The little pup has made it to her new home. Her owner went to upstate New York to the breeder's and fetched her home to Maine. They left at about 2 AM and drove in the thick of the recent snowstorm for fifteen hours, enduring whiteout conditions for a couple hundred miles. But she's here now.

This is Rudder. She's a Bernese mountain dog.

Still cute as a button, Cant. As only a puppy can be.

A ship without a rudder's like a ship without a rudder's like a ship without a.... well, you get it.

Cute puppy, I'm jealous.

Puppies (and kittens) are the best possible reason to have cats and dogs.

What breed is it, Cant? Just judging from the markings, I'd say it might be a border collie.

Rumple Foreskin

Rumple, she is supposed to have white across the toes, but you are right, with the brown she does resemble a Border Collie

She will grow very big, though

very cute pup Cant

hope the training goes well and the doggie doesnt trash your stuff

The owner is not a very strict Mom. I doubt the training will be very thorough

I will only be the dog sitter once in a while, though it will certainly expose the stuff to danger for a while.

I mean, the woman's smart and all. But she lives alone but for the two dogs, and she indulges them

The other is a Clumber Spaniel. White thing, short legs, big feet, powerful shoulders, and spaniel looks. Brown flecks and sad eyes.

Enjoy Rudder as a "lap puppy" while you can. The Bernese I had when I was a kid grew to 140 pounds within a year.

Cute pup that will become a great dog

Oh, Clumbers are cute, too. I love how they look so goofy-ish, but dignified. I'll dog-sit for Rudder, if needed.

Bernese are beautiful dogs- like a more lithely built Saint Bernard (The next mountain over)
It's nothing but cats around my ouse... but I love dogs anyway.
That dog will be a horror without training. They are active temperamented, working dogs and I'd think she'd become very destructive if she hasn't got something to DO. Rescue, agility- anything along those lines. From what you say, it wouldn't hurt the mom either... good luck, Can't!

Funny, some of my best freinds are Bernese, and she doesn't look Bernese.

And how can you tell if a dog's any good unless you smell their butt?

Not really into cute, or dogs. But I do enjoy hotdogs, corndogs, buggerlugs and laptops.

Perdita
