well i am writing a long series on xnxx, i guess ill put it on literotica when i stop being lazy for a day or two. Just to give you an idea the story is up to around 100,000 words right now. I want some suggestions on body part words so that my writing doesn't get so repetitive.

Penis (never use the word when writing about sex, barely ever use it)
Cock(most frequent)
Dick(use it rarely

Tits, Breast, Boobs(rarely)

Pussy, Slit, lips

ass, butt, bottom

post some more.

John,

Here is a partial list of synonyms. Believe me, there are a lot more. A 100K story? You and Oggbashan must be soul mates.

Hi John,

Well, Rumps seems to have covered the lot. :D

So, I'll just stick my oar in and say: when it comes to describing "body parts" repetition is far better than using many weird and wonderful synonyms.

I'll try to explain what I mean in a better way. A cock is a cock, why call it by a different name? If you were describing an arm, you'd call it an arm. Ok, sometimes you might say "limb" just to add a little variety, but I highly doubt you'd start calling it an "upper body appendage" or something like that.

When writing erotica, I stick to the few main words for the "sexy bits". I'll use cock, but sometimes dick - if the situation or character call for it. I use pussy and sometimes cunt - again, depending on the character/setting/how hard hitting I want to be. And I'll use tits. That's it. There really is no need to worry about over-using such words.

Anyway, that's just my take and opinion on it. Dunno if it made any sense or not. ;)

I'll echo what Lou said, with a note that some words work better from one character than others or if you are tied too one character closely in POV.

To your hypothetical eighteen year old innocent her pussy is her pussy. To the guy pounding into her it might be her cunt. Pick your words to fit the speaker, thinker, pov.

Another word for pussy

Another word for pussy can be sweetness that what I call mine

thanks, ya i know that the word needs the right context. I never use cunt since it is a love story. Lot of those seem to not fit erotic stories at all. Like i said, basically all i use is cock, dick, shaft and thats about it for the male organ.

And what was that about my soul mate???

So, you don't like "axe wound" as a synonym for pussy? :)

The great Oggbashan is, uh, renowned here at Lit for his length, story-wise. If you two ever co-wrote a story, it'd probably match the unabridged Oxford dictionary for lenght.

somepeople might not like this one, but I do.

(fits my name too)

>>>does this mean a guy is being pervy if he refers to you as 'sweetness'?<<<

Oh yeah, and I would agree. Use two or three words to describe each body part. (or even one)

same goes with 'said' no need to use a synonym every time someone speaks.

Appreciate the list though. It wouldn't hurt to use a different word for different stories.:)

Also, don't forget about the other things going on in the story, thoughts and feelings and even other body parts which can be erotic too. Whether your screwing, fucking or making love' it's better when you do it with your whole body and not just your crotches!

so how long are most stories here?

If you read my stories they are broken into parts that range between 2000-8000 words. I have 27 parts done, and i have been writing for three months, and it totals near 100,000 words. My ultimate plan is 100 parts, around 400,000 words. How long are stories around here?
Like how long does a story have to be to be considered a long story.

How long is a piece of string?

I think the ultimate is 18 Literotica pages at about 2,500 words per page.

Mine go up to about 30,000 as a single unbroken story. If broken into chapters my 'Flawed Red Silk' is just over 50,000 split into 12 unequal size chapters. That was my 2003 NaNoWriMo effort all of which was edited, submitted and posted here before the end of November.

My Silverbridge Chronicles posted and still in progress are about 300,000 words and growing.

With over 100 story submissions as oggbashan and jeanne_d_artois I suppose I have 500,000 words already on Literotica. I'm ignoring the poetry submissions.

I can also do short. One of my two rejections was for being about 10 words short of the minimum 750 words.

The stories can be as long as you want them to be. Whether anyone will read 18 Lit pages in one session? I doubt it unless you have hit exactly their turn-on.

John,

There is no set length(s) at Lit except for the minimum, 750 words. Your two best options at Lit would be to either post the story in Novels and Novellas, or break it into those 2-8K parts you mentioned and post those in the category that seems most appropriate. If in doubt, send Laurel a PM (not an e-mail) and ask for her advice.
