About your experiences crossing the U.S. Border. So many folk have harrowing experiences trying to cross from Canada into the U.S. and vice versa...as you had to travel both ways, you must have had *something* happen to you. Maybe some lovely lady guard insisting on an intimate search for contriband? ;)

Come on, Rob, you can tell us the truth. We won't think any less of you. How difficult was it? Did they think you were running from the draft? Stealing in liquor? Smuggling illegals into the country?

Of course, if you won't tell us, I'm sure the folk from the Chicago get-together will. They know the real story....

No story to tell.

Going there I talked to a U.S. customs at Pearson Airport. That's Toronto's airport. He asked me some questions. I answered them. He took my passport, ran it though a reader, looked at the screen, punched some keys and said, "Go ahead."

Went to the search lineup. At eight in the morning it wasn't long. Took off shoes, emptied pockets. I walked through the metal detector and they confiscated my lighter. Sigh.

That was it.

Coming back, I went through the metal detectors at O'Hare and customs at Pearson. No problems.

OK, I was wrong. There is a story but it's boring.

One interesting thing. There is not a single pay phone of the mezzanie area of O'Hare Terminal Three. I had to borrow a cell phone from a janitor to phone for my ride.

Oh, there's lots more to the story! Rob's just shy. :rose:

No mention of the strip search, Rob?

That hot little gal who truly enjoyed her work?

The reason you were hours late at the airport???

C'mon, fess up!

Nothing like that. Unfortunately.

All my fun was at the Lit-together.

I do have a story in the works about a customs agent who searches the wrong bag though.
