"Hey... This is Sky-Wolf... I'm about to start operation zero..."

"All right... Just be careful, the gear you got on most likely won't protect you from the higher ranked Yakuza.'

"Rodger... SW over and out."

Alex stood at the top of the roof and looked down. The Yakuza were loading something in there trucks, probaly some newly developed Tech-Gear. Alex was told to steal whatever they were smuggling. Well, more like voluntered, he enjoyed pissing off Sydicates.

"Here we go!" Alex leaned forward and droped. His shoes suddenly activated and magnetized to the metal inside the building, ensuring Alex's free fall a safe one. The Yakuza didn't notice Alex until it was too late. Alex pulled out a small ball and tossed into into the mass of unsuspecting Yakuza. Then second it hit the street, the bomd exploded, sending the Yakuza flying. Alex slowed to a stop, then jumped of the side of the building and ran torwards the truck.

When he opened the door, he was suprised to only see two boxes, and a boy tied up and gagged. "What the hell?"

Lucius walked out into the street and patted down his clothes then took a look back inside the bar. He hated the fact that the people he killed burst into flame and the ashes got all over his clothing but he knew that it was only a minor inconvenience and nothing that he had to be worried about. He walked slowly down the street and as he did he began to hum and forget about his latest assignment because although he loved doing what he did he wanted to forget about the person or people that he had just killed because to him they were not people, they were just an assignment.

As soon as he came to his car and put his thumb onto the door handle to open it he thought otherwise and walked down the road to the nearest coffee shop. As he walked along he thought of how this place, how he had changed from the last time he had been in the neighbourhood. This place had caused what had happened to him and he told himself that he never wanted to come back here but as he walked into the coffee shop he found that he did not want to leave. With that thought foremost in his mind he walked to the closest table and sat down then looked out the window at the street and the run down buildings that were on the other side. He knew that he should feel sorry for these people but he asked himself why should he feel anything like that for them when they did not even have the courage to do anything to help themselves.

It was then that a waitress walked up to him which caused Lucius to look up at her.
"What will it be," she said with a slight touch of disgust in her voice.
"Just give me a coffee and leave me alone."

The waitress gave Lucius a sour look but walked off quickly as she could tell that he was not a person she wanted to be messing with but he knew that she did not know the half of it and that brought a rare smile to his face.

'Don't forget, grab everything the Yakuza is loading, and get the hell out of there!' That sentence kept playing in Alex's head as he got into the truck and gave the unconsious boy a long look.

"Shit!" Alex got both boxes, and latched them on his backpack, he then carefully pulled him over his shoulder and jumped out of the truck. Alex ran out of the ally and turned a corner into a open street. A old, beat-up truck came to a screeching holt in front of Alex. The driver opened the window and stuck his head out. "C'mon! Hurry up and get in!"

"Yeah, yeah!" Alex ran around the bus and jumped in before the bus screechd off. Alex sat the boy down and then sat himself, unlatching the boxes. "Phew! That was too close!"

"At least you got what you came for."

"Yeah."

As soon as he finished his coffee Lucius paid for it and walked out of the place without even looking back but stopped. I could blow up that place and nobody would even care came to him and he wondered if he should do just that but then he realized what a waste of his time that would be. There were more important things for him to do and blowing up a coffee shop just because their coffee was lousy was stupid.

He started to walk away from the coffee shop again and wondered why he had even come to this place as it was still as miserable as ever.

Alex leaned back and gave a long sigh. "Why didn't you guys give me better Gear? I could have died free-falling, ya-know!?"

The driver glaced back for a second. "Sorry, but we really didn't have a choice. All of the top condition Gears have been taken. That was the best we had for you at the moment!" The driver turned into a dark street, not a car, nor person was in site. "By the way... What's with the kid? Getting into BDSM or something?"

Alex sneered. "Not funny. He was tied up and knocked out like this in the truck when I found him... So I picked him up along with the packages."

"I see... Well... I'm betting the Yakuza was going to sell him as a sex slave for somebody if he was tied up like that..."

