Russian Cosmonauts arrive wearing Ukrainian colours *thumbs up*

I saw the story on Fox but I'm not convinced that was a show of protest wearing "Ukrainian colors." Such a protest would land those involved in the Gulag for 15 years under Putin's latest edict. Did the uniforms bear Ukrainian national colors, Yellow, blue, yes but the stated reason for those colors was, "We had accumulated a lot of yellow material so we needed to use it," "That's why we had to wear yellow." You will note each of them has a chest and Russian shoulder patch containing the Russian colors, white, blue, and red.

^points and laughs

for posterity:
"We had accumulated a lot of yellow material so we needed to use it," "That's why we had to wear yellow."

seriously, if i were new to the site and read this post, i'd imagine they were trying to be funny

Any other time I'd agree with you, but I can't believe these high profile individuals are publicly defying Putin, especially after his latest edict on antigovernmental protesting with a mandatory 15-year sentence. The reporter claimed it was a joke, but based on what? I only included the quoted remarks for a reason. If they are in protest of Putin, they have my complete and total respect and support.

It's not like they can ask for asylum in some other country -- who other than Russia has the spaceships available to take them down?

they normally wear blue suits. at least 2 of them arrived wearing blue suits. They changed into the yellow uniforms (spun by certain russian sources as being the colours of the place they trained, and, you know, 'having a lot of yellow material' they needed to use) before the shots of them crossing into the space station proper to be greeted by the other astronauts onboard. No-one can blame them for having a back-up explanation should putin still have any power to do something about it when they finally return to earth.

the thing is, and the huge grins on all the space-station occupants' faces illustrate this perfectly, this was a worldwide televised event and those very colours would obviously spark discussion and suggest support for Ukraine. It served its purpose.

not sure on the motives or logistics, russia is a terrorist state comiting war crimes on a daily basis. so this give the chance, irrespective of it was a badly timed propaganda ploy by putin i.e to coincide with his stadium rally and the crimea anexation, or it could be some kind of protest, either way it was shown all over the world.

meanwhile children are killed.

Nestle newest advert as they hope to take pennies and dollars form children for easter eggs,

I guess we can wait and see what happens when they land. Putin is a vengeful martinet who will no doubt punish any perceived slight. He's already rounded up some 18,000 protestors who are now under the cloud of a 15-year sentence. Hopefully, that won't happen, but having read Solzhenitsyn I know they are capable of it.

BTW, that stadium was filled with Russian government employees paid to attend.

some paid, some forced. meanwhile in ruSSia the queues for sugar get longer.
Have you seen the price of wheat? Russia and Ukraine account for about 70% of the world's production of wheat. Wait until that fact hits market shelves the world over. If you like such products as pasta and such buy now.

ukraine farmers are mindful of that and want the russians gone by mid may at the latest to avoid them having to tow tanks, EWU, helicopters etc out of their fields and waste time which could be spent seed sowing instead of producing sunflower food.

updates are that a russian admiral has now fallen over board (either pissed or had pissed off his crew)

and the people of odesa are now hiding from the war in their metro system. this has confused the people of odessa who are now wondering where this metro system by stealth is located,

russia, world super power is now claiming to have used its latest top secret weapon, hyper sonic missles, against a wharehouse yesterday, aswell as recruiting syrian mercanaries and belaruse army being a bit twitchy about whether join in, muntiny or hold an uprsing.

That Admiral might bring the total to five the number of general officers lost by the Russians. Using the media agreed-upon number of Russian dead at 7000, that means in three weeks they are losing one general officer to every 1400 dead soldiers, which is about the size of an American Marine battalion which supports the contention that Russian forces are under centralized authority that hampers small unit tactics at the expense of leadership at higher levels as well.

^^^ Fuck dude, either go to school or get a spell checker.
