I'm saddened by her passing. She was both the first fantasy writer and the first science fiction writer I read, and I still have warm memories of the Witch World, the Zero Stone series, and of course her incomparable Salariki. Many a fond childhood hour was spend in her company. And she was kind enough to write a 13-year-old foal a letter in return to my fan mail.
Rest in peace.
