Just got back online and it looks like Ms. Lauren took care of it.
I actually had Merry Christmas thread ideas, but then I remembered that not everyone is a Merry Christmas kind of poet. I love Christmas, though! I have a tree loaded with stuff the kids made, and I can't wait to watch the Grinch--the one with Karloff doing the voice. But I still can't watch Frosty The Snowman. I was traumatized as a child... no. no. let's not talk about it. I need a weeping emoticon.

And Triss... what's your nude year's resolution?

Edit: No she didn't take care of it! lol I'll go change the title now. Silly, silly me.

I do a great Karloff....
and when my little granddaughter cries and pouts now I do the part where he says " Their mouths will hang open a minute or two
Then all the Whos down in Who-ville will all cry BOO-HOO!"

and she shoots me daggers but, being the grinch, I smile a grinchy smile

to say to you whom I adore
how glad I am you belong to me

that chilled glass of your favorite wine

Christmas Wishes from a Foster Child

“For Christmas, I just want to go home”
Leaves one silent
Knowing that wish
Must go unfilled

Why this child
Is placed in care
Differs from child to child
Day to day
The same
But always different
Each story
Starts out different
And ends the same

Foster home Christmas
Varies in warmth and caring
Not too close
But caring enough
Not to be so distant
Living day to day
Not knowing
When the separation comes
Not if…when

Not all foster children
Wish for this
Some shudder at the memory
Scream in their dreams

But enough
Enough wish for home
Loving their parents
More than anything
Despite all their faults
Sometimes more than life itself

My love sends me music
singing to my heart
the clear notes of Yuletide
truly play a part
in bringing sighs of happiness
and gleeful smiles to my face
those sweet songs of the season
expressing pure love, hope and grace.

Music is what it's all about
this magic time of year
our faiths in peaceful harmony
abide if we but listen, not just hear
the message of the song
and keep the words close to our hearts
we'll know the joy and loveliness
our race's ancient wisdom imparts.

Hark! Now hear the Angels sing.
We all have heard the song
the choirs sing at Christmas
while congregations sing along.
Praise the season's message
of happiness and health
and maybe we can all give a little
hope to those without our wealth.
