romance based on a partial fantasy

I have a story idea that i would like to work with someone based on a young to mid age man in the ny city/ long island area. He has a crush on wifes friend who is also married, his wife dies, she gets a divorce and happily ever after with drama and issues all thrown in there. Again, base idea but im no writer and would like to flesh this out with someone

Sounds to me like somebody is horny for their wife's sister.

M1 and W1 get married while W2 (best friend of W1) is in college, so M1 meets W2 at the wedding rehearsal. M2 is W2's college sweetheart, but turns out to be nothing much of a husband. When W1 dies, W2 visits without M2, because he's too busy, and consoling M1 gets a bit out of hand on the day W2 is going back to her life. After the brief time with M1, somehow M2 just isn't who she thought he was, which kicks off the divorce. (M2, being M2, isn't inclined to fight a divorce, and moves in with some eye-candy gf in no time)

M1 and W2 aren't an instant match, though. M1 has hangups about doing anything so soon after losing W1, and W2 finds the divorce has left her with some baggage as well, so M1and W2 don't hit things off well again for a while, though they do eventually.

Would that work as a plot?
