******************************************

Jennifer Randel an eighteen year old young lady from Boston moved out to be with her father who worked for the army in fort Jerry. It worked out well because her intended was a lieutenant in the army and stationed in the same fort as he father.

Lieutenant Thomas Drake was a handsome man, the typical tall dark and handsome. The kind that made all the girls swoon and he did his fair share of flirting as well and Jen knew it but never had he been unfaithful to her, at least not to her knowledge. Tom was always well kept, that mustache and goatee always trimmed neatly and never a button out of place , the true spit and polish of the army. That's what Jen figures got her father to introduce them. And arrange this marriage in the first place.

Jennifer had her mothers looks she had that long wavy red hair and dark green eyes that her own father would stare into and be taken back to visions of her mother. He told her Just having her there seemed to calm him and remind him of his late wife. She pasted five years ago back in Boston. Jen always had a strong sense of adventure and a bit of a tom boy in her but, she would be the picture perfect lady of class and beauty when she had to for her father and Tom.

The coach rolled in through the gates that crisp September morning as Jen leaned out the window looking around all excited to see her father and Tom. They stood there waiting all decked out in the dress blues waiting fro her to arrive even Tom held excitement in his eyes as the coach pulled to a stop.

Jen stepped out even before the man jumoed down to open the door, she did it herself all excited. Her father grabbed hold of her right away as Tom looked on waiting his turn. Jennifer grabbed on hugging him back all happy to be with her father again after not seeing in last year at all. And it had been well over six months since Tom had seen his lady.

"Daddy not so tight, I can't breath..." She gasped for breath as she smiled back to him as he let go {I don't talk forother chars but to start off I will till they are filled)...

Terrance let go of his daughter and stepped back laughing hearing her and Tom Chimed in.

"Yea Capt. don't break her, I would like my wife in one piece ya know, " he smirked as she went into Toms arms and he hugged her rubbing along her back... " It's good to have you in my arms again Jenny girl." Tom pressed a light kiss to her lips as he gazed into her green hues.

" Mmm... Tom it feels right. it's good to see you again" She whispered into his ear. " and this feel wounderful"

Tom Put her down as her father looked on with a , Thats enought look on his face. Tom and the Captian both offere there arms to her as they lead her inside the captians office.

There little reunion was not so private as they thought Black Hawk and his braves where watching the fort for some time now planning their attack. Those dark orbs focused on Jennifer Randal, that red head caught the eye of the proud brave and he wanted to get a closer look. A slow smile lifted to his lips as he gave orders to find out who the one with the hair of fire was and why the captian and Lieutenant.. seemed to take such an intrested in the lady

The three walked into the office as two officers jumped to their feet saluting the two higher ranking officers. One man looking to Jennifer from a said glances looking her up and down slowly trying to be discreet they gathered she had to be the Captains daughter. The whole Fort was put on alert the past two days that she would be arriving and the captain wanted this place spick and span and in order for her arrival.

Jen looked about the makeshift office then looked to her father as he patted her hand Tom had already stepped back seeing the soldiers eyes following Jen as they all walked in. he was not at all pleased with the way the solider glared to his fiancee but looked to Jen and the Captain as he saw her eyes tracing the whole office.

Capt.> " Go on Jenny I know you have something to say I see that look in your eyes and I know it's not as grand as Boston but its home now." Terrance knew his daughter well enough to know when she had something on her mind but also knew she was taught to respect as well.

"Daddy this is so.... So primitive. It s nice. But its not Boston your right. then again." She did smiled devilishly to both Tom and her father with a light snicker. " I can't go riding around it britches and siting astride a saddle up in Boston, but here Tom wrote me and said I would be fine? is that right daddy? "

Her eyes danced with excitement as she looked to the two not paying any mind to the solider whom seemed to stare at her boldly with more in his eyes then what was expectable for the daughter of their captain.

Terrance Randel nodded to her in agreement, then he to joined in with his daughter in her laughter. All knowing she had a love of the beasts and that was his ace in the hole to get her to come out here. Not to mention Tom being here. Yes, he missed his daughter and he wanted her back in his life.

Tom never laughed e was to busy watching sergeant Kraft leering at Jen. He stepped in his path as he took Jennifer's hand. that handsome charm sliding out to her in just his grin alone. His thumb running along the top of her hand as he gazed into her eyes.
Tom> "You look tiered darling. Maybe we should get you to your fathers quarters to rest and then I will show you around maybe take you out on a ride out side the fort? " Tom lifted a brow in question to his father in law to be as he smiled to Jenny all the time not letting her hand go.

Captain Randel nodded in agreement yet had to say something Tom about wanting to spend time with his own daughter as well as he did.

Capt.>" Tom, you will have her to your self soon enough now give this old man a change aye boy?" With a wink to Tom. But was it out of jest as well as seriousness. Tom leaned up to jen and again kissed her softly. I will see you later Jen promise?" Again the charming smirk touched her eyes from him.

"All right Tom. I promise, and I will look forward to it."

She moved to her father as she felt a squeeze from Tom and then he stepped back beside Sergeant Kraft. Father and daughter moved on out as tom stood there watching her moving on out of sight on her fathers arm someone else was watching to from a hidden location. dark eyes lingering to her every move as he waited t o find out from his scout who she was and what she was doing here.

Tom turned to face sergeant Kraft and grabbed the man up by his collar. Glaring to him.
Tom> " If I ever see you leering to her again like that I will make sure you are not able to use your own eyes balls ever again sergeant . IS THAT CLEAR!!"
Toms voice boomed out to the camp as Terrance looked back hearing an echo but not making it out fully he was to far from his office but knew it was Tom shouting some orders about something he was not pleased with. The man stood at attention as best he could and shout ." Yes, Sir Lieutenant " nothing more was said but if looks could kill Sergeant Kraft was a dead man. Thomas Drake was no man that liked to share, and jealous that was not the word for it.

{as I said i will fill in for the players till they join the thread so here goes}

Jennifer to heard the shouts as she walked into the small sort of cabin style room her father had taken her to and looked around again. Captain Randel closed the door behind then both as he helped her with her bag and smiled to his daughter.

"My you grew up since I last saw you. Tom and I will both need to keep an eye on you, your a pretty little thing Jenny Girl."