"Well, then we did a good thing."

As soon as he neared his car Lucius knew that he should not have parked it there as there were two people trying their hardest to break into it.
"Excuse me, it would be nice of you if you leave my car alone."

The two people stopped and turned to look at him at the sound of his voice and Lucius shook his head when he saw just how young they both were. He knew that he should pity them but they had been trying to break into his car and when anybody touched his property his pity went flying out the window.

"Why don't you just open it up for us then so that we can take it."

Lucius looked at the one that had spoken and saw that he was trying to be strong even though he was scared beyond all belief but Lucius did not care. He looked at the stupid little shit as he brought a ball of lightning to life in his hand. The young man did not even have a chance to say anything more as Lucius threw it at him.

The ball of lightning hit the young man in the chest and exploded with a force strong enough to throw the person to the ground where he began screaming as flames began to lick at his clothing.

The young woman looked at the young man and then Lucius but before she could say anything Lucius threw the other ball of lightning then stood there and listened to both of them as they started screaming.

"You should not have touched my car," he said.

As the bus slowed to a stop, the driver turned and looked at Alex and the unconsious boy. "Alex, I know I really shouldn't be saying this to you, since you of all people should know this rule best... But don't get attached to the kid okay?"

Alex stood up and hauled the boy over his shoulder. "I know Mac... Mind not reliving the past...?"

Mac scratched his ear. "Alright, alright... Anyway, I'll grab the luggage, you take the brat to the nurse 'kay?" Alex only nodded. "Then get the hell out of my bus maggot! Move it, move it, move it!"

"You and your FMJ crap."

Hillin

Hillin stared at his latest target. The man was starting to tire out, a pity. He sighed, as disappeared as the man rushed him again. His target turned, probably expecting him to be behind him. In actuallity, Hillin was several rooves away from where they'd been fighting. He pulled out the gun he'd been given, aimned at his now paranoid target, and fired.

He teleported in, and looked at the body. He fired several more rounds into it to be sure, then turned and stared towards the roof access to get back into the building, so he could collect his reward and turn the gun back in.

Some people were so strange.

Alex sat down a sighed. The boy was being untied and checked on now. Alex didn't know why, but the moment he set his eyes on the boy, he felt that the kid was going to change him some how.

Alex didn't like change.

"How's the kid doing?"

Alex looked up to see Mac, who was holding the crates. "Not sure yet, They're still checking on him..."

Kaegan wore a trenchcoat to most assignments. He had been told to, people got edgy when they could see his skin, parts that had been rotted away, showing shiny metal underneath, gnarls of muscle and iron working together in an almost beautiful synergy, had it not been so hideous in the first place.

His eyes were sharp, piercing the room, taking it all in. They had been replaced long ago. He had lived for some years with no sight at all, only a weird sense of radar coming from his ears and a computer relay that was still attached to the back of his head. A small black box, about the size of a fist, which didn't allow him to turn his head too far left or right. He permanently had a stiff neck, only looking straight and out.

He eventually got replacement eyes. They wouldn't let him see in color, but that made up for his other upgrades. Able to see in the dark, and a low level X ray vision.

He used it now on the two gentlemen walking up. He saw several guns, two big deagles on their sides, and smaller guns at their ankles, both were loaded and deadly.

Kaegan smiled when they approached. His teeth had long ago fallen out, as had his hair. Radiation, and experiments with drugs. The first level of drugs, before they turned into the modern stuff people used today to get their super powers. He had the look of a lab rat, and the feel of one too.

Kaegan handed them the suitcase. Some of the premo stuff which he had been a lab rat for in its earlier stages. The good stuff, the kind of stuff that never really left your system, just stayed inside you, made a forth, and bunkered down for the winter. It wasn't top market shit, but it was the best stuff you could find in a back alley.

They handed him a suitcase of their own. Kaegan scanned it. Three million. Cold, hard, and untracable, just like they promised.

With another toothless grin, Kaegan took the money and went back to the waiting car.

