Sad

I am always amazed how close we get to our pets! Often, I think about cats and dogs and even a little cava that have shared my life. Good luck!

Sometimes I think loosing an animal is harder than loosing a person.
My sympathies Kitten.

I'm sorry for your loss, LK. I've been through it too many times. The only thing that has ever (briefly) helped has been to make it a point to remember all the best times with him/her each time the loss threatens to overwhelm me.

Hugs and :rose:s

My condolences, Loverskitten. I hope the good memories you made together will sustain you during your grief.

I sometimes wonder why, but I feel the same way. I guess it's because we can't communicate with animals the same way we can with humans, and so we maybe understand the human loss better.

But, the loss of a pet is very difficult, for sure. And like Sir_Winston, I've lost my share of pets and each one is just as difficult as the last. Just this past year one of my cats died of old age, and I had to put another to sleep, because he had intestinal Cancer. I think the total for me is 5 dogs and 7 cats. I presently have 2 cats, and try not to think of that day for them. I live alone and so my pets are my kids.

Loverskitten, I'm very sorry to hear about your dog. Personally, I believe that there is a heaven and they go to heaven just like we do. And, I also believe that we will see them again, when we die. For me, it's going to be difficult for the humans to greet me up there, because there are going to be so many four legged friends greeting me.

Whatever your belief system is, remember your dog loved you. That's just how our pets are. Unconditional love. What more can you ask for in a friend?

:rose: So very sorry. Our furry family members are so unconditionally loving. Bug hugs to you.

*Big hugs, damnit. (I still have anesthesia in mys system, sorry)

Big hugs xxx
Know that you loved him deeply to feel his loss so profoundly.
Our pets are our family who love and never judge us.

I know that the loss of a beloved pet is difficult.

I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you can remember all the fun moments and smile.

Oh I am so sorry. I enjoy my life with a few, they give me so much. Enjoy your fond memories when you are ready.

A new hug for today, because each day for a while it's going to hurt anew, and a hug may help, just a little.

I know I'm a cat person (literally) but I love my dogs.
I have a lot of guilt over her passing as she had a tummy ache when I left for work. I figured she ate her food too fast which she did a lot (she was fine the night before so it came on very quickly) and she was a talky drama queen whenever she didn't feel good. I had no idea how serious bloating was with my breed of dog. I went off to work after hugging her up, making sure she was drinking, and giving her a tummy rub. She was gone when I came home. Had I known, I would have rushed her off to the vet.
It's quiet around here without her. The other dog is confused, and strangely the cats seem to know and have been by my side, even my most aloof cat has been on my lap the past 2 days.
Thanks again for all the kind words.