She blushed at her fathers words and even laughed slightly taking the pins from her hair and shaking it lose. And pulling out a pair of leather britches and a plan white cotton blouse.

"Well, once I get into these you will see Your Jenny girl again daddy."

A light hearted chuckle did lift from her fathers mouth as she hurried back to a room and drew the curtain so she could change. Terrance Randel looked back see his daughter step back out into view dressed as he now remembered her ready to go out and play or ride one of those horses she would sail away on for hours.

CAPT.>" That's my jenny Girl I know and love. But You are not to go running around out side the gates alone young lady this is not Boston and there are hostels out there. Only with an escort OK jenny promise me ..."

She nodded as she listed to her fathers words. " I don't know my way around here yet daddy I won't go far I promise."

Now none of that Jennifer Randel. I gave you and order missy. its for your own good. Now come sit down, and I expect your to follow orders. Now tell me how you've been and what you have been up to before that lieutenant come barging in here trying to steal you away from me again."

She smiled seeing that look in his eyes and nodded knowing not to push him or she will be sent back and she knew it.

Back on the hill two moons ran back to his friends with his report. crouching low he spoke to BlackHawks

Two Moons> The one with the hair the color of the fire is the daughter to the Captain that the soldiers fort. She comes from the big cities. she looks to be about 16 maybe 18 summers and the tall man I think is trying to claim the maiden as his the lieutenant doesn't like others looking at his women."

Black hawk listened and nodded he would see the women again she seemed to hold her own she looked proud yet being from the cites makes women soft an easy target for him to take maybe to work out a deal with her father the captain of the soldiers fort.

BH> I will keep an eye on that one she may be what will help us regain the hunting lands the soldiers took from us. If the captain wishes his daughter back quickly maybe soon we will be eating good around out camp fires again.

Jen and Toms ride

A few hours had pasted when Tom knocked on the door. Two horses tied to the post out front and a bright smile on his face as The Captain opened the door for him with a smirk on his face looking back to his daughter who smiled even brighter then back to Tom again.

Capt. > "Well, now Tom, couldn't wait any longer aye? I'm surprised I got you to give me this long with her. All right I already told her no riding alone but now that your here I see she will be in good hands ... or she better be shall I say?"

Tom stepped inside seeing Jen looking more like the girl he fell for back in Boston. They shared many hours riding the fine stock her father always held in his stable. This was his kind of lady one that was not afraid to go out and get her hands dirty yet looked the part of the dignified lady of society as well. He offered her his arm as he looked to Terrance.

Tom > "I'll take her to the cabin by the lake show her your other place and ride back before supper. If that's all right with you sir?"

Of course Terrance agreed as Jenny took his arm and started out the door.

"Daddy I won't be to long and you have another house you mean one larger then this maybe with a stable filled with horses?"

She smiled and looked hopeful back to her father as Tom and Terrance snickered back to t he other.

Tom> " You will find out soon enough Jenny girl now come on i want to spend some time with my lady. shall we? "

The door already shut as the two walked out and mounted the beast and rode off tom leading the way till they got to an open clearing then Jenny kicked into the mount and took off into the openness.. Tom close at her heels grabbing her reigns and pulling back sweeping her up in front of him as he did so. A little squeal from her as eh wasn't expecting it but enjoyed being in his arms.

" Tom .. What ifs daddy saw that ... he'd have your sorry hide" he did laugh as they trotted onward?

TOM> "Aye he would but unless he has us followed there's only you and me out here lady so I guess you at my mercy now ani't ya?'

He stopped the mount and leaned over kissing her as she returned the kiss softly as the passion did grow. The winds silent the birds sang in the meadows all was perfect. but where they a lone Tom sat up suddenly and looked a round as Jen sat stunned at his kiss not noticing his alert.

BlackHawk

Black hawk signaled to Two Moons to leave him. He needed to meditate and ask the spirits for direction, if he was going to carry out the plan he had in his mind. Urging his horse on he made him gallop to a ridge overlooking the fort. From there he could survey the area below and around him. He looked to the sky and saw his friend the eagle soaring high above his head.

"Yes patient one, I understand I must bide my time just as you are biding yours keeping my eyes open and obseving before I strike. I see my prey below me coming from the fort with her companion just as you watch for the rabbit in the sage brush waiting learning its direction and its purpose before striking, so must I do that also. It would be foolish to ride down there now and capture her. I must wait for the time and the place to be right If I have the patience that you have my friend I will wait."

Only then did he look down to watch the young maiden. She was indeed beautifull, her hair the color of a blazing fire. She rode well he thought even though she came from the city in the east. She had a naturalness about her that aroused him. Yes he would enjoy taking this one. She would be a challenge for him he was sure but Blackhawk looked forward to the challenge. He smiled and remembered the eagle.

"Yes my friend", he looked up to see the eagle still cicling above him "I will be patient. enjoying the anticiation as much as the goal."

Jen

Five men on horse back raced to Tom and Jennifer, is a rush of dust and dirt flying all around as tom pulled up his mount to steady it. His eyes narrowed as he looked out to the others around him now they where his men from the fort.

TOM> "What's the meaning if this Sergeant?"

Paterson> It's Urgant from the captain Sir.

Sergeant Paterson was one of the Drakes best men and he handed him the note waiting for his reply.

The note read:

Tom get my daughter to safety at once .There has been word of a possible uprising at the fort. A man was spotted in the fort only hours ago and I want a search of the surrounding lands no Savage will be in this fort or around it while my daughter is here. Keep her back at the cabin out of harms way.Leave Paterson with her he will keep watch. Return as soon as she is safe Tom. I am counting on you"
Captain Randel.

Tom almost growled as he nodded to the others then looked to jen and handed her the note so she could read it.

TOM> " looks like our ride is called short love. I need to get you secure back at the cabin it's only over the next rise we will need to ride hard and fast can you keep up ?"

"You know I can without a problem Tom just hurry back and make sure my father is safe."

They rode to the cabin and opening the door making sure all was right and all secure as Sergeant Paterson stood watch at the door and Tom kissed Jen good bye. a long passinate kiss filled with promise and desire. Then jumping on his horse and taking off in a flurry leaving her the one horse she rode in on and pattersons and sergeant Paterson guarding the front door and her.

