Basic premise then my spin on it:

Premise: woman (though it could be a guy) needs money fast and asks her roommate to spot some cash. Roommate is hesitant but eventually agrees in exchange for a lapdance

I know stories like this are on here but I think what makes it interesting is “why a lapdance?” Like you’re at the point of asking for a raunchy favor for money and it’s from someone who you are going to be living with so you’ve already gone past the point of no return so why not go all the way and ask for a full on sexual favor?

My spin on it: MC (who is a stripper) is shocked when roommate asks. They have hung out and there have even been rough nights where if roommate asked she would have gone all the way…but if anything, she figured roommate was Ace. She asks why a lapdance and roommate says explaining isn’t part of the deal and she’d like to just get her lapdance.

MC however wants to try and figure things out so she says for the amount she’s loaning, roomie is getting the full experience and it will be a bed dance not just a lapdance. So MC has roomie sit on her bed, serves her some box o wine (can’t afford champagne), then rigs up her iPod and gives her a full strip tease and then straddles her on the bed making sure to watch roomie’s every reaction to see if she can figure out roomie’s intentions

Possible endings:
1. Roomie is figuring out her sexuality
MC works herself into a huge mess but roomie realizes she’s straight.

2. Roomie is leaving in the next few months and wanted to create some memories with MC.

3. Roomie’s trying to plan a bachelor/rette party for a friend and wanted to see if MC would be a good fit

How about, rather than make it a monetary amount, it's a really big favor. Could be anything. The loan of a car relaible enough for a road trip (the strippers I knew when I was a young man, would travel at certain times of the year). Or a really great dress, pair of expensive shoes, etc.
In return, the roommate asks for a date. A nice, dress up and have dinner out kind of a date. Just as friends, really.
The stripper is taken aback initially but isn't very hard to convince, and they have a lovely dinner when the strpper returns from her trip with a boatload of cash.
The conversation during dinner ends up being about her trip and she mentions how many lap dances she performed.
"I've never had a lap dance," the room mate giggles, a little tipsy from the fine white wine they have been drinking.

Our lovely stripper, a little tipsy herself, but wildy attracted to her normally demure roommate, who is now decked out in a pencil dress and heels. She decides that the moment the two woman get home, she would makes sure that lap dance happens.

I think this approach feels more plausible. I've never known many strippers that had money issues. Car trouble? Yeah. It also sets up their mutual atttraction. It would be hot.

I love realism. Though your suggestion is definitely possible, I'll offer an alternative to consider.

The non-sexual pole dancing is now quite popular, as well as similar sports like aerial silks. At least where I live. I know two people who do it actively, where one has a removable dancing pole in her student bedroom (we have individual sleeping rooms here), and the other the pole and a silk. I've been to both to demonstrate my inability to bend any further than to touch my knees.

So the dancer asks for money, the lender asks for a pole or aerial silk dance. To the dancer this seems fair. Of course it can be a bit sexual, but it can just as well be curiosity to the sport. Like a small thing to ask.

When the dancer is ready in the tight clothes there's already a few remarks that can be sexual. Certain appraisals for the clothes for example, or how some parts of their body look thanks to the sport. Only when the lender asks why the dancer isn't in their underwear the penny drops.

As the dancer already said yes to the dance, it is a smaller step to go dancing in their underwear. There's a lot of reasons that can be present in smaller or larger amounts to facilitate this. Not wanting to disappoint the lender. Fear that they won't pay if you don't strip. Maybe some exhibitionism or wanting to show off.

From there it is easy to increase steps. The dancer could go immediately to go into their underwear, a big sexual leap. Alternatively they could have reservations, deciding to dance in their sport clothes and maybe take it off during. This is unexpectedly much more sexual than the dancer intended for both parties.

Either party could become more bold. A touch here, maybe including the lender in the dance as a precursor to a lap dance, and it can spiral out of control if you want.
