about 4 yrs ago I was seeing this older man who sent me three dozen roses. I couldn't see the delivery guy from behind them!! I was just completely floored that he'd sent them seeing as how we'd only gone out twice, but it was his way I suppose.

I once received a dozen roses from two different guys on my 21st birthday.. that was a bit awkward, but it still made me smile.

But, to be honest, it doesn't matter the amount, it matters the sentiment. The very last time I received roses made my entire year.

A dozen long stemmed roses and a tantrum telling me to give him half the money for them...

This took place a week before I left! :D

Expensive roses for him?????? lol

IRL: None, zip zero.

Online: Very few

But as i'm a guy I should probably not be replying to this. When you give roses, you always have to improve on the previous number. Buying a dozen one time, means you have to buy a dozen or more the next time.

Its so expensive.

A single rose every time i feel a girl deserves one

:rose: for starting this thread

I think the most I've ever been given was 2 dozen, but I remember quite a few people giving me roses when I graduated from college, I just don't remember how many.

Over the course of two years I had sent my ex gf over 6 dozon roses... this is not counting the little gifts I've bought her, the single flowers, the scores of times I've treated her to breakfast, lunch or dinner, and the times I've lent her money.

I think she has ruined it for the rest of you! :p

having to share the cost of the sentiment does dampen the act, doesn't it? heh.. what a jerk.

But, it does bring to mind a thought here.. how many of you guys would like a woman to send YOU flowers at work or at home? And, would you have a preference? Would the sentiment be the same?

Most received at one time: 12
Most given at one time: 24

Both were major statements. Why do so few women give men flowers? Want to know a secret? Send 12 to him at work. Don't tell him it was my idea. Try to get them delivered early in the day if you can.

Here Maddy,

I know that you're a sweetie. :rose:

I'd love to give you roses in RL to see your smile. You have such a nice smile.

:rose: :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose:

The other six roses for Maddy; They won't allow more then 10 images in one post.

Awww. Thanks you guys. I think everyone's gotten them but me. See what having an asshole boyfriend does to you for 5 years? Thank God he's gone. Maybe now I'll get some for real! LOL

Well, I'm an old guy too (a little over 40 anyway) and I like to see a lady smile. After all is said and done, isn't that one of the best things that ever happens in this world?

Heyya. I was just barely 30 at the time and he was in his mid-50's. He sent them hoping to escalate a relationship I found to be strictly paternal, but... the sentiment really did stun me. I'd never before had a man send roses to me like that before and I didn't know how to act. In retrospect, it would've been better if he'd chosen to be less extravagant. I'm a very simple person. I don't admire someone who flashes their money or who uses their influence to try to draw me to them. I much prefer something much less assuming. :) Flowers every now and then are nice, but my preference is daffodils. I love them, they signify Spring and just make me so very happy.

i love roses ~

the most i've received at one time is 2 dozen - pink, long-stemmed beauties - but they were from someone i'd rather not think about

i have received a dozen many times from my husband including a dozen every valentine's day for the past 13 years - the only flowers he has ever given are red roses - the night we were to have our very first date something came up and i couldn't make it - when i arrived back home that night there was a dozen red roses sitting outside my door

many times i find a single rose in my car when i leave for work, or on my nightstand or the pillow when i wake in the morning, or even delivered personally to me at work

i have only sent roses one time - a dozen to my husband at work

lukky.. that's so very sweet.. thank you. ;-) I have a hard time when I drive around town here because the transportation dept, or whatever entity determined that flowers should be planted alongside the highway, has daffodils planted everywhere all over the place here and it's almost all I can do to not pull over and grab a handful.. heh.

As a matter of fact, I did that last weekend as I headed to my parents' house in the boondocks. I saw all these beautiful daffodils growing alongside the road and screetched to a halt and yanked up about 15 of them before jumping back into my car. My mom put them in a mason jar on the kitchen table.

:)

You are a sweet thing Princess. Sie mentioned your name today on the UK thread, someone asked her about the pic thread and she said that she was glad to see that Princess was still posting over there. Both of you are sweet ladies. You ought to go check out the UK thread, they're taking guesses on the weight of the Golden Star baby (due in 4 weeks or so).

Vixen, I don't recall from the southern thread..are you from the Orange part of the state or the Black and Gold part?

Roses are beautiful

I've been fortunate to receive a dozen roses on several occasions in my life: different shades and colors; different reasons behind them.

The most special were the beautiful ones I received this past Valentine's day from my special man.:rose:

My husband gave me 100 roses when he found out I was pregnant with our youngest daughter. I have a picture of them somewhere....I'll find it and post it.