She looked a round worried a bout her father and Tom but she kept her self busy finding baking supplies and started a small dinner in the open fire in the hearth. She realized she was out of water for her stew . taking off the apron she hung it on the rail at the back door after she opened it and stepped out seeing the well and made her way to it quickly lifting up the bucket reaching to gather fresh water to add to her gray.

Black Hawk

Black Hawk watched from high on the ridge as five men rode up to the two riders he had been watching. Their haste meant much to Black hawk as he studied the scene taking place below him. First he surmised that there was an urgent warning to be dliiverd and a change of plans for the two.

His assumption had been correct as he saw one of the men lead the woman off in a diferent direction that they had been riding before the interuption. the fact that another man rode with her told him that he was there to guard the woman and that the first man was needed back at the fort. He looked in the direction that the woman and her new companion were heading and saw a small cabin tucked into a smal copse of woods. Perfect he thought hed' have no trouble getting close to the cabin without being discovered because of the trees and brush around it. Her companion would no doubt be watching the rode. White men were so foolish to follow the roads they made or maybe they were afraid they would get lost. or just plain lazy.

He looked skyward for a sign and saw the eagle circle one more time and then plunge earthward towards the rabbit who thought he was safe in a small clump of grass and had let down his guard.

chlucking to his horse he rode slowly around the rim of the canyon so as to not raise any dust and then as he reached a dry run gully started downward. At the bottom he rode ahead for a hundre paces or so and the turning around went back again dismounting he cut a bundle of sagebrush and wiping out his foot prints mounted his horse again . Fastening the sagebrush to his horses tail he dropped it to the ground and urged his horse slowly forward.

In this manner he approached the cabin and making sure he was in the cover of the dry gully where he couldn't be seen from the cabin. He circled around it and came to within a hundred paces of the cabins back door. Dismounting he stepped quietly thru the brush and sat cross legged playing the waiting game again.

He didn't have to wait long as his prey the firehaired woman came out the back door to fetch water from the well. As she bent over to retrieve the pail, Black hawk made his move rising up silently from his sitting position and moving silenty towards her. His hand went around her mouth and he lifted her easily into his arms and carried her to his horse. She fought valently and he smiled. This one had fire in her blood as well as in her hair he thought maybe he would make her his bride instead of asking for ransom. But then he remembered his people starving on the barren land the whiteman had pushed them into and forgetting his passion remembered his duty. In a few short minutes they were on his horse her hands tied her mouth gagged sitting if front of him as they moved silently away from the cabin his horse draging the brush covering thier tracks.

A short time later as they reached the gully out of site and sound from the cabin he removed the gag for m her mouth and untied the brush as the ground from here on was hard and would leave no sign of their presence.

Jen

The door swung open and banged against the cabin staying open as she made her way to the well. The Bucket was dropped into the well she heard it hit water as she reached a hand to the crack to turn it bringing up the bucket. It was then that she felt the hand clamp over her mouth and her feet leaving the ground. She struggled she tried to squirm her way out of those massive arms that held her. Who was it that had her she couldn't even get a look at the man but she knew he was a strong son of a ...

She was pulled up to a horse as she did catch sight of his thick muscular around her holding her close to his sweaty form. Her mouth was gagged so there was no crying out, but she did scream a muffled cry as she then realizing this was one of those savages her father had seen in the camp.

His naked chest and legs around her told her of the fact. Plus the Indian pony they sat on show it proudly from the way he was painted up, feathers and marking of his native lounge. She struggled wildly on that mount but it didn't seem to flinch not rider or horse. He stopped way to far away from the cabin for any to hear her pleases and she knew it. He untied the gage and then jumped down to untie the brush from behind the horse. She glared to him afraid yes but angry even more. This was the first time she had seen her captor. But she was to angry to assess the situation. She shouted thought clenched teeth back to the beast.

"How Dare you! HOW DARE YOU ... What gives you the right to take me away from my family and friends. I just got here. My father will hunt you down. He will skin your sorry Indian hide ... and don't think he won't. Tom will..."

She stopped mid sentence ... thinking to her self oh God what will Tom do about this? She knew how jealous he was and his hate of the Indians would he even want to be near her after this. even though nothing happened. And she was not about to let it...

He worked behind the horse not seeming to even hear her or at least if he did he paid her no mind. she took that as her chance to run for it . Knowing she couldn't take the horse her hand where still tied but not her feet if she could get in hearing distance to the cabin maybe that good for nothing sergeant would hear her. She rolled to the side and managed to hit the ground in a crouch from the horse. Feet took off running ,. Thank God she still had on her britches and boots instead of that skirt and heels. She ran. and ran deep into the bushes not following the trail trying to switch back and forth to confuse him maybe she could out run him. She screamed out loud hoping someone would be in the area someone would hear her pleas and take pity on her.

"HELP ME PLEASE! Somebody Tom, where are you father please..... Somebody!"

Black hawk

Foolish woman black hawk thought but he had to admit that she was not an easy catch, that she wouldn't give up easily and he had to keep a carefull eye on her and convince her later that it was useless to try to run away from a brave whos life was spent running His long muscled legs carried him swiftly behind her and his arm reached out and pulled her close to his naked chest.

She screamed and he looked at her in amusement.

"It does no good for you to scream and struggle little one. any one who is near will think its just a screech owl. I know you have much fire inside you but you must save it for the days ahead we have a long way to go and a short time to get there, so calm yourself."

She was even more beautiful than he had thought. her hair the color of an autmn sunset red but with highlights that almost seeemed to speak to him telling him of the fire that was her passion for life and her desire to enjoy and share that passion.

Her green eyes spoke to him too but sent a diferent message even with the fear and anger in them. Hidden deep inside he saw a resolution to never have any one control her. That he would have to travel deep down into the depth of those green eyes and see her soul before he could even hope to be one with her. It would be a long and dangerous journey for only the brave would dare attempt. Any mistake and she would close herself off from him and it would take much courage to regain entrance.

