Save the Twinkies!

I thought this would have something to do with the gayest cities in America thread.

1930: Interstate Baking Company is formed in Kansas City, Missouri.
1969: Interstate changes name to Interstate Brands Corporation.
1975: DPF acquires Interstate Brands.
1981: Interstate Brands becomes Interstate Bakeries Corporation.
1987: IBC Holdings Corporation is formed; Interstate becomes private company.
1991: IBC Holdings becomes Interstate Bakeries again, goes public.
1995: Interstate acquires Continental Baking Company.

(During World War II a banana ration caused Continental to switch to the vanilla crème center that is loved today.
Twinkies have become an American icon and nearly half a billion are made each year.)

2000: San Francisco court awarded $126 million to 18 Wonder/Hostess bakery employees
who had filed a racial discrimination suit against Interstate.

2012: Ripplewood Holdings-owned Hostess, which filed for bankruptcy
almost two years ago and had emerged from it last September.

Hostess, which carries over $860 million in debt.

Who is eating the snack cakes?

Box of Hostess: 3.99
Box of Little Debbie: 1.99

Aint no mystery.

Wow! Really?

Given other companies, unions. pension disputes etc that is a huge gap (most likely impossible) to cover.

The irony for myself is that when I hear "Hostess" I think potato chips, they were my favorite as a kid.

Anyone tried the Limited Time Hostess chocolate creme Twinkies? Very tasty.

Whew! I thought maybe you meant Twink porn. And that would have truly ruined my day...
