As of the past few days, and presumably coincident to the new format, I can no longer save stories to my hard-drive for later offline reading. When I open a page, it pops up for a few seconds then disappears completely. I assume this is intentional, for whatever reason, however a pain for those who read offline.

The only way to save the story to your computer hard drive is to copy and paste it into some reading software or into an editor like Word or Open Office Doc or goggle docs.

If you're offline ad click on something in your browser you may get the cached data for a brief, very brief time. I have never seen that happen, although I do have my browser delete cached data.