All of that was of little concern to Black hawk at this time however as he had more to worry about than capturing the heart and soul of this woman. He had to put some distance between him and the soldiers of the fort He scooped her up and brought her back to his horse. he had hoped that she was calm enough to have a quick drink of water and a little respite from riding, however time had been lost chasing her through the brush and the sun wouild be setting by the time they made the next stop. Perhaps it was just as well she would have to wait till nightfall He whistled and up from the gully Two Moons appeared with two fresh horses. He smiled to his friend.

"This one is a fighter, but she can be broken and she is certainly worth it, is she not."

Two moons nodded and answered, "she is all of that, my brother, take care with her, she may be trouble, but as you say she will be worth the effort." He mounted Black Hawks horse and rode away the two fresh horses had provisions for the trip on them and Black hawk commanded the woman to mount the dark roan with the black mane.

"You'll have to get used to riding without a saddle he said his voice gentle now. after a day or so you wont mind in fact you might enjoy the feel of this stalions back against you." The woman started to run again and Brave Hawk pulled her hard agains his bare body. It will do no good for you to run little one you will die of thirst before anyone finds you and your cries will be thheard as the shrieks of the vultures as they wait for your death.

The woman reluctently climbed on the roan and taking the reins Black Hawk mounted the bay and they headed down the gully towards the lowlands beyond the ridge that he had stood on this morning,

Jen

She glared at him with eyes of fire the rage felt so strong in her as she hear him telling her she sounded like a screech owl. In her heart she knew she couldn't be heard, that her screams where all in vain. She could not even go any further the cliffs seemed to block her path. She hated the way he stared back at her, looking so boldly into her eyes, like he was trying to reach into her soul and gain entrance. Pushing back at him trying to get away as she felt herself again being lifted up off the ground like a sack of flour in his powerful grasp and taken back to the horse. He tried to offer her a drunk yet she turned from him refusing anything from him.

"Would rather drink from the belly of a snake then drink where you have had that mouth of yours."

She spit to the ground at his feet to show her disgust of the whole situation. she jump seeing a second pop up from the grasses. Now seeing two of them her hopes stared to fail, as she let off a sigh hearing them both talking about her like she was not even there. She heard him command her to ride the roan as she stared to move to it she took one last break hopping he would be to busy with his friend over here yet that to was stopped quickly . Jen was blocked again in those powerful claws he called arms. Then heard his words about the vultures.

"I prefer death... But I will rejoice in yours . When I see my father and Tom come for me. They will tears you apart for daring to even look at me the wrong way, let a lone touch me and take me away from them."

She pulled from his arms she felt then loosen a bit at his words . She snarled like a tigresses and moved to the roan then climbed on her hand still tied but lose enough to hang on to the reigns and lift her self up. Glaring to both men but the larger man more so he was the one that forcibly took her away from all she knew and loved. she sat tall in the saddle trying to not show any fear those if he now held to her holding her next to him he would fell her body tremble she was afraid, she was scared where was this savage taking her what did he have planed for her? She heard the Indians respected bravery and courage ,but in a woman would they except it? She saw Two moons trun and leave and again they where alone just the two of then her chances where getting better again.

She sat silence not saying a word as they traveled not even asking where the other brave went with the other horse as she loped along behind him. Night was drawing near and she was dry, her throat burned. Maybe she should have taken that water from him back there but still she had her pride. Suddenly feeling the roan stop . her eyes leared to him as he dismounted . BalckHawk reached up to offer her help to get down. All she did was shake her head no and refuse his help, as she slide down on he own . At this point barley able to get to a standing position as she hit the ground, but she managed it. It had been a long time since she spent all day in the saddle , or even longer bare back. She started to walk away from him as she felt him grab her arm with those claws of his, there she did speak.

"do you mind? I need to ... find a bush it has been a long ride... or do you have to watch me do that as well? You big oaf.."

He laugher at her , and nodded to the tree as he stood watching her duck behind it. She thought about running again but she was to tired from the ride and to thirsty . She thought about resting and in the middle of the night sneaking off. Yes that's what she would do. He would be sleeping she was quiet she could maybe even steal one of the horses and run on her own. surely a town had to be some where around them they traveled for miles . Something had to be close by now ,she had seen nothing on the way ,not another soul or even a small animal. Yes that's what she would do.

She looked back to him as she walked back out to where he was glaring down to her. Lowering down she sat under another tree gnawing at the ropes at her hands right in front of him ,as she looked at him staring at her.

"Well... You gone to make me eat and sleep like this to or ya going to help me ? Come on."

Her arms lifted up hoping he would untie her.

Oh, this does sound like fun. I think I'll take on Leuitenant Drake, if you don't mind. He seems like the most interesting to play.

Ooc: Welcome Pap, a pleasure working under you again (or on top, whichever you prefer)

Drake had spent most of the afternoon on his horse. The northern ridges were where they spent most of their efforts for the day. He had heard that sightings came mostly from the north, and so here he had his men search of rnaything strange.
About an hour into the excursion, they found some old camps, cleverly hidden, but still there nontheless. He squinted, feeling the ash from the ground through his fingers. They were clever little bastards, something a bit more than common pests, but pests just the same.
"Sir, the light is fading."
He held up his hand, to quiet the private. He held his horse back, in search for something to occupy himself as Drake continued his search.
"Must have been a week or so, they could be anywhere by now. The search is useless the rest of today. Injuns are better at hiding in the dark. Best to leave back to the fort for the day, start up in the western fields tomorrow, and see if they could find any trail.
The ride back home was short and quiet. They kept their horses at a brisk gallop. Drake wanted to get home. His new found interest in his beloved had his heart leap. Of course, her father wouldn't let them spend the night together, but after he was done socializing with Jenny, he was sure that his mistress wouldn't mind a visit.
Sadie was good like that to him, and he respected her for it. A loyal friendship based on sex, at least thats what he thought of it as. He hadn't told her about Jenny.
Something men didn't care about much.
As they moved into the camp, a scream came from the few people within the village, one of them running to his party. He stopped the rest, his horse sprinting up to the man. In the poor light Drake couldn't see who it was.
It was Sargeant Kraft.
"What are you doing here, aren't you supposed to be..."
He pulled on the horses reigns, causing them both to be startled, "It's Miss Randall. She is missing."
"Missing?"
Kraft nodded, running back to the fort. Drake didn't waste time, he dug his heels deep into the horse, and set off for the house.
What could have happened?
Thoughts of damned savages already toying in his mind.

