I know every generation says this, but cartoons today are crap.

Which ones do you remember watching, sitting in the livingroom getting all jittery on Cocoa Puffs?

Teenage Mutant 'Hero' Turtles

Tranformers

Pole Position

Visionaires

Thundercats

X-Men (hey! i was 15 :D)

I remember watching a Nintendo-themed cartoon, but I forgot the name. It had Simon Belmont from Castlevania and Mega Man.

TMNT was another favorite. Lets not forget Hulk Hogan's Rock and Wrestling!

Afternoon 'toons were the best though. GI Joe, He-Man, Transformers, MASK.

I actually caught an episode of Thundercats on Cartoon Network a while ago. What could I have possibly liked about that show?

Lion-o's tight outfit?

Panthro's jive talking?

Cheetara's... well... everything?

I remember Rock and Wrestling!!

Capt Lou Albano was funny.

Never did get the deal with the elastic bands though...

Hell yeah they suck now!

Right now the only one i like is Static Shock. But look at all the crap the WB puts on in between the shows! There's a talking sock for crying out loud.

Even static shock pales in comparison to the awesome cartoons of the 80s. MASK, Ninja Turtles, GI Joe...ah those were the good ol' days.

Anyone else remember Challenge of the Super Friends?

It had all of the Justice League (Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman), but it also had the Legion of Doom, which was an organization of a bunch of the supervillains. All of the enemies of the superheroes were in the LoD: Lex Luthor, the Penguin, some giant talking gorilla (whose enemy was that?), and the yellow guy who fought the Green Lantern.

That was good television.

While Saturday morning cartoons have lost most of their flair, they have one new saving grace:
There is a new TMNT cartoon on fox. It is baised off of the old black and white comic book (only given a modern edge). From what I've seen it's pritty good.

Remember the episodes of the Superfriends with those hippies instead of the Wonder Twins?

What were those about?

They had a talking dog, of all things!

(I choose to believe in people with super powers but have a problem with a talking dog. Stay out of my psychosis!)

Oh yeah...

You know, Wonder Woman was a hottie too (both the cartoon and the live action one) but how did she know where she parked her invisible jet?

I lost my invisible car a long time ago...

I watched Bugs Bunny cartoons.. and Loony Toons, and Tiny Toons, and Ducktails, and Mickey Mouse Cartoons (Goofy kicked ass)

I miss those days.

I'm sure you were saying something...but I was distracted by your Av.

I am SUCH a guy.

From what I have noticed there are no more "Saturday Morning Cartoons" at least not as many as when I was growing up. I remember getting up at the break of dawn on Sat. and watching cartoons all morning and then watching WWF wrestling or American Gladiators at noon. Now I see about 2 hours of cartoons on the "Regular Networks i.e. CBS, NBC, ABC" then they show the same news programs they always show during the week. All I can say is thank you for the cartoon network, boomerang, and NICK, even though NICK isnt even the same.
