There is no mention of Judy Garland singing "Over the Rainbow"

"Over the Rainbow" is a ballad composed by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg.
It was written for the 1939 film "The Wizard of Oz" and sung by actress Judy Garland
in her starring role as Dorothy Gale. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song
and became Garland's signature song until her death June 22, 1969 (age 47).

Rolling Stone has been down this path before and its always bullshit meant to get people talking about Rolling Stone.

there's still a rolling stone magazine? and someone actually reads it? it turned to shit in about 1972 when jann wenner decided to become a mogul. since there is no rock scene anymore, what's the point?

You guys are giving GrandpaBill yet another roll in the hay? 🤣

Anybody else notice the article is from 2003?

I stopped scrolling once I saw that 'Old Town Road' was listed ahead of 'Welcome to the Jungle.'

All "Top x" music lists made or "updated" in the past decade, and which can be accessed online - and thus debated/shared on social media - are created to be controversial. It's a marketing trick.

If that's not enough to dissuade you from paying attention to b.s. rankings like these, just know that whoever made the list has most likely never even listened to 60% of the songs on them.

I went into reading fully aware that lists like this, especially ones that update previous lists, are practically designed to trigger older people.

But the "Old Town Road" thing cannot possibly be taken seriously. It's a novelty song built on a cheesy sample. FFS.