Captian Randle

Terrance Randel already heard the commotion from his desk inside his office. The captain jumped up from his chair and made his way to the front porch of his office just as the group was entering the gates and sergeant Kraft was explaining what was wrong. His eye's bulged in rage his lips thinned in intence angre as he heard the news. Then screaming out orders to ready the troops and get back to the cabin at once as he stared down both Kraft and Thomas Drake.
"Lieutenant ... Sergeant my office at once! "

He wasted no time as he crossed the courtyard to grab up Sergeant Kraft by the collar , shouting to him his eyes glaring.

"Where is my daughter!.... Who was watching her while I sent the Lieutenant out on duties?"

The sergeant stared back afraid to his commanding officer. And stammered "I ... I was sir. She got out the back door I found the door open and her apron on the rail. I searched Sir, I saw no signs nothing then I found the lieutenant."

The captain threw the man to the ground as she growled and looked to Drake. I left her in your charge Lieutenant and now I want her found. Do you hear me! And she better be in one piece. I want every avilable man out on this detail at once Move it Lieutenant..."

He knew Tom was worried about Jennifer. He could see it in his eyes . He was not at all pleased and knew he would do all in his power to find her. but what happened back at that cabin ... Who took her and why? His mind was on his beoved daughter. she had just got back into his life he was not about to lose her all in the samer day. His voice rang out over the camp authourity and demand in his tone.

"NOW!"

BlackHawk

Just as Black Hawk had planned they reached the small wooded area just before sunset. He knew they were near when the smell of water reached them and a bit later the sound of it rushing downhill towards the dry run they had been following all day. The high cliffs that surrounded them on both sides had gently given way to grassy hills and green valleys. The dry run had become a river as water from a stream entered it. He signaled his bay to stop and the roan carrying the woman came to a halt behind him. He pulled the blanket and pack sack from the horses back and gave him a gentle swat as it headed for the stream. He freed the woman's hands and watched her in amusement as she disappeared behind a tree to relieve herself. Another blanket and pack sack removed and the roan was free to drink too. He went himself to the edge and pouring out the warm water from his water pouch refilled it with fresh cool water from the stream. Going back up the bank he saw the woman returning from behind the tree and offered her a drink when she looked at in disdain he said gently

“The water is fresh I just filled it from the stream, you will be the first to taste it."

He watched the woman drink and then looked to the west where the sun was setting. The sky had turned crimson and gold. the clouds on the horizon reflecting all its splendor.

“come...he hesitated, and then looked at her curiously and then added trying not to sound to demanding, “what is your name, woman”

"Jennifer Randel" she said drawing up her shoulder proudly.

“Jen will be enough for now he said quietly, I will give you a proper name after I get a sign. He looked toward the hills hoping to get one now but knew he had to get to know more about what was inside of this Jen before it would be revealed to him. He picked up the pack sacks.

“Come ...Jen it is good that you walk a bit after you have ridden all day. Your legs will not bind up in the middle of the night if you walk the stiffness out, besides I have something to show you and a way to tell you why it is that you are here with me at this time .He motioned her toward a deer path that led along the stream.

“Just follow the path he directed I will tell you when to stop”. He knew he needed to stay behind her she still might try to get away now that her hands were free.

The terrain changed as they moved upstream and soon they were climbing a steep rocky ridge Black Hawk saw he look back at him.

“Just a few feet more he said, coming back will be easier.” The last few feet leveled off into a grassy plateau.

“We will sleep here tonight he said, setting down the packs .” he gathered some sticks dry moss and some bark from a nearby birch tree together and using a flint stone soon had a fire started.

He looked to the west he had wanted to share the view with her and explain the meaning of their encounter but the sun had already set and besides she seemed to be in now mood to enjoy the scenery so he said simply as he tossed a blanket and a deerskin night dress to her.

“Put this on, your clothes are damp and will chill you in the night, this will keep you dry. He saw her hesitate and added “ Don’t be a foolish woman it will do neither of us any good if you get ill and I won’t take advantage of you in the night that is not my purpose. You will find out in the morning what my purpose is, for now just know that I am bound by my honor not to harm you in any way. When you have finished changing there is some corn and dried venison in one of the pouches. That will be all there is to eat tonight tomorrow maybe a fish or a fresh rabbit but tonight this will have to do.”

Black Hawk stripped down to his loincloth and pulled a blanket over his shoulders. He squatted in front of the fire eating slowly from his pouch.

"Front and center!"
Drake watched them all line up, one by on, each in different state of dress. The ones that had scouted with him were still in uniform, but they had a look of tired expression of them. They were ready for bed, and to be honest, so was he. More work distasted him, but his fear of Jen's disappearance clung in the air, like the static before a huge storm.
"I want three scouts, all searching the surrounding areas, take out best horses, and search for anything you can."
As he pointed to the three men, they ran off to the stables, with little more than a salute.
"The rest, scower the house, try and find some trail as to her disappearance. If she is lost, I want her found, if she is taken, I want to know where they went. This is the Captain's daughter, so don't fuck this one up guys. She will be found by morning, understood?"
They each gave a haughty curse, saluting and then running off in different directions. Drake stood there for a second, wiping the saliva from the corner of his mouth, and ran up the cleared street path inside the fort to the house, hoping he himself could find a clue, something to help them on their way.
The search continued throughout the night, but little was found. After midnight, he called it off, everyone in to get some rest. In the morning they would start fresh, and hopefully get a clearer picture of what had just got on.
He continued to have scouts out, looking for any sign of her, as the rest went to sleep, awaiting the morning.
As for Drake, he stayed up, stirring the fire in the middle of the camp, unsure of what to do.
Unsure of how to bring her home.

Jen

She didn't want to drink from him yet she was so dry. Wiping the neck and then drank greedily at first the slowed so not to get herself sick. He said something about walking, she had been on a horse all day and her legs ached already but she would not be weak she had to show him she was strong so she followed him in silence all the way. Not even complaining when the rocks got steep and dangerous she climbed then and stayed silent till they got to the ridge. It was then that she looked around and saw the beautiful place he had taken her to and he jaw did drop as she looked all around in awl. Then she saw the dress thrown to her feet she narrowed her gaze as she looked to it then to him.

