not how she worked. Look what that kind of attitude got his last students. She would not let that happen to hers.
"Yes, look at where that got him. I always knew his softness would get someone killed,"A male voice came from behind her as the doors closed. Emma spun around and her eyes narrowed as she gazed upon one of her 'benifactors'.
"Magneto," She said in less than a welcoming voice. The only man besides Xavier who could shield himself from her,"What do you want?"
"Now, now, Emma," He said moving to stand in front of the door,"You would almost think you werent happy to see me. And we have to talk."
"The semester has just started," She said, turning to look at some papers on her desk in a very dismissive gesture. She hated talking about the Academy with him. She knew he was only after strong students to replenish the Hell Fire Club. And she hated that fact. "It is too soon to talk."
"Not so," He said, his eyes steady on her and his stance not changing,"I 'saw' what happened at the mall today. I would say, under the right tutilage that they will do very well."
The tone in his voice made her head snap up and her eyes narrow.
"And that tutor wouldnt be me, would it," She said making it a statement instead of a question. "You're dismissing me and taking over yourself. What do you plan to teach these kids? How to kill and destroy any and all who are different? That is not what this school is for, Magneto. You know I dont allow that kind of thinking. I dont believe in helping the normals as Xavier does but outright destruction makes no sense."
Her body had tensed and she fought from lashing out in panic. Magneto was more powerful than she was and, if he wanted to take her school and remove her he could. But not without a fight.
Magneto smiled coldly. "Dont be a fool, Emma. Your feelings for your students is admirable, if a weakness, but you dont have a chance of besting me and you know it. Chalk this up to another learning experience, get out of it alive and go on. Its what you are good at."
He turned to go out of the door and Emma reacted. She had hoped his vanity and self confidence would have masked what she had planned and she was right.
The first thing she did was use her telepathy to telecast to her students.
"Everyone in the building. Do not interfere no matter what you hear. Get out NOW. Danger. Get out! Find Xavier....he will help. GO NOW!" Adding a mental push to get them going she then attacked Magneto with all she had as he turned back towards her, sensing what she had done.
Her hands locking on his arms, she used all of her powers to buffet him and he raised his in defense. The two stood, locked in a mental battle that only one would win. And Emma knew who that one would be. Her only hope was to keep him unable to do anything until her students had escaped.

Shen heard Miss Frost's message and knew what she must do. She was pure spirit, and so could neither affect nor be affected by anything in the physical world. She was completely immune to Magneto's power to control magnetism, but she was also completely unable to help her fellow students. However, if she concentrated, she could instantly focus in on the mind of another and "be" where that mind was. She had felt Xavier's mind even as she battled the confusion inflicted on the Chan system at the mall. His was a mind like Miss Frost's, extremely powerful and telepathic. She focused on that mind now, and saw the School for Gifted Youngsters, where Charles sat in his chair following dinner. He sensed her as soon as she concentrated on him.
Professor Xavier, she transmitted mentally, I am Shen of the Changeling Chans. I am of Miss Frost's School. She needs you now. The one called Magneto is attacking the school. She will die without you.
If she had understood the mind correctly, he would know she was serious and not waste time with ridiculous questions.

Zoe heard Ms. Frost's message. She whirled about, snagging Vincent by the arm and herding the others toward the door...
"Now!" she cried out. "We must go NOW!"
She could feel the struggle, almost visualize it... please, Ms. Frost... do what you have to, but don't get yourself killed...
************************************
Charles sat bolt upright at the table, where he had been chatting with his students while they did dishes. A message of utmost urgency had just been sent to him by one of Emma's students.
He sent back to Shen, "Gather whatever students you can, and flee now. None of you, Miss Frost included, are a match for Magneto. I am sure she is keeping him occupied for the moment, but we must get you all to safety. Help is on the way, but for now, you are on your own. Get out of there, and I will contact you when we are nearby."
Xavier spoke aloud now, to his students. "Lucas, Tara, (whoever else is here?), we need to hurry. Magneto is attacking the Massachusetts Academy. The students are fleeing now, and we are going to gather them up and bring them here, where I can protect them."
They all moved quickly through the mansion, then turned down a corridor, and through a sliding door none of them had noticed before. It led into a very high-tech looking corridor. Soon, they arrived in a hangar, where a modified SR-71 Blackbird sat. "Forge has helped me keep this in perfect running order, and we will need its speed to get to them in time. I apologize in advance for the ride you are about to get, but I am not anywhere near the pilot Scott Summers was."
************************************
With the others, I follow the Professor. The food is already making itself felt and I feel strong, fast, senses alert.
In the hanger, I stop for a moment and gawk at the sheer sere beauty of the jet. But only for a moment, then I follow the others inside and buckle up. I've heard of this Magneto asshole from mutants in the underground and if even half of what I've heard is correct, we are headed into some major shit.
"What can I do to help, Professor?" I ask.
**************************************
Zoe paused for a moment as the others ran ahead. She turned and bolted back into the building, to her room, that she might stuff her few possesions into the beat-up old duffel she'd brought with her. Yes, another thoroughly stupid idea on her part -but when you don't have much you tend to cling to it...
A quick jaunt through the halls revealed no one... the other students must have all fled. At any rate, she couldn't sense any of them. Good.
She burst back out the doors and into the expansive yard. It might be prident to summon authorites... the Police, Fire Department, someone -not that they might be able to do anything.
Zoe crouched near the side of the door. All right girl, just do it and get it over with...
Purplish light began to exude from her diminuitive frame, spilling out onto the grass, twisting and writhing like flame. She squeezed her eyes shut, and touched the wooden doorframe.
"Please... just a little bit... that's all I'm asking..."
Her soft plea seemed to work, clipping off the tiniest bit of psychokinetic energy from her purple aura and igniting the doorframe. She stood and headed for the street as fast as her legs would take her.
Behind her, the flames snaked about the foyer, lighting up just enough combustibles to set off the fire alarms...
