Kids and I were watching Bring It On (again) and this band sang the lead vocals on some of the background tracks..

Rufus was the name of the band which originally had Chaka Khan as lead vocalist. I dont know if Rufus King is a variation on that. Try a search on AMG, they have an extensive listing, though nowhere near complete.