"You've got to be kidding... I'm not wearing that disgusting thing. I will keep my own clothes thanks you. It's freezing up here in these mountains."

She moved closer to the flames reaching her hands out to the fire rubbing them together as she heard him call her foolish again. That was the second time to day he called he that. No one talking to her like that no one ever, dared but maybe her pa ... She glared back to him hearing him talk about honor and his word. As she shook her head seeing him strip down to next to nothing she had to blush and look away.

"Honor ... that's a laugh you know nothing if honor. Or you would not have taken the Captains daughter in the first place. And its Miss Randel to you. I refuses to answer to any other silly name you find for me but that. And I refuses ... To wear those filthy rags..."

Yes, the spoiled daughter of the captain did shine thought at this moment. It was not offend her temper got so riled that she let that side show of her. She was not the type to act all prim and proper unless it was called for but at this moment she was tired achy and hungry and yes wet. She saw a pouch setting near her feet as she picked it up and stared to eat from it. The dried venison inside seemed to fill her belly as she ate and took another drink from the vessel once more before he took a swig she refused to share with him after he touched it.

Her back was to him as she sat there eating, the moon shinning down over her almost creating a halo over her head. The Moon seemed to illuminate her as she sat there eating in silence looking out into the other direction. She felt the night dress again thrusted into her hand he sat closer holding it in his hand not saying a word but his eyes told her to take it. It was dry she knew that and she was cold and wet her body shook even slightly from the chill and she took it and stood dropping the bag to the ground moving to a bush...

"You stay right there....if you come near me while I am changing ... I will gut you from one end of your belly to the other you hear me Injun? "

She ducked behind the bush watching him his. She had nothing but her sharp tongue to cut him with and he knew it but the threat seemed to help her some. He didn't move except to laugh at her, that only infuriated her even more. She slipped into the butter soft tunic that she would use as a night dress. She was grateful for that at least. She had heard the Indians slept in the raw just another reason she thought they where called savages.

The moonlight seemed to disappear as she hid behind the bush he kept his eye on her all the time even a side glance was enough to keep her in his sights, he thought it strange the moon hid as she did then she appeared and again so did the moon, shinning down over her form. Cascading her with the light of the shining moon in the night skies.

The dress felt good against her skin but she didn't want to admit it to him as she walked back and grabbed a blanket he set for her and wrapped it around her as she picked up the bag and started eating again. She had no idea of the moon playing its tricks this night she was to tired to even notice and thinking about a way to escapee. She gazed into the flames and lowered her head mumbling to herself more of a prayer but spoken softly

"Lord pleased guide them back to me let them find me. I need Tom.... Tom... Where are you, pleases find me...I came here to be with you so we could be married and spend time with you and father, now look what happen? Why did this happen what went wrong? Daddy please find me ..."

I paced my room in town as I watched the trees blow in the wind. I knew that Tom was to visit my bed soon but I knew not when. I pulled my shawl around myself tightly as I went to sit by the fire. My hair hung down straight and past my waist. Quickly I tied it up into a braided ponytail to keep it out of my face.

Black Hawk

Brave Hawk watched as the woman moved about. Even in the dark she was sure footed not at all like he had expected her to be. He knew little of her background except gossip the old squaws in his village spread. That she was the captains daughter and that she had grown up on a small farm on the outskirts of town. Her father had sent her back east to finishing school and now she had returned to marry one of the soldiers.

That is why his Black Hawks father had instructed him to kidnap her. She would be a prize that would give his tribe the power to make demands of the white men and get their precious land back.

It was his fathers dream to live out his life in the green valley, to see his sons and daughters prosper and his grandchildren play free and safe by the cool waters and on the grassy hills surrounding his village. Brave Hawk hoped with all his heart he could make this happen for his father, willing to face the danger the task presented to him.

The moon now high in the sky caught his attention. He gazed at it and searched for it’s spirit. It was being elusive tonight gliding behind the filmy clouds hiding its light from time to time. When it disappeared from his sight he searched for it in vain and then just as quickly as it had gone it returned bathing the landscape in it’s heavenly glow. His gaze returned to the woman, now dressed in the doeskin nightshirt. The moons glow seemed to surround her. cascading through her hair, lighting up her proud face and softy bathing her body in its splendor. Even her green eyes reflected its light causing Brave Hawk to shiver wondering what was behind that reflective look.
The moon passed behind a cloud and all was dark his gaze remained in her direction. He caught his breath in amazement when even in the darkness he saw the moonlight continue to shine in her eyes.

“Shining moon” he said under his breath and then realizing it was the moons spirit speaking to him, he smiled. “Yes, he thought her name shall be shining moon.”

Stepping cautiously in her direction so as not to alarm her, he said softly. “My name is Brave Hawk, and the spirits have decided you shall be called Shining Moon. Now that we know each other it is time to make a truce.”

“No more will be said about this tonight for it is late and we must start early in the morning. It will be better to discuss this then when we have rested and the morning sun makes us forget the trials we have suffered today. He motioned towards the fire. Sleep now Shining Moon, the spirits will guide you now that they know your name."

Brave Hawk turned and the moon now shining in a cloudless sky guided his footsteps as he made his way back down the stream to take care of their horses. Hobbling them so that they would not wander of into the night. He rubbed their necks a bit and gave them a ration of corn from his pouch. Returning to the plateau he added wood to the fire and squatted awhile in its warmth before laying out his blanket in the trail, the only way off of the plateau assuring him that Shining Moon would be here in the morning.

Jen

He spoke to her in a calm even a gentle tone one she was not expecting truly ffrom him. She heard his words her back still to him she was being obstante and not looking at him, and she was so tired. Shinning Moon, she thought hearing his words to her, it was a very beautiful name and have a very nice ring to it but she refused to be called by him from any other name but Miss Randel and she already told him that. she was also glad when he spoke of no more words tonight all though he was the one doing all the talking at the moment. he moved away as she thought about what he said. How could he call for a truce what had she done to him for a truce ? He stold her from her family took her away by force , ties her up and now was holding her captive. he had another thing coming he was lucky she was so sleepy or she would have bit his head off? Or so she told her self.

