The original post said, "When going to a GAY sauna or bathhouse...." It's fairly safe to make the assumption that anyone you meet at such an establishment is looking for gay sex and most will be receptive to just about anything.

That aside, and for the OP, why would secretive "signals" be necessary at a gay bathhouse. Open your mouth and communicate. Say what you want....or don't want. No need to sneak around when you're with like minded, mostly naked, men.