As soon as he got into his car Lucius heard his message board beeping like mad and he knew there was only one thing that would make it beep like that. He had a message from the Syndicate which mean that he had a new job. As soon as he hit the button on the board the screen slid down and he looked at the face that was there.

"Lucius, so nice to see you again. You are to come to the usual address to get your next job. Please be on time because if you do not then you know there are others out there that would gladly take it."

Lucius smiled but said nothing as he hit the button on the message board and watched as the screen disappeared again. If only I could kill you he thought before he started up his car.

As he drove down the street he wondered what his next assignment was going to be and who else they had offered it to, who he was going to have to fight to get this next job done.

Alex

Mac and Alex went into the main office and sat down as another, older person came in. "How'd it go?"

"Fair," Alex replied "Almost died free falling..."

"Well, at least you didn't."

Mac leaned over to Alex and whispered into his ear. "And you say I'm anal retentive?"

"Shut up."

"Ah-hem..."

Both Alex and Mac turned back to the other person. "I also heard you picked up a stray..."

"Well... I really wouldn't call it a stray... The kid was in the truck ties up when I went the grab the goods... I figured that he had something to do with the stuff."

"Hmm..." The man sat in a plush chair and leaned back, putting his feet on the desk. "You may have a point..."

Alex

The man shook his head and looked torwards Mac. "Mac, do me a favor and grab the goods."

"Sure thing Kay."

As soon as Alex left, Kay looked at Alex. "Chances are the stuff in the box are rigged, so that only the kid can activate 'em..."

"Activate? What exactly did I steal...?"

"That's what I'd like to know!" Mac re-entered the room, and with a grunt, set the gear down. "It's far too heavy for it to be be the regular stuff we steal."

Kay stood up and walked over to the crates. He knelt down and pulled out a dagger before jamming it in between the crates bottom, and top, before using it as an wedge. "Well... If my guess is correct..." Kay had to step on the dagger to open the crate completely before looking inside. "Just as I thought..." Alex stood up and walked over to the crate, looking in side, so did Mac. Kay pulled out one see through box, and cleared away some dust before handing it to Alex.

"What is it?"

"Well," Kay started as he stood up, "You know the Samurais, right?"

"Yeah, the advanced Tech Gear that cost alot even in the black markets, why?"

Kay pulled out a cigeret and lit it. "Well," Kay started as he let out a puff, "rumors been going around that there are new types of Samurais, the Samurai EXs, and the Samurai TFs. These two gears we got here, are the Samurai EX Fennic-fox, and the Samurai EX Crush Butterfly, also known as the Crimson Butterfly..."

Mac scratched his head in confusion "They're named after animals?"

Kay nodded. "Yeah, the original Smaurais were named after mythological creatures such as the Dragon Buster. But these are mostly named after living creatures, such as the F-Fox."

Alex rubbed the spot in between his eyes, starting to feel a tickly feeling he only got when something really piked his interest. "So... You're saying we got never before released suits?"

"Exactly..."

Hillin

Hillin looked up from the open crate to his employer, who was fidgeting nervously. It was the mopst nervouse he'd seen the man for the past two months, as Hillin had routinely been going around, killing a lot of people to get him into power. "This isn't the payment we agreed upon."

"It's the closest I could get."

"You had what I wanted when I took this job. It's the only reason I did. You of all people should know I don't take contracts like this often."

"I don't know who told you that, but I never had a-"

"I saw it myself." Hillin stood up, and kicked the crate over, letting the contents spill out onto the floor. Then he disappeared. He grabbed the back of his employer's neck, marching him to the spilled contents of the crate. He kicked out the back of his legs, forcing him to his knees. He pushed, making the man look at the contents. Hillin could hear him as he began to cry. "Is this what I asked for?"

There was no response. Hillin drew a sword, poking it against the man's back. "IS IT!?"

He heard the man pull himself together. "N-no, b-but, yo-you don't underst-stand. I-I couldn't jus-"

Hilliin pushed the sword down, through his heart. He withdrew the blade again, wiping it off on the man's clothes. He sheathed the blade, and kicked parts from the crate out of his way. "Back to Square One. Damnit. Well, I should be able to keep this under my hat, unless this little shit was suicidal."