She looked over her shoulder seeing him walking down the trail .he was a big fellow rather tall for and indian ,with all that long raven black hair flowing freely down his back. maybe that's why they call him Black Hawk she thought to herself. He said the names had come from some sort of signs. she could see by the way he was built he would have no trouble keeping her where he wanted her. If he could find her she thought as she smiled softly her plan already in motion.

The chirping of the crickets and the accessional hoot of the owl in the tree over head seemed to be the only sounds into the night. Jen slept peaceful she was exhausted. from her ordeal. She slept well into the night sleeping longer then she intended to. lifting up, looking around for him still not seeing him she smiled then looked for her cloths back where she left them. They where gone. She would have to make her run for it dressed as a savage. she gathered what was left of the corn meal and the water skin and she stared into the thicket heading down the path. she stopped suddenly seeing him sleeping in the middle of the trail. she would have to cut around through the bushes but she had to be quiet or he would wake up. she tipped toes around trying not to make a sound and she was doing pretty good but she had to go far on the other side of the plateau the steep end ,where it was clear to walk. She was almost past his spot as she heard this snarl then a growl and that's when she saw it and froze.

A large cat a bob cat maybe, she didn't know truely what it was. All she knew was that thing had sharp claws and very large teeth that he had no problem showing to her. the growls got louder as she tried to back up the beast jumped on to the path she was on blocking her and now the only way to go was back to Black Hawk or over the cliff and it was a long way down as this things paced back in froth in front of her. It gave a Growl she threw a rock at it hoping to scare it off it only made it madder. It growled loudly and swatted at her with its claw she jumped back in time but Screamed...

It was the light footsteps on the ground that got him out of his daydream. He had been staring at the fire for quite some time, unsure what to exactly make of all this, his mind gong through different situations, scenarios, each more frightening in the last, none of them much hopeful.
"Oh," he thought it was one of the other soldiers, immediately standing up to address the man an his business, but as the figure moved into the view of light, he saw it wasn't a man at all.
"Sadie," the word almost foreign, resounded in his head. As he heard it, he knew he had forgotten their date together. All of these plans with Jennifer had him running around half of the night, and he had forgotten about her.
"I'm sorry, I should have come. Someone was lost earlier, and I had to get everyone together to try and find her. I'm sorry, I should have said something earlier."
He sat down again, opening his arms to her, inviting her to sit next to him.
"Come, we can enjoy the fire together."

Black Hawk

Black Hawks sleep was interupted by her screams and he jumped up and crouched in one motion facing the direction of the sound. His hand went for his knife and he threw it with deadly accuracy as the bob cat illuminated by the moon light poised to leap.

The knife caught it full in the chest and it fell backward silent and unmoving. The woman turned to him a look of horror on her face not knowing what to do and then no longer in contol of he actions rushed into Black Hawks arms.

His hand went automatically to her shoulders as he cradled her body, his other arm around her backside holding her up against his body.

He held her for a minute he trembling body pressed against his. He felt the softness of her breasts through the thin doeskin dress and his other hand was againts the bare skin of her firm bottom. He looked down at her as her ragged breathing subsided and saw again the reflected moon in her green eyes.

"Shining moon," he said softly and then as if it was the natural thing to do he kissed her. Full and hard and demanding as if he were sealing with a kiss the name the spirits had given her.

he felt his passion rise and wanting more pulled her closer a moan escaping from his throat.

"Mmmmmm..... No!! he suddenly exclaimed pushing her away. this is not meant to be." He shivered as he still felt the heat of her body on his hands and lips. Turning he gathered up her clothes that he had hung to dry near the fire. "They're dry now, he exclaimed his voice unsteady. besides it's close enough to morning to get ready to ride."

What he said was true as the sun rising behind them in the east began to light up the valley below and the surrounding hills. He fixed the fire and headed down the hill toward the horses not wanting to face her at this time, afraid she might see his true feelings.

"You can bathe if you wish the water may be cold but it will bring you wakefulness."; He called over his shoulder as he disappeared into the brush.

Jen

The cat's sharp claw where outstretched she thought for sure this was it. Then as it perched to lunge at her she heard the blade meet its marks and the cat fell backwards in death, its breath stolen from it by the kneen scenes of the man that she now ran to.

She was scared more so then ever in her life as she ran to Black Hawk. Her arms pulled at him almost clawing him in her fright to get a hold of something to get her safe. she did felt safe at that moment in his arms. they held her tight against him cradeling her like a child. she could feel his heart pounding almost as fast as her own. that's when she took a breath trying to calm down. Thats was when she hear his call to her the name he chose for her , she looked up to him. His eyes stared down to her. She met his gaze , her heart still pounding in fear ,her body almost crushed against his massive size. she clung so tightly to him yet he held her warmly against him.

The way he called her name sent chills down her spin ,then his lips took to her own . she felt the stir of emotions fill her as his lips toook to hers. She stared into his eyes they never left hers. Not untill she heard him moan as if lost in the reflection itself that he gazed to as well as the pull of the moment. Suddenly as if burn by fire it self, she felt him pull away. Almost pushing her back shouting.
" NO!"

She stared to him strangely . Confussion set int quickly , she hardly hear him tell her they would ride soon but he left as her clothes where thrust into Her hand . Then just as quickly she saw him take off to the bush ... Those green hues blinked as she held a hand to her lips feeling then tingle and asking herself why? She was surprised, and shocked at the reaction they both had to this even .Yet she stood there. He was gone and she stood there as his name came from under those trembeling liops. His name a mere whisper from her breath.

"Black Hawk..."

Suddenly the water was there some how she made her way near the water. her foot hit the chilling waters and it did bring what he called wakefulness to her. it brought her back to reality. they was no time for a bath. this was the break she needed , this was what she would take to get away.

Back to Tom and father .. yes Tom .. she wanted to get to Tom . she had to feel his arms around her not some savage. She keep telling herself that . That had to be the fright yes it was only the fright that drew her into his arms . she must have thought Black Hawk was Thomas Drake in her fright from the large cat. yes that's it ,she told her self it was Tom she went to not Black Hawk.

