I watch the occasional Hallmark romantic movie and I have been watching a lot of Asian romantic shows lately so it got me to thinking about romantic gestures that men and women have received or given. In the shows it could be something like the guy sitting in the cafe draws a beautiful picture of the woman across from him for the cute meet. Or it might be the guy sees the woman caught in the rain and runs to buy an umbrella for her. In one show nobody in the office believed the woman was dating a guy so one day he is dresses to impress and is leaning up against his expensive car waiting for her to come out of the office. As the women come out of the office they see him waiting for her which makes all of her co-workers envious. In another show the woman buys a guy a pair of baseball gloves and has his number embroidered on them.
I know little things like pulling a chair out or opening doors for a woman could be romantic but is probably considered old fashioned now and I am not sure appreciated anymore but I was thinking more of romantic gestures that really stood out, maybe even took your breath away.
Anybody have any romantic gestures, given or received, that they will remember the rest of their life? Any romantic gestures that backfired? Just curious if these things happen very often in real life or just the stuff of romantic TV shows.
