First, I am recovered after Lauren's birthday festivities and I’d like to thank all of you kind souls who returned my virginity. It’s touching in a way. Where were the five of you when I was in high school?
Secondly, I am saddened that nobody has stepped to the plate with a new,
“SAME TITLE CHALLENGE”
So, by way of saying thanks, darkmaas leaps in.
My mind returns to the poetic excitement of last weekend. The dear de Sade left two possible challenge topics. Several poets have expressed interest in “wonton” haiku, so I won’t steal your thunder. Chinese food somehow leaves one ... so unsatisfied.
However, his notion of “dark feel” has serious poetic potential. In a sense de Sade himself issued the challenge with his statement that only de Sade and dead poets could write acceptable “dark feel” poetry. I, of course beg to differ. So as proof that “dark feel” is not the sole prerogative of dead white males, the gauntlet is thrown.
This week’s challenge:
“Dark Feel” or,
“Dark Feel in _______”
The blank of course allows for multiple entries. I might suggest:
1) a colour... “Dark Feel in Hot Pink”
2) a place... “Dark Feel in the Cloisters” or “Dark Feel in Albuquerque”. (note to Angeline and OT: “Dark Feel in the Cake” is now so very cliché.)
3) a musical key... “Dark Feel in E flat” (Avoid minor keys. They are sensitive to underage poetry here at literotica)... you get the picture.
Extra Rules: (hey I'm Canadian, we love extra rules)
In deference to Rybka’s sensitivities, no lavalamps or lugubriosity. (If the title is “Dark Feel in the Hundred Aker Wood” and the subject is Eeyore, then lugubrious is possibly acceptable, but maybe you should consider Xtaabay’s Challenge.)
Limericks only if they are naughty.
Haiku only if your name is Senna Jawa or you are writing in Japanese.
Doggerel only if your AV has a dog in it.
Post on next Thursday (April 24) for mass enjoyment on Friday.
