Sansa and The Mountain, an erotic fanfic

Hey all,

I believe, I've got a story idea worth pursuing. It's essentially a GOT/ASOIAF fanfiction. Essentially, the story involves Sansa Stark having a long running affair with Gregor Clegane aka The Mountain (the asshole giagantic elder brother, the one who kills The Viper).

Essentially it'll be a combination of arguably, the most innocent of all characters (a young, pre-cynical Sansa Stark) and the vilest and most depraved of human beings in all of Westeros, The Mountain. I personally find their match to be incredibly erotic and arousing.

The story would almost certainly start out as a non con/rape story, but Sansa eventually and slowly finds herself drawn to The Mountain. It's never about love for Sansa, but rather a sense of raw lust that attracts her to her defiler.

This is the general outline of the story, it can be twisted and edited and amended in any manner that the author deems fit.

It would run up against the "no non-con involving celebrities" rule, maybe- that one is inconsistently applied.

In any event, I personally find the Mountain the opposite of sexy, and poor Sansa had her share of non-con in the original stories thanks.

Interesting idea, but as mentioned above, it could run into censors being noncon celeb, even though it's fan fiction based on a show.

I think this story could work (to avoid censors) as a non-con story with original character, that exist in a world similar to GoT.

Indeed. Another aspect is, even with a show/book as immensely popular as that one ostensibly is, you can't effectively count on all readers having prior knowledge, thus will have regurgitate at least some of the history and setting for your story to have independent sense, and if not for any other reason then to demonstrate where and how your fork differs from the canon. So what you gain with poaching on someone's else IP is actually questionable anyway.

Using characters and the world as temple and inspiration is fine (the work in question itself is little more than postmodern retelling of a mix of myths), and with well placed subtitles those in the know would possibly grasp exactly what you're talking about anyway, while you gain much more freedom and avoid problems.

Would such a story run afoul of copyright laws, using someone else's characters and setting? I suppose on a site like this where the story is not published with the intent of financial profit it wouldn't be too big of an issue, but this same concern has stopped me from writing a similar modern literature-based fan fiction story (Based on a different novel.)

The exact status of fanfic under copyright law is murky, but in practice the rights holders rarely go after not-for-profit fanfic. Literotica seems to consider it an acceptable risk, as they have a category specifically for fanfic + celeb. However, as sirhugs noted, Literotica generally doesn't permit non-con in that category.

The other big problem here is the 18+ rule. As far as I can tell from the relevant wikis, Sansa is no more than 14 (book chronology) or 16 (TV chronology) at the point where Oberyn Martell poisons Gregor in their duel. IIRC, the site doesn't accept "aging-up" of characters who are canonically under-18.

edit: and even under the TV chronology, I don't think "pre-cynical" Sansa makes it to 18.
