I miss the way that President Obama deeply damaged his own Democratic Party with the passage of ObamaCare... I mean, 63-seats lost in the U.S. House of Representatives, along with another 6-seats lost in the U.S. Senate! I'd rate 2010 as being FAR worse for Obama than 2018 was for Trump!

I also liked how Barack & Michelle decided to campaign extensively for Hillary Clinton in major swing states during the 2016 presidential campaign... states like North Carolina, Florida, & Pennsylvania (states where Hillary ended up LOSING all across the board!)

Of course, the media LOVED the Obamas! I remember one female network reporter in particular calling Michelle "Hillary's secret weapon" as she campaigned alongside Mrs. Clinton. Sadly, as secret-weapons go, Michelle Obama proved to be an enormous flop!

You have so many election facts at your fingertips, you should know that Clinton won the popular vote.

Nobody has ever won the White House simply by finishing first in the popular vote, phrodeau. You don't think Hillary knew that? If not, perhaps her husband (our nation's 42nd president) should have explained it to her!

You get elected president by winning enough ELECTORAL VOTES!

President John Quincy Adams (our 6th president) is proof of that. JQA finished 2nd in the popular vote, but became president anyway, just like Rutherford B. Hayes (our 19th president!) Sam Tilden was the popular vote winner in 1876, but he never lived in the White House!

Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000, but the closest he got to being president was right after Bill Clinton was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives! But sadly, for Al, the U.S. Senate never voted to remove Bill from office, so Al Gore missed his golden opportunity.

Damaged the Democratic Party? They haven't lost the popular vote for president since then. If that's "damage", I'll take it!

As for the backlash to Obamacare, people are afraid of change, and they were fed a steady diet of horror stories from the right wing shit machine. A decade later, people now know those stories were nonsense and Obamacare is steadily gaining popularity. (Not to mention that some of us who don't approve of it feel that way because it doesn't go far enough. But it was a crucial first step.)

Obama lost the House and Senate because he came out wimpy. If he had indited and arrested W and Cheney for war crimes in the first week, instead for giving them a pass, he could have won the respect of the country. But NOOOO, he let them slide and showed he had no balls at all!
