A good wine can make an excellent dessert. Hmmm, think if I stir my pinky in the wine a bit it'll sweeten up? 
It's a semi dry red that I'm not much enjoying. I didn't buy it and definitely won't in the future. I prefer something a bit sweeter.

We really need to get a bottle of Madeira Bual in Chicago and sip it together. The best combination of sweet and aromatic I can imagine. I wonder where the best spirits merchant will be near the hotel . . .
And of course there's the eternal old favorite, "Have some Madeira, m'dear?" to sing along as we sip.

Ahhhh absinthe...typically the glass designed has a wide mouth, with a very narrow neck designed to pour the liquor over a sugar cube to sweeten it before serving [just stating for those whom have never had it]. The liquor itself is slowly making a comeback after having been slandered for many years [though it does make an appearance in a somewhat recent movie, Van Helsing]. When I had it in St Marteens, the tender would pour the shot, light the shot on fire and we'd drink it through a straw.

LIke the beginning of a magic trick, and you know you think whats going to happen except then it goes off on a totally other track, and leaves you slack jawed and stunned.
Now take that slack jawed and stunned feeling and move it to the very beginning of the act, before the show even starts. Profound like that.