Her prayers where answered , as she saw him take the horses to the water. she guessed to water then before the long ride ahead. he had his back to her as he tied then off and quickly almost ran back into the bush as if not wanting to see her. This was her break and she was going to take it.

She quickly threw off the doe skin tunic he had given her throwing it to the ground. Quickly she covered herself with her own clothes . then the she sunk to the ground moving to the beast. a hand reached out to stroke the aminals the beast mane , letting him get to know her touch and her scent. she quickly jumped on and kicked the stallion in the sides he took off down through the thicket over the bushes and into the clearing.

Faster and faster she raced afraid to look back Afraid he would be there. she switched back across the trail. trying to find the same one they had taken , but trying to confuses him at the same time. she did this for hours. one time she thought she heard him behind her she hide in a bush holding the mussel of the beast against her cheek breathing out to him so he would know her own breath and scent. he was a good mont but would he go to his own master if he caught his scent?

she waited till a gentle rain started and she again took off going away from any tracks made by a man or horse. till she saw the lights of a small town or was it the fort. had she made it back had she found people to help her? she was winded she was hungry her chest hurt from riding so long and so hard. And out alond in the dark of night and in the cold rain .

she got to the gate to the town but her horse bolted and threw her to the ground. she laid there a heap just cold wet and shivering as a soilder ran to her lifting her. it was Sergeant Kraft. he found her. but with no idea what happen to her?

he grabbed her up and carried her to the horses wrapping her in old army blankets and holding her in his lap as he broke for the fort. it would be a hard ride but he felt he had to get her their to save his sorry hide himself. he was the one that let the who ever it was get to her in the first place. she bounced lifelessly over his lap on the saddle, she was only dazed and exhausted a large bump to the back of her head from he fall was the only mark and the bruise to the side of her head to where where she fell shown . He rode hard and well into the night as he sprinted into fort Jerry shouting...

"Captain.... leutentiant. I found her ... I found her she needs help get the doc ... she hurt."

Black Hawk

Hidden in the brush Black Hawk cursed as he adjusted his manhood under the flap of his loincloth. It had risen up with an urgency he couldn't understand or accept, when Shining Moon was in his arms. It had slipped through the bounds of the cloth and was throbing against the inside of the front flap.

Now it had settled some as he tucked it back in but still his groin had that unmistakable ache. the ache for a woman, this woman.

This white woman? but why? he asked himself would he desire her this way. She was only his captive a pawn in the game that was about to be played out between his people and the white men. he had no interest in her as a woman. She amused him in her foolish ways and he though he had to admit that she had gumption, that her will to survive was strong that she would use any means she had to escape, she was still a white woman.

The clatter of hooves on the rocky ground broke his concentration. He whirled about to see where the sound was coming from and where it was going. The woman! the woman was riding away! She had escaped! Black hawk ran up to the plateau where he saw the nightdress thrown carelessly on the ground . The womans clothes were gone.Resisting the urge to rush after her, Black Hawk bent over and picked up the doeskin dress. It was still warm from her body and he put it to his face and smelled her aroma on it. The stiring came back to his loins and Black Hawk let out a howl.

aaaiiiiieee! Iv'e lost her. I've lost my Shining moon.He realized then she was more than a captive more than a pawn in a game. More than even just a woman. Black Hawk felt that a part of him was riding away riding away from him He had to get her back somehow his life would not be whole without her in it.

Jen's dream

She hit the ground and she hit the ground hard, the breath knocked out of her. she hears the mighty roar of the winds or was the a howl in the distance sharp cry of pain echoed in her ears. Or was it the distance she didn't know but_ she heard something_ as she felt herself drifting off , drifting off to a different place, a place she had been before a place_ she felt warm and free and happy.

A warm lazy afternoon sprang out before her. She could see the colors of the forest the green trees and grass that lay over a lazy country meadow . the sounds of laughter, the feel of warmth as she felt two strong arms around her, as her eyes drifted closed. Music played in the background to her via the sounds of the birds in the trees and the winds whistle though the airy skies._ She leaned back and felt his chest_ cradle her head against_ his warmth. a hand_ lifted , it ran strong guiding fingers through her hair. the kiss of his lips to her_ head as she turn to look into his eyes as she was stopped by those same hands_ that held her so protectively so_ gentle yet strong. her nose could scene his scent his essence the strong musky manly scent of ... what was that was it a woodsy smell or a smell of the clean freshly bathed scent_ of a man her man. but who was holding her?

She didn't know she couldn't tell, She opened her eyes looking about he was gone. But no he was beside her she felt his hand to her shoulder she saw the arms of blue the uniform of the solider that won her heart back in Boston, yes it was her Tom, Thomas Drake had his arm protectively on her left shoulder smiling at her. His handsome features his winning smile told her he was with her and she had nothing to fear his lips,_ lowered they___ claimed hers again. the kiss warmed her touched her soul she felt his comfort as she smiled back. her voice echoed in her ears as she called out his name "Tom..." Then as if magic he disappeared and a touch came to her right shoulder.

She turned looking_ for Tom was he played___ tricks on her_ she looked up as she felt the arms encircle her in a warm embrace, she looked up to him_ her eyes locking in on the darkest almost black as night eyes she had every seen. but she knew these eyes, she knew this touch her heart leaped in excitement, it was her brave__ her Black Hawk. he looked to her_ telling her with his eyes_ she had nothing to fear in his arms. his savagely handsome features touched her as she looked to him felt his breath claim her lips as he took the taste of her own lips to his as she willingly returned_ the passion fill caress. then she_ felt her arms go limp her lips craved his kiss . they whispered his name as she felt him pull away. "Black Hawk..."

Her arms felt limp and heavy, The pain in her head pounded she tried to open her eyes she could feel she was slung over a horse pounding the dirt in a race to get her somewhere , but who . was it Tom that had her or was it BlackHawk again ... she didn't know or did she know who she prayed it would be. Oh how she wanted to open those eyes oh how she needed to know what that dream meant.

The she hear it in the distance the echoes of voices she hear a man yell out some words they where jumbled to her all she got was..._ " She's hurt ..."_ As the blackness over took her again.
