Only they use the “L” word. For example, just got my RNC “Census Document Questionnaire.” To each question your choices are Yes, No, or Undecided. Of course, knee-jerk conservatives merely need to answer yes to everything and then send in a check (to cover more census mailings as per instructions) to the RNC. My knee-jerk answers in [brackets].

2. Do you support the creation of an Office of Homeland Security? [NO]
3. Would you support increasing the amount of security at airports, train stations and all government buildings including monuments and museums? [NO]
4.

2. Will you join the Republican National Committee by making a contribution today? [NO]
[second choice] – Yes, I support the RNC, but am unable to participate at this time. However, I have enclosed $11.00 to cover the cost of tabulating my survey. [NOT A FAWKING CHANCE!]
[third choice] – No, I favor electing liberal Democrats over the next ten years.

[I simply crossed this out and replaced it with – NO, I favor electing Libertarian candidates since you’ve turned into tax and spend MODERATE DEMOCRATS! Start being conservatives again if you want our support!]

And your point is? Of course the RNC uses scare tactics - all pols do. Why? Because we respond to it. Fear is the great motivator. BTW, my answers are next to yours but in bold.

2. Do you support the creation of an Office of Homeland Security? [NO] no

2. Should we take the next step in welfare reform through faith-based programs? [NO] no - just eliminate welfare, and give people their taxes back and let them decide individually how to take care of the needy

Defense Issues

1. Do you think U.S. troops should have to serve under United Nations’ commanders? [NO] yes - as long as we are a member nation

Even Libertarians don't have the same answers...

The surprising one is the faith-based initiatives. That seems to be a loose-loose in the long-run and one sure to turn the left rabid so, I think, charity from faith-based groups should remain community-based.

However, I would not be against some grants awarded to groups who are already, provably and efficiently making a difference, even if faith-based.