Hillin reached into his coat, and made a face. "Damnit. I'm out again. Got to go back to my dealer, now. This is turning into a bad day."

He spit on the body, turned, and walked away.

"Don't get too excited," Mac muttered, "if the Yakuza had these withen their grasp, they may have more. Not to mention there may be others that hold these new types..."

"Not only that," Kay started as he placed both of the gears back in the crate, "but rumor's been going around that the New Shisengumi has one or two of these as well..."

"As if they don't have enough high qaulity Gear..."

Kay sighed. "Anyways, we got to figure out how to activate these things before we can use them."

"And you're guessing the kid may have something to do with these?"

Kay only nodded. He didn't have time to reply, because Alex suddenly stood up and walked out the room. "I think we may have struck a nerve Kay..."

"I almost completely forgotten how Alex feel about the Yakuza and New Shisengumi..."

He looked at his employer with a half smile but said nothing as he listened to what he had to say. As soon as he finished he leaned forward in his chair.

"Why is it you want me to kill this person. He is only a little boy."

"Why do you ask questions. You know that you will be paid well for any job that you undertake, why should you worry about things now?"

"Because I do not like killing people without a good reason."

My employer laughed at that for he knew that I would kill people just for looking at me funny and he was right about that. I got to my feet and took one last look at him before I turned and walked out of the office, the envelope in my hand. It was true that I did not mind killing people but this job was beyond me, I truly did not want to take this job - I did not want to kill this person.

Alex

Alex walked down the hall, his hands shoved in his pockets. As he passed a few members of the Sky-Knights, Alex kept his head low while he tried to piece together some broken pieces of the puzzle. When Alex arrived at the infirmary, he pushed all of his thinking aside, and look at the person who was guarding the spot. "Anything new?"

The guard looked at Alex. "'cept for the fact the kid's awake? Naw."

Alex patted the guy on the shoulder and opened the door. The doctor sat at the far end of the room, talking to the boy. When the doctor noticed Alex he stood up and walked over to him. "So doc... How's the kid doing..."

"Okay, physically but he seems... Paranoid. If you want to talk to him, go ahead. Just becareful on what you say."

Kaegan set the briefcase down inside a large empty warehouse. The ancient cobwebs and empty crates piled in the corner made it clear that it had not been used in recent years... as a warehouse. As a drug running money laundering low level criminal outfit, however, it was up and thriving. New machines were piled up, some running, others not. A single table made up from some of the empty crates had piles of pills, money, guns, and an array of other things that Kaegan didn't understand.

It was all right though, he didn't understand a lot of things. Most of the complicated shit just swept over his head. He simply shrugged and moved on. That's why he had a boss.

"How did it go?" The plump balding man grabbed up the briefcase, as if it were nothing but solid gold, hugging it close to his porous body.

Kaegan grunted, the best answer he could give.

"Ha ha... ha ha,." He dropped the briefcase on the table, opening it up. Fresh new bills stared at him. His sausage fingers scooped them up, rubbing himself in them.

"I love this job," he stopped his ecstacy of money when he looked three bills down from the top. The briefcase helf a tiny black piece of metal with a red light. The red light began beeping like crazy the moment it was out in the world.

"A tracking device? Kaegan, you fucking..."

But Kaegan had already ducked. The opening of the warehouse showed three men, all with autmatic weapons, already beginning to open fire. Everything sputtered into a million pieces, including his boss. Kaegan dodged to the side, rolling once, guns already in hand, and returning fire.

They weren't good, but they didn't need to be. Three automatic guns, all they needed was a wide spray to take care of everything. Kaegan just aimed carefully, bullets ricocheting off around him.

One in the head, the other in the chest. Both were dead before they hit the ground, their guns still spittering wildfire. The third one was another chest shot, but at that moment a bullet ripped through Kaegan's arm. He shot the man's thigh inside.

