FYI: Site staff have been very helpful in allowing me to submit works and ask for them to be published at a later date. In my case this means submitting a couple of weeks beforehand and asking for a specific release date. I did this by adding my request to the Admin Notes field when I submitted my story. E.G. If possible I would like this story be published on 12/24/2024. Thank you.

This results in stories showing up as published in my activity tab but not being available to readers until the requested date.

I'm using this to queue stories in an ongoing stories and get them cleared and published before the upcoming holidays when the site admins will, I hope, be busy with other things. I am finding this super useful.

Good point. It's been a while but I've done this a few times when I'm going to be out of town or whatever Laurel has been very good about accommodating my requests. However, I try not to do it very often and try to get the submittal in several days early to avoid messing up her overall publication schedule.

On a related note, has someone tried submitting more than one story to be published at the same time? The idea would be that if one is held in the queue for longer than the other, they'd both go up only when the late one would.

I've got a story uploaded and I've requested a 30th December publishing date.
Will see what happens!

If you mean having two stories published on the same day, that can be arranged if the stories are in different categories. As a general rule, if they're in the same category they get staggered to one per day, presumably to avoid flooding the hub page with one author's work.

Laurel can set a timer on the release date of a story, but can only do so when it's in the queue right in front of her. The first story can't be conditional on the second, because she won't have processed the second one yet.

An author can do what you're asking for, by waiting for the first one to be published, before they submit the second.

I don't know why folk fuss about release strategies so much - in six months time the whole thing is published, and the release timing is irrelevant.

I've asked mine to be published at the end of the month because it's a new years eve story!

If they are two different stories just pick a release date that gives Laurel plenty of time (four weeks seems good if you've already published).
