I feel like I'm hogging this board today, but here's a more upbeat one....

Two years ago I trained to run a 5K but never actually ran one - still I was so proud of the great shape I was in and how I was a running machine!

Then between life happening and my starting a job where I had to be at work really early, I never have gotten back into the regular running routine (gotta love alliteration).

Recently I have lost 10 lbs and I'm motivated to keep losing and getting back in great shape. I want to get back into running. I am looking for an accountability partner/"casual trainer." Not a certified trainer (though I wouldn't reject one) but someone who is also an avid runner who would like to encourage and advise.

After this day from hell, I sooo need the endorphins!! I'm bad about coming back here to check for replies so if you are interested, please message me privately.

Thanks in advance!

Accountability

I would be happy to try to keep you motivated but Im never on here. Sorry *hugs* I love working out. Ok... Wait... I love to eat so I have to work out so I can love my body. That's the truth! Lol! I do a bit of everything and feel that variety is best. However, I run the most! It might be best to join a fitness board for people with like minded goals! Then come on here and show of your progress!

You may be searching for "male motivation" and if that's the case please forgive my intrusion! just wanted to give you a bump, some encouragement and a *wink!

All for running : the sweat, the heavy breathing, the bouncing body parts. It is a bit like sex really.

More seriously I try and do 5 or 6 km a couple of times a week and running support sounds like a good idea.

Jen, congrats on your accomplishment. Its worth being proud of. As somebody who has been a semi competitive half marathoner for age/gender group off and on, I can tell you that if you stick with it long enough, you will get addicted to the endorphine high, and that's a great thing to have happen.

In my personal opinion, the average person should be able to get up, walk out their front door, and run three miles without it being a big deal. This is not to mitigate your accomplishment, but simply to stress that we as a society have become too quick to normalize sedentary life. People weren't meant to be physically inactive.

I will get off my soap box now...cheers to you!!

Congratulations on the race and the weight loss =) Both are huge accomplishments. I'd love to help you if you needed help with things.