He went down screaming. Kaegan didn't even feel it. He got up, examining the wound. It went through flesh... but it would heal. A lot better than going through his implants, that took lots of money to replace. Flesh could heal, steel could not.

He walked over to the man, bleeding to death, screaming for help... his mommy, whatever god he prayed to. Kaegan nodded, understanding. He thought himself a god after all this time. Enough people prayed when he came to see them, it was hard not to think of onesself as a god.

Kaegan dropped the gun to the man's forehead. It seared him, blinding heat from earlier. New screams of pain hit the warehouse.

"Who?" One word, one question, all he really needed, really wanted from this little messenger boy. They had been hired to take his little piece of shit boss's operation out, nothing more than third rate lackeys.

"Yakuza... "

Kaegan pulled the trigger, and walked out into the night.

Hillin

Hillin stared at the girl. She couldn't be more than twelve. She stabbed his arm again, filling him full of the precious drug that he kept injecting himself full of. The Human body was an amazing and complex machine, or so he was told. Billions of little parts all working together. As you aged, parts started fucking up. As they fucked up, the body stopped working so good.

And, it seemed, having them disperse and reconfigure themselves too much proceeded to fuck them up quite a bit. Hillin was abusing the power he'd gotten from drugs, and new drugs were needed. His dealer, or rather, the black market doctor who kept him with a healthy supply of the highly illegal drug he needed, claimed it was helping to keep him alive. Having his cells move back to normal; or filled with nanomachines or some such thing.

All Hillin cared about was the fact it killed the pain that always followed teleporting too much in a day.

Pleasant numbness flowed through him. He looked at the little girl, eyes wide and blank. Her brain had been removed, a computer hooked up inside her head with her brain stem. A puppet whose only string wound out the back of her skull and plugged in the wall. The newest meat to keep the doctor far from his patients. "How's that feel?"

He grunted, and started taking the kits that held and injected the drug, putting them away in his coat. "You've only got five trips left, Hillin, before your deposit runs dry. I'll need more money soon," the girl stated. He turned, and nodded, putting the last of the stuff away.

"No problem. Next time I get a call from someone with a good racket, I'll be sure it's cash only. When have I ever let you down?"

The girl looked at him, and then started back towards the door, to unbolt it for him. He grunted. "Why do you always use kids for your meat puppets?"

The girl turned, and pulled the door open. "Because the little fingers disturb the people who want implants. Now get the hell out of here."

Hillin shrugged, and left. He heard the door bolt behind him, and looked around. It wasn't exactly what he'd call a nice part of town. He sighed, and looked each way, before making a decision and heading to check on any new jobs.

The gangs were always willing to deal in cash. They couldn't get a hold of much else. Maybe one of them needed someone dead...

Alex walked over to the young man and sat down on the annoyingly hard plastic chair that nurse's offices had. The young man had his head turned away and his eyes showed that he was still mentaly recovering. "Hey," Alex started. He noticed that he got some kind of spark from the young one. "... Feeling good enough to talk?"

"... About what?"

Alex scratched his head. The kid was along the lines of cold blooded, not exactly somebody people can, "warm up" to. "Well, let's start with a name..."

"... Emishi... Emishi Okita..."

'Okita?' One person came to Alex's mind when Emishi mention his last name. '... Could he be an ansestor of... No... couldn't be...' Alex mentally shook the idea away and looked at Emishi. "So, what were you doing with the Yakuza, hmm?"

At this moment, Emishi turned his head slowly, and gave Alex a blake, yet sad look. "Test Subject #A003045..."

'A test subject for the Yakuza's Section science department?' Alex rubbed his eyes a bit. "So you were a test subject for Psy Tapping...?"

"... Hai..."

Alex leaned back in the chair, and gave a long, annoyed sigh. "Lemme guess, they implanted a code for some high tech, highly illegal gears?"

"No, a outlawed scientist did that, they just... stole me... But, still how did you know about the memory implant?"

Alex stood up, and calmly placed the chair back into its original spot. "Worry about that later Emishi... For now... Just get some rest." Alex turned and began to walk away.
