Sam had lived in the dorms his freshman year at college and decided he didn't want to do that again. He didn't mind the fact that there were people around all the time, it was that he could never get any studying done in his dorm room. Going to the library all the time sucked.

So, when his sophmore year rolled around, he decided to find himself an apartment. He found a nice little two bedroom, one bathroom apartment that was furnished and included utilities. He took it on the spot. A few weeks into the semester, Sam's car broke down and would took a large amount of his savings (aka rent money) to fix. Since his appartment was aways from campus, he needed the car. He decided he better get a roommate. This really bummed him out as he figured he wouldn't have any privacy again.

He sat down in his living room with his laptop and started writing the ad for the campus aper and to post around campus:

Roommate wanted to split expenses for two bedroom one bath furnished appartment. Utilities included. Not on campus. Can ride share with gas assistance.

Quick and simple. He e-mailed it to the paper and printed some copies to post.

The next day he tacked up the copies around campus. "Now, just wait and see who applies" he thought.

He had several people call the first couple of days, but none of them fit what he was looking for. There were guys looking for a party pad, guys looking for a sex pad, stoners who wanted to know if there was a room the could put their plants, the works.

Then a girl named Alex called and asked if he'd be willing to have a girl for a roommate. He tought about it and figured what the hell, it couldn't hurt to see what she had to say. Her voice sounded sweet on the phone. They lined up a time when she could come over and check the place out. Sam spent most of the day after class cleaning the place up. As the scheduled time got closer, Sam got mroe and more nervous. He was no virgin, but had never had a girl roommate before. Lacey and Alex had known each other for years, Alex and her had come to look at the apartment together because they were hoping the guy would be comfortable with both of them moving in and splitting expenses three ways instead of two. I'm pretty steadily busy monday through friday until after five, but my weekends are open the next few weeks. If we do it on a weekend I can even do the majority of the moving when you have to work, love." she offered to Alex.
