OOC: The thread is gonna be a modern story, based loosely on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Monopoly of the local drug trade had recently been up for grabs since the collapse of the Ricardo drug ring. Seizing on the opportunity to dominate the market, Don Delvecchio stepped up his trade in the area. But before the Don could establish a complete monopoly, a new threat appeared in the form of Oliver Jancker from Germany. Competition between the two opposing criminal families was fierce and the atmosphere had become quite tense.
In the middle of this underground conflict are our two main characters: Ethan Delvecchio, son of Don Delvecchio; and Sara Jancker, daughter of Oliver Jancker (who, if willing, will be played by Goddess Euphoria.
). Other characters in the thread could include: Don Delvecchio, Oliver Jancker, the respective wives/ siblings, henchmen, bodyguards, secretaries etc etc... the list is pretty much endless...
The story begins at the State Art Gallery, with Ethan and Sara both being invited guests at the black tie opening gala. (Of course, at this stage, Ethan and Sara have NO idea who each other is.)
IC: Ethan Delvecchio - 23yo, 5'11, short black hair with light brown eyes.
"Jesus Bruno!" I let out in frustration, "You don't have to hover around me twenty four seven like my shadow. Go grab a drink or something. I can look after myself."
Bruno was your stereotypical bodyguard - six foot five, built like a brick, brain the size of a peanut, and as much subtlety as a jackhammer. I was slowly beginning to grow pale from lack of sunlight thanks to the giant sunblock that is Bruno.
"But Mr. Delvecchio!" protested Bruno, "I have strict orders from your father that under no circumstances should I let you out of my sight. Not until this whole Jancker thing blows over anwyay."
Frigging Jancker.
"Bruno. How many times do I have to explain this to my father and you??? This is between old man Jancker and my Dad. I want nothing to do with it."
"But..."
"No buts." I said, cutting Bruno off mid-sentence. "Look, go get a drink. There's far too many people in here for Jancker's cronies to try anything anyway. I'll be fine."
With that, I turned away from Bruno and returned my attention to the sculpture before me. It was a two feet scultpure of a medieval maiden, carved from one piece of solid ivory. The maiden was made as to look as though she was reading from a scroll. Although the scroll itself was quite small, it could be seen with a certain degree of squinting that there was indeed intricate words etched upon it. I leant forward and tilted my head with curiosity. It was then that I felt a presence beside me. I turned to be greeted by the breathtaking smile of a gorgeous lady.
"Don't bother," she said with a warm smile upon her face "I've tried all night. Believe me. There's no way you can read that."
