I just found out today that my dog , Bubba, is blind. There isn't anything that can be done. It was sudden and irreversable. He isn't in pain and is far happier than I am right now. Does anyone have any experience or tips for living with a blind dog? I'm looking for practical advise on how to help him have the best possible quality of life.

If your opinion is that I should have him put down, don't waste your time posting it. He is healthy in every other way and is a happy little pooch.

When I was growing up I used to take care of one of my neighbor's Yellow Labs who was blind due to diabetes. He had to have daily insulin shots as well. He didn't really suffer at all until he lost his hearing. I found that talking to him a lot was great way for him to navigate.
