S.E.R.E. Training

So, I came across this article when I was browsing a little while back: "Academy May Again Teach How to Resist Sex."

Basically, it talks about how there is a type of training that is undergone in the military that teaches you how to resist and evade the enemy. It's called S.E.R.E., which stands for Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape. In the mid-90's they began teaching cadets how to resist sexual abuse while in captivity but had to put a stop it because there was a law suits and some misuse of the program. They had to put an end to the sexual aspect of the program in 2008, I think, but perv that I am, I am nonetheless intrigued by this concept.

I am visualizing a futuristic society, possibly post-apocalyptic, in which the military routinely trains cadets to resist sexual assault. I'm visualizing a fresh young recruit set lose in the wilderness with one or possibly more enlisted men waiting to pounce on her. If she is able to resist them, she passes the test. If she can't fight them off, they get to do whatever they want to her.

Anyone like the sound of this? Any other ideas on how I could structure this concept into a non-consent story?

I love the idea of this! Being prior sevice Army and a big fan of post-apocalyptic stories, not to mention capture/ reluctance/ NC stuff, this has 'write me' all over it in my eyes. Damn, why didn't I think of somethig like this sooner; it's perfect!

You can get the whole capture/ chase fantasy thrill of it, and any deviation and depth of sexual content that you want.
I wouldn't use actual military to stalk the recruits though; maybe dump them in a contained area on an island/ swamp setting with a bunch of men that do this as their job.
Duration: one to two weeks and the rules are simple; avoid capture and survive in any way possible. Other then that, any thing goes.
They have to find their own food, shelter, clothing, and weapons (Either make, or steal the stuff from the indigs)

Maybe drop them in as pairs as an extra twist.

You are a silly person. Yes, I am a woman and I have rape fantasies and honestly, that is not uncommon. Why else would Lit have an entire section of non-con stories? That doesn't mean that I condone rape or want to be raped. Most of the people who read these stories do not condone rape or want to be raped. You seem to be suggesting that by writing about non-consensual sex I am going to somehow incite a whole slew of assaults. Abuse? Where are we right now, jackass? Capture, rape, abduction and NC are in the Top Ten of female fantasies; doesn’t make it reality, does it? And most the people that do fantasize/ write about it, make sure it stops right there. That’s what fiction is all about, so get off your high-horse and go preach someplace else.

As for more story ideas, I was thinking of dropping them in as a group of maybe six with basic gear: Uniform, compass, a utility knife and food and water for a day or so. Anything after that they have to come up with on their own. They can work together, against one another or any combination there of against their hunters, but I picture this world as being dog-eat-dog, with survival and passing this test the primary concern. People who fail to pass are recycled through the program again, and I’m sure none of them want that.

This is a pretty good spin off from the original idea, and more believable in a fantasy setting. A real dark twist though, that kind of reminds me of the old 'Running Man' movie.
Good basic plot of heavy NC story.

As far as throwing men into the mix, why not; it would work the same way I guess if that's you're taste in themes.

The idea of the situation being more of a survival course than a training session is a very good one. I was thinking about possibly making it so that the cadets get captured though, and then they must learn about how to resist specifically sexual methods of aggression at the hands of highly trained "torturers."

The idea of the island and wealthy men paying to watch the show is also intriguing. As to whether it would be both male and female cadets involved, I was thinking that it would be females only, at least in this story. I would imagine that the men would have a training program of their own of this nature.

Two cents worth from a newbie. I jumped at the original idea of a post-apocalytic society where the women recruits are the survivor trainees/cadets. What if in this future society certain types of sexual acts have been banned by the powers that be so the women are totally suprised by these acts?

The problem I see with this concept, the more I think about it, is if they are captured they aren't going to be able to 'resist.' If you are tied up, restrained, whatever, how can you stop the act in itself from happening? It has to be viewed as another method of extracting information, and if they can break the will of the female prisoner using sexual threats or by making her watch a fellow cadet being questioned in whatever manner they are. That's really the basic concept of S.E.R.E : Learn to survive and evade capture, but if you are, how to passively resist your captors without devulging information, and in turn try to escape.
