School Computers Suck
Cuz they are slow,
Have no character,
On all the time
Only work when you kick them,
Log you off when they feel like it!

Can cause great aggrivation
Ommit any need to want to use a computer, ever.
Make you want to kill.
Put you in a stressful situation
Useless!
Take forever to get a station
Easy to goo up!
Raise the tuition
Slow as all hell

S op downloading when they feel like it
Use up space
Can't kill em
Kill brain cells

[end rant]

I used to work as a Computer Systems Specialist at a college and I will agree that some of the computers suck. Not sure about your school, but the one I worked at had multiple rooms or labs.

We only had the cash to upgrade one or two labs at a time, so we had a rotation. Never had any computers older than 2 years old. And while I was working there everything worked damn good. I made sure of that, since I had to deal with user complaints also.

It is difficult to keep the systems in top shape since you have a lot of ppl using them and doing who knows what to them. Only way to have them work 100% is to have them reloaded once a week (that's how I did it) or to have a script that cleans them up everytime a new person logs in (have seen this done too, just makes startup very slow).

Ok, I could spend all day replying to this one. That's just my opinion, no flaming intended. :)

forgot to tell you I like the poem, can't remember the specific name for that type though.

and of course

it doesn't matter that having access is better than no access at all.

How about applying for grants, scholarships, loans and purchasing a pc of your own? Plenty of companies give away computers. Ask counselling services about possible sources of getting a donated pc.

Used monitors can be found for $50. Invest in a good cpu and ask if there is enough space on the motherboard to upgrade later.

Peace,

daughter
