Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of scars, or at least making them less noticeable?

Tattoo.........................................saw some great ones.......................Big old zipper....I almost had one done myself.............have a nice 14" one.........

Use vitamin E cream on them daily. You don't say what the scars are from, but most scars fade with time.

I actually don't know what they're from, they just showed up. I'm sure something must've caused them though.

I'll try the vitamen E though!

Didn't like the Tattoo one huh.........Lol sorry.......................

Oh Wizzie, I love the tattoo idea, but ...

the scared part with me are my knee caps *lol* guess that would be looking a little odd or at least disturbingly scary to have those tattooed over *lol* specially with a zipper *g*

Sorry - too funny to imagine .. high heels, short skirt and those tattooes on my knees ... oh my GOD! *rofl*

ooops - couldn'T help it ...

Anyway - I cfound aloe vera gel to be rather usefull in working on new scars. Mine are wide but pretty much faded to "normal", only in summer they remain lighter than the surroundihng tanned skin but me being a blonde don't get really dark anyway so .. *shrugs shoulders*

I had knee surgery, and my dr. advised my to keep sunscreen on the scar at all times. If the scars get too much sun exposure, they won't fade, they'll keep their dark color.

Knee surgery also.. I look like I have three divide by scars on my left knee. Doc also told me not to get much sun on them.

Hey thats ok...............I had the kidney transplant and have the one right up my side and also have about 10 tats now........one right up my side would have fit right in................

Sorry Wizard, because of where the scars are (intimate areas) I don't think a tattoo would look quite right. It's a good idea for most places!

hmm...have you considered seeing a dermatologist? Is the problem that's causing the scars still happening?

I don't know what caused the scars. But they show up every now and then. And don't go away.

The scars are red, kinda like red circles.

That doesnt sound good defenately get a second opinion but if i remember back to my health days in school There was some type of tape worm thing that caused red round circle type thins?... think it was round worm or something along those lines?

I would definately have it checked out.

scars

small circular red rings sounds like ringworm. if that's what it is, try using lamisil over-the-counter cream. it says it's for athlete's foot or jock itch, but it works for ringworm, too. if that doesn't help, see a doctor. if it's just scars, there's an over-the-counter cream called mederma that you should be able to ask for at a pharmacy. it's pretty expensive (about $25-$30 a tube) and you have to use it for a while, but it does work. the vitamin E should work well, too

try to keep them out of the sun, that will make them scar permanently.

i would say get it checked out... that doesnt soudn right.. from my experience, a scar is a scar it goes away with time but doesnt reappear in red

as for other types... how do you get rid of messed up bandaid scars that dont want to go away?

there's a product called ReJuveness.
It's a silcone patch that you place on the scar for a few hours at a time.
It's spendy (40-50 dollars) but if it works, it's worth it.
I have tried it on a surgical scar and it seemed to do some good.

Cutex has a product out that I love. <I have scars on my stomach, my ribcage and my thigh> They are silicone like sticky pads that go over the scar and another sticky to cover them up. Leave them on all night and they become less noticable.

There is something called emu oil out now in natural food stores. It is supposed to work wonders for all types of skin troubles including scars.

Thanks for all of the replies. I promise I will get it checked out!
